  1. PSB are superb live, I thoroughly recommend going to see them on their UK tour in February
  2. Sunday Times headline in the sport section yesterday "Liverpool fans boo struggling Rodgers" FFS they even want our old 'Struggling Southampton' tag now
  3. Great win. Just slightly disappointed that with Chelsea's result the best we can hope for is another runner-up place in the league at the end of the season :tonguefirmlyincheek:
  4. In 2012 Tiff was after dinner speaker at a work do in Leeds, he was on his way out the building with a couple of polite 'sorry must rush!' to a few people and as he passed me I loudly said 'Up the Saints, Tiff!' to which he stopped and had a chat for 20 minutes about all things Saints. He may say he's only a 'recent' supporter but he spoke with some real passion about the team and the journey we were going on at the time. Top man!
  5. I like Stewart Lee's evaluation of the Paxmand - Brand interview; "It was like a chmpanzee throwing it's own excrement at a foghorn"
  6. Thanks Jeff, Trousers and TPBury. From the look of some of those goals I think he had a comedic hand in it
  7. My Dad passed away last Saturday, hope he had a good view of that, he'd have loved it!
  8. Wouldn't worry too much about any building contracts being in place. All the retailers are pretty happy to blow off a chunk of money in order to halt a store development. Better a million now than 18-20 million capital on a store that no longer meets strategy
  9. If you are going to bottle, I recommend getting a "Little Bottler" tap (these guys are great and where I get my equipment from; Home-brew-online.com). You'll need to put it on your FV before you start but it means a no mess direct bottling from the FV plus it automatically leaves a gap at the top of the bottles to allow secondary fermentation. Oh, talking of which - as for being your first go when it comes to bottling I recommend carbonation drops over than trying to get brewing sugar into bottles.
  10. I started last year and though using kits have tinkered by substituting sugars for spraymalts etc. There's some good kits for all levels, Woodfordes, Brew Buddy, Simply etc. So far after ten or so kits yet to make a bad batch, but the one advice I was given and stuck to is thoroughly sterilize everything! (And make sure it's rinsed after) Best thing was drinking all the beers to recycle the bottles for my brews. I use a mix of glass and plastic bottles and it makes no difference.
  11. An ex boss of mine booked Razor for a corporate awards ceremony as after dinner speaker back in 2010. Big do, 200 odd attendees, male & female, fairly conservative audience. Let's just say my boss nearly lost his job over that decision!
  12. Live at The Met. Timeless.
  13. I'm disappointed with what's going on (and i've tried to stay rational and dry at night), but whatever happens I feel sorry for my five and six year old boys who have become Southampton mad over the last two seasons and absorb every bit of Saints info they can get their hands on, repeating it parrot fashion back to me at what seems every opportunity. As a dad I was really pleased they chose Saints without the benefit of being taken to a match like I was to be hooked, especially as we live up north and they could quite easily have followed their mates with supporting United, City, Liverpool (and weirdly Chelsea). They so want a new shirt each this year having worn my old Rank Xerox Patrick shirts for last season and they love the stripes but I'll be damned if i'm forking out £80 of hard earned as tacit support for what's going on at the moment. Me, i'm stuck with Saints, however low or high the experience but I'm really struggling with whether I should start leading them a) towards one of the big boys to support to save them from abject disappointment that always seem to come with Saints or b) toward the local team (York) and take them to those games and let them start that relationship. Anyone else having similar thoughts?
  14. I actually LOL'd at all the drama queens and bedwetters on here over the last 24 hours having seen the kit. I won't by one for me i'm over 40 and a fat b@stard, but will definitely be buying my kids their first Saints kit this year
  15. Surely the England team's participation was a big waste of time?
  16. To the tune of 'Hurry Up Harry' (look it up kids) Koeman, Koeman, 'Urry up Ronald Koeman, Koeman, Koeman, 'Urry up Erwin Koeman, We've the Koemans at our club, We've the Koemans at our club
  17. Absolutely chuffed to bits with this. If this is a masterstroke by Les, when do we put him on the banner
  18. That, sir, is magnificent and you should bd applauded.
  19. Thinking of going to see York play this weekend and take the nippers (4 & 5) to their first match. £18 for me and £8 each for the kids though does seem steep. They could do withsome extra encouragement to achieve there second win of the season. It has absolutely no bearing on who the opposition happens to be this weekend... Bell anyone?
  20. "Barry Dewing, of the Portsmouth Independent Supporters Association, said: ‘In general there’s been a bit of rebuilding with local businesses. It’s a different club now. ‘It’s a bit surprising that they are now holding it against the present regime about what happened in the past.’" They're still a million miles away from getting it aren't they?
  21. Title decider then ;-)
  22. They are quite simply brilliant. Seeing them Monday in Leeds and the debut album was out this week and should chart in the top 20
