  1. I expect Agent A was duty bound to inform Ron of the Everton interest as he was their number one target, however it is pointed out to Ron by Agent A that there is a career path to Holland/Barcelona by staying with Saints. Negotiations progress with Les, Ron and Agent A and all of a sudden Ron is made aware of the wages on offer at Everton and shouts in his best Jerry Maguire "Show Me The Money!" Agent A questions whether the move, money aside, is in the best interests of Ron's career goals. Ron gets shirty, bins Agent A, signs up with Agent B - who mysteriously has done a lot of work to get everything in order for Ron already - and the rest history. I wouldn't be surprised that the Holland job is available around Christmas 2017 or the Barcelona job within 2 years and Ron will be off quicker than you can say 'Bindipper'. All IMHO of course *takes off tinfoil hat*
  2. And agent A thought RK was better off (assume career wise) at Saints.
  3. Talking with Adam Blackmore on Twitter it appears Ron sacked his agent because he wanted (the agent) to push De Boer for he Everton job and Ron wanted it. Make of that what you will
  4. So in summary: Koeman and agent 1 happy to talk at end of season about extending contract. Meanwhile agent 2 gets tip Everton want Koeman and starts early discussion telling Everton he can get him for right price. Agent 1 still working with Koeman and Saints on extension - which Ron happy with. Agent 2 then makes contact with Koeman and says 'I know you're happy at Saints but I have £7m on the table for you, you just have to bin agent 1 and come with me'. The rest just unfolds as it has. Cockroaches, the lot of them
  5. It's worrying...all the best candidates are getting other jobs...Monk, Coyle, Pearson, Di Matteo.... ;-)
  6. Can only think that the match ball was supplied by Harry Kane today. Surely that's the only way he was able to take all free kicks (dreadful), penalty (missed). I'm honestly surprised he didn't tell Hart he was taking the goal kicks too.
  7. We will never be Big-Time until we have a Harbour Potty-Dome...
  8. Nobody more surprised at that win than the York City fans. However it does explain what that unusual smell was up here last night ;-)
  9. Breakdown EP by Fourth Engine Debut release from this Bristol based synth duo. Think Portishead meats Moroder. https://fourthengine.bandcamp.com/releases
  10. Well it's a good start to my prediction league campaign
  11. Would love to hear Les' thoughts on the role of true England squad set-up and unsettling players.
  12. That can't be right, plenty on here thought that all our intel and Black Box targets would be off to Spuds when Paul Mitchell left?
  13. Took my 6 & 7 year old lads to their first game yesterday, so wanted a Saints win more than ever to seal their allegiance for good. Kelvin was superb, what a pro, Pellé impressed me with his hold up play - being such a size though an asset I can see why weak refs give fouls against him as defender's get knocked off him. Thought friend wasn't going to give the pen and boys were delighted to see Pellé score. We do seem intent to try and walk the ball into the net and a reluctance to shoot - we have some good opportunities to work the keeper but nobody seems to want to have a crack from the edge of the box, or just outside. All in 560 mile round trip, happy boys and back just in time to watch MoTD's rubbish highlights. Only downside was i couldn't find any giant foam hands to buy :winkything:
  14. Taking my 6 & 7 yr old lads to their first game. Nothing but a win will do
  15. The wife was cabin crew before and after 9-11 and she and a number of her colleagues had a tacit acceptance that if this happened then they were, to put it bluntly, expendable to prevent access to the flight deck
  16. sorry guys, been busy. Yes, alluding to the possibility of a terrorist act? Easier to just crash an aircraft rather than crash into something in particular? My wife worked for the same airline as FF and she was trying to remember if the flight deck doors were keylocked or digilocked. But certainly at this stage nothing confirmed.
  17. Or unfortunately something more sinister.
  18. Yes absolutely, but I wonder how much that not 'winning' anything sealed his fate with our ex-chairman?
  19. Top, top bloke. Will always have a special place at Saints, and a special place in my heart. The only lasting negatives are we were never champions of either league 1 or the Championship (a bit of me thinks he (and the team) bottled the Reading game).
  20. Similar to a Chelsea fan I know; Been going to games since the 80's when they were sh!te, was a shareholder, follows them round Europe etc. Anyway, he has said it was great for the first couple of seasons winning games regularly, but after that the expectation changed and combined with rising ticket prices, realisation it was no longer 'your' club and a plaything for a trigger happy billionaire changed the whole experience of the club. Still, hasn't stopped him becoming an arrogant arse about it all.
  21. Some of our more 'learned' posters have openly slated Billy as second rate and not fit beyond the Championship. Like many outsiders did with Rickie. Personally I would have liked Billy to have been given a fair crack in the PL. We have been in dire need of a six yard striker in many games this season and Billy could have done that job. I'd like to know why, and who decided he wasn't up to it, and I get the impression Billy does too.
  22. Tokes, seriously recommend Volvo XC60. Had one last year for 6 months. Practicallity with two nippers was unbeatable, D4 was a decent drive, got 900 miles out of a tank of diesel (using e-drive) though usually managed at least 750. Loads of kit on the SE and deals around £220 a month on lease.
  23. Born on IoW, moved to Kingsworthy, remember kids at school either being Liverpool or Saints, chose Saints, got bought Rank Xerox kit, got taken by friends to first game at Dell vs Aston Villa in 1982 (lost 2-0) but that didn't matter by that time the die was cast. I have vague memories of being driven up and down the M3 by my dad to watch all the fans driving up to Wembley (must have been for the 1979 League Cup final, i'd have been too young for '76) and remember being amazed at all the scarfs hanging out the cars and coaches, banners hanging from the bridges etc. That probably swayed me away from the decision to support Liverpool at school.
  24. I've heard his head is already in Southampton...
