  1. Not acceptable is a little harsh really.. really we are just paying for that blip at the start of the season when we lost 4 our current form is still superb 12 matches unbeaten the top 4 are being amazingly consistent it feels a bit like what have we got to do to catch up atm .. as long as we in this consistent run of form it’s hard to be mad at them
  2. I quote David in Sweden’s post above which explains it well “ Think you may be a trifle hard on AA ...(CB Fry) there is a lot of difference between playing for 80-90 minutes and wasting chances that come, and the opportunity to even having a chance to score. As an example last season. Adam Armstrong was automatic starter during Ralph's shorter term as a manager and started 11 times in the first 15 games albeit on left wing, (but did score the winning goal v. Chelsea), whereas Che Adams was always the main striker but seldom scored so often. The two subsequent managers disregarded Armstrong as a starting option and he was used as sub. on just 15 games during those remaining games. Closer study showed that around half of those were in the closing 10 minutes and several even in "added time" - not many chances there , and occasionally he had no goal chances at all. There has been an internal debate on here about the effectiveness of Che Adams as a lone striker and even when they both played in the same start side, as it was Che who had (and frequently missed) the most chances, and this was no favour to Armstrong who got less opportunities.”
  3. Ah right. So do you think che adams is a better premiership striker whilst arma can only do well in the championship then ? im not sure I buy this actually just cos idiots like Ralph and selles thought so doesn’t make it true.. we saw week in week out what che was.a shitty finisher with some decent ish hold up play.but we never really got to see a Adam Armstrong that got a good run in the team and got his confidence up .. just his pressing, pace, and finishing should see some goal threat imo
  4. Yeah agree Martin should take some credit, he’s been the only one to really put full trust in Arma and had the balls to change the pecking order and drop che .. it’s good vision by Martin to see things the previous managers didn’t
  5. I still think there’s a good chance he could cut it a prem level. As I said a while ago he never really got a decent run in the prem . In and out of the side .. lost out to broja early on and the manager always preferred che .. makas a ton of difference if the manager fully believes in you, he’s not perfect but he’s rapid enough ,closes down like a train and is a decent finisher
  6. He’s really found his mojo again It’s great to see not only is he finishing well his speed of closing down is rapid and causes defenders nightmares .. makes you wonder why he didn’t get more run under Ralph as it’s such a ideal attribute for pressing . bit of a lesson to those who like to criticise our squad players who haven’t had huge runs in the team .. arribo also looked terrific yesterday
  7. Personally him being injured is a huge huge blow .. his pace really gives the opposition something to think about, makes their fullbacks scared to attack.. him being in the team has coincided with our great run of form . Gutted he’s out
  8. Think sulamana has pretty much better attributes then tella with everything apart from finishing.. but tella is a 20 goal a season guy in the championship .. still think sulamana has more potential though
  9. This, seems crazy to see complaints about Martin right now after a long unbeaten run like this .. and after having to endure the likes of Ralph and selles picking dross like elyounoussi and such for off the ball crap russ’s Team selections seem flawless .. Happy with him and if we continue like this we can grind down the top two
  10. Don’t know why I bother expecting this anymore but I really hope we pretty much put our foot down and shut up shop in January ..we have a decent shot of going up and it would be super annoying to just let decent players leave in the middle of a promotion chase
  11. Totally agree, everyone was saying how shit arma was too before russ gave him a consistent run and Mara has had even less chances he showed some flashes of being decent Also gotta factor in we where totally shit last season
  12. His skill set could actually work quite well in a russ team. He’s technically very good, creative and also think he has a eye for an incisive through ball.. In a team that keeps possession should really suit him
  13. Think arribo has done reasonably well in a couple of his sub appearances.. he’s created chances in small amounts of game time .... it always bugs me the grief the bench/squad players get .. it’s very hard for them to come in for 10-15 minutes and impact a match Fraser is a rare exception.
  14. Without trying to nitpick I just wonder why you would put him above Lavia as our best signing for many years ? lavia was under half the price and proved it at premiership level
  15. It’s probably a lot to do with physicality that holds jwp back .. he doesn’t have the powerful physique of a lot of top top midfielders .. yet also doesn’t have skillset of a Maddison or grealish etc who could play much more advanced.. in a way he was very very fortunate that we seemed to persist and persist with him .. he didn’t really start giving us anything unti Ralph was in charge
  16. I’m talking about why do people care if he gets picked for England now .. he deserted us as soon as we dropped.. I fully understand the reasoning but any love towards him is now gone for me
  17. Who cares anyway .. he wanted out he’s gone..not sure why people want to see him rewarded for leaving the sinking ship
  18. We have taken 14 points out of a possible 18 in the last 6 games.. can’t really argue with that form. Also the Preston game we rested sulamana, Alcaraz stuey etc ..I think the line up with those in deserves to continue after such a good run of form don’t you ? no need to rush Ross back in that form
  19. Feel pretty relaxed about the Stewart situation at the moment.. we are playing well and winning most games.. at the moment it’s harsh to drop anyone to accommodate him.. in a way it’s set up perfectly to ease him in slowly and not be pressured into trying to rush him back .
  20. Alcaraz probably the next most likely after stuey for me ..Adams isn’t really first choice 11 anymore. Like others suggest whilst we are winning maybe ross will just be introduced off the bench initially. but I just think maybe the club will see higher ceiling in Alcaraz over stuey especially with the Argentina call up .. stuey is playing better this season though
  21. The trouble is now we have a settled starting like up, to accommodate Stewart someone will have to get dropped, I can’t see it being Arma or smallbone as russ loves both .. most likely to be stuey make way I think and that’s pretty harsh as he’s playing very well at the moment
  22. Tbh I’m alright with this result .. was a pretty weakened side from us .. no sula and Alcatraz .. long away trip to a tricky side like Preston.. 4 wins and two draws in last 6.. is decent form and plenty of improvement still possible.. only slight gripe i guess is that we maybe should of been going full strength in such a tricky fixture ..
  23. Dunno quite a few was claiming he was a 30 m player before last years summer window .. and better then broja apparently 😆.. he has quite a few fans
  24. No he’s just not that good..I think people have seriously overhyped him on here . Mainly for the reason he’s been in the side so much people have gotten to see his other attributes and tried to talk that aspect of his game up., the modern day ormerod or long with slightly differant attributes unfortunately having a striker that couldn’t finish his dinner is about as much good as having a keeper that don’t make saves 😱
  25. Kinda made this point before, but I just think the way we seem to be persisting with this young goalkeeper route is a waste of time.. the goalkeeper market is not that expensive . We could have picked up a decent ready to go keeper instead .. also the chances of us getting huge money/profits on the keeper isn’t that great even if he did turn out good .. don’t mean to be harsh but he was a liability last season and doesn’t seem to be a lot better this,, the team suffers giving him time to learn the ropes and if he does end up reaching the potential most of us are not even seeing he will probably fuck off anyway is it worth it ?
