Jesus Christ.. jwp does not have it in his locker to drive forward with the ball or get us up the pitch by carrying it .. surely you know that .. and kwp has one fucking goal and no assists even though being one of our primary players on the ball in and around the box . So yes where is this end product you talk of ?
-
But lavia is basically sitting deep ., neither him or jwp are carrying the ball in the opposition half ..like verlaine says above we are relying on our full backs to carry the ball in attacks .. and tbh for a player like kwp who has as much possession as he does with the attacks flowing through him very often and also around the box in dangerous areas to get zero assists is shockingly bad.. should be getting some even by accident think you need to revaluate him being one of our best players as he’s created nothing
-
Absolutely and perraud sees a lot less of the ball then kwp too.. Our attack actually runs through kwp a hell of a lot .he’s been used almost like a wide playmaker when we are in possession .and with all that possession has contributed next to nothing bar keeping the ball and twisty runs. at one stage he was getting hyped up that he was on par with TAA and Reece James etc but they are absolute goal and assist machines whilst kwp flatters to deceive .. to be honest if he goes he goes .. bring on livramento
-
Like I said because of the imobility of jwp and the 2 man midfield kwp is relied upon as one of our main ball carriers ..for all the possession he had he managed one goal and no assists! is that good enough ? It’s not like he’s not in dangerous areas he’s all around the box .. but instead of actually doing anything majority of the time just does twists and turns .. only time a decent passage of play happens through him is when he twists and turns and passes back to jwp to get a cross in
-
Maybe a controversial opinion since most love him .. but i think kwp has been another big problem in our style of play .. with the two man immobile cm pairing used most of the time last year the two cms have trouble carrying the ball, therefore a lot of our attacks run through kwp- trouble with kwp is he is so so Indirect and twists and turns and twists again and dilly dallys on the ball, only many times to play it back to jwp anyway .I think he slows down our already tedious slow build up play even more and gives opposition defense even more time .. u hardly ever see him just make a direct run and get a cross or shot in, it’s always twist and turn and twist and turn.. like I say I think a lot of this starts with the 2man mf behng so immobile but I think kwp doesn’t help much here I think your more likely to get something from perraud over kwp in terms of end product and stats say the same even though both poor.. but considering how much of our attacks run through kwp I just wanted to comment on it

For me selles was much worse . im in the one percent minority that didn’t mind jones.. at least he was trying different things, changing formations.. probably getting close to playing ourbest 11 in a 4231 near the end at least he was trying to change it we were not in the best shape when he took over so results not going to plan isn’t a total shock by the time we had got the reinforcements at the end of January he gets sacked and then the whole window was completely wasted The hate from the fans realky got to jones which made him kinda dig his own grave with the press conferences .. the ironic thing is most of the hate came because fans thought we were above hiring the manager of little Luton .. now they are in the premiership while we go down . You couldn’t make it up
-
We want 40m apparently.. it’s really hard to weigh up his value tbh.. as a free kick taker he’s probably best in the world it’s a world class attribute that can win you games.. As a in play cm he’s not fast and dynamic enough to be the best n that position but he’s probably solid enough and puts a shift in especially if he was surrounded by other players who can do the things he can’t.. I mean beckham wasn’t the greatest winger that could beat people for fun but like jwp had the delivery and in the right team could make him a match winner
-
I think it can be a really exciting fun season.. would love to see a 4-2–1-3 formation with two out of sulemana edozie and tella if we can keep him, with Alcaraz playing behind the striker that already has the making of championship porn add in a back from injury livremento into the mix and even if we lose quite a lot of the more senior players this is a basis for a really exciting championship team
-
Yeah but it’s not so much about what he has done but what he could do ..the guy is absolutely rapid and pretty nice close control too .. to be honest I’m not too bothered about losing any of our more senior players but it’s the likes of sulemana Alcaraz and edozie etc I really wanna keep think they will absolutely tear up the championship
-
Tbh I think I’d have probably dropped the likes of sulemana and Alcaraz as soon as it became evident we were down … better to try and sneak them off to the championship with us then put them in the shop window … That was always gonna be a reach with mr genius selles in charge though
-
Two good bits of news this week at least with him and semmens going .. selles probably takes the award for most depressing illogical team selections I’ve ever witnessed ..absolutely crazy to leave him in charge for that relegation battle..we went down with no fight whatsoever People used to rip every word jones said apart but man selles has got off lightly then .. talking about keep fighting and how we have proved we can compete .. you what ?? We haven’t even looked like winning
-
I think the idea is probably like how Rogers had Swansea playing ..if it works out, which I think we would all be happy with.. Alcaraz I think will be main man next season and think we will be pretty decent in the wide forwards or tens area too ..sulemana edozie or even if we somehow manage to keep tella could all tear it up in the championship so that’s a nice start to the squad .. I think it could be a enjoyable season tbh
-
I think at the moment the main issue with martin is that he’s been very process over results so far in his career .. his teams play good possession football but he’s yet to rip up trees results wise .. im all for us playing good football and getting away from the 442 off the ball pressing dirge but this time martin needs to also deliver results wise as well as just playing pretty football with his philosophy
-
Interesting interview here https://www.coachesvoice.com/cv/russell-martin-interview-mkdons-swansea-guardiola/ at the minute I’m a bit torn on him but it’s a big positive that he seems to favour on the ball play to the off the ball dirge fest we have had inflected upon us for so long .. so that and getting away from the 442 are huge plusses for me and also sounds like we will have our own identity which one would hope at best could be something like when Brendan Rogers had Swansea playing like Barca :).. on the other hand he does sound very process over results .. Swansea fans seem to think the great run of form was after he ditched his process.. also in the interview when asked about plan b he refers to if you have that you can’t believe in plan A too much.. At the moment though I just want as far away from this 442 Ralph selles shit as possible sick to death of that approach now at least this guy sounds like he wants to play football and dominate the ball so happy to give him a go
-
I don’t think playing in a centre midfield 2 really suits jwp tbh I think this is a huge huge part of the problem where we look so slow and ponderous and just end up playing negative slow back passes until we lose the ball .. we don’t have a dynamic midfielder to get us up the pitch so it ends up like this .. on the other hand in 433 I think having that extra body in the centre would give us more options and space on the ball and would have suited us much better .. jones playing jwp more as a acm was also a experiment that could have worked .. but this crap 442 we have been using just really gives so many problems with the personel we we using with it
-
Do you mean appointing a real manager ? selles deserves all he gets with his retarded team selections … when people thought jones was bad selles was like hold my beer
-
I think the choice between him and tall pall depends also on chance creation too .. I think che gets love because he does he does get stuck in and makes some impact on games, he doesn’t really going even though his finishing is shocking . Whilst Mara and pall can kind of not get in the game at all sometimes .. if we are playing decent football and creating a lot of chances I think the other two would be more clinical though
-
Agree let’s see if he means it .. I just kinda read it as what you would say to appease the fanbase but if he does mean it and is committed fair play to him
-
Whoever we get I hope it’s someone who embraces the more attacking players and isn’t all about off the ball bollocks.. sick to death of this now .. also would prefer a manager that prefers a variant of 433 unrealistic maybe but out of the managers we have talked about I’d go Rogers all the way has been pretty much successful every where he has been .. you can excuse him one dodgy year at Leicester after he had them pushing for champions league for couple of seasons
-
Just how absolutely slow and ponderous we are in possession you could make a parody out of it .. we have absolutely no idea how to get the ball moving up the pitch swiftly .. it’s been a problem for a long time slow sideways passing opposition only has to sit back and we can’t do anything
-
Here’s a plan wait until we are practically down and then start onuachu 🤦♂️… whether it works or doesn’t work why didn’t he try this before
-
So you really wasn’t happy with the way we were playing and watching the likes of lallana lambert j-rod wanyama etc under pochs style ..? God knows how bad you must feel watching selles teams 😀. outside of the 80s keegan era cortese reign was the most enjoyable for me .. we were great under koeman also but I still credit a lot of that to the foundations already in place
-
I didn’t mean just in the lower leagues .. it’s not easy for a promoted team in the prem but he brought in poch and we were playing like a team not far off of challenging for Europe when he left
-
I’m not sure how you can even pour water on the job he done .. was we not going from strength to strength all the time under him ?? did you feel like we were going to lose all our best players to the big clubs under him ?? He put in place people like Mitchell.. made a ruthless decision which fans didn’t agree with to sack adkins and found some nobody called Pochettino at the time to take his place .. the man was totally on the ball when he left he left the club in a great position we had a ton of good players throughout the squad top scouting still there with Mitchell.. I’ll agree that we did better under koeman but that was due to us recruiting very well in that period due to koeman and Mitchell and the winners mentality and infrastructure that was all left from the cortese era it’s funny how since then we have just become a depressing youth training scheme club that looks like inevitable relegation under nc we always felt a club on the up
-
Same way ankersson and semmens use dragons money .. I think it’s shocking cortese gets no credit he was the one that talked Markus into the deal and Markus admitted he’d only buy if cortese run it you guys are there with avatars of Markus but all he did was invest. cortese ran the club from top to bottom and was absolutely phenomenal at it .: people working for him probably didn’t like it as he took no shit and was a complete perfectionist .. id welcome him back with open arms it’s the only time in my saints supporting career we really had any ambition and not acting like a soft touch yts team for the bigger clubs :.his reign took a few years to dismantle and that’s where we have reached completely now
