Make no mistake, Højbjerg is a player with an immense potential. He is by no means the finished article, but if he can improve his game at Saints, he could be a massive player for us. Back to the unfinished article comment: in the national side he has come in from the U21s and claimed a spot in central midfield. While obviously a very gifted player he still lingers a bit too much on the ball and often takes stupid chances. In our EC2016 playoffs against Sweden, Denmark was outclassed by Zlatan in particular and as the team came under pressure, Højbjerg started taking more and more chances in midfield, several times losing possessíon in dangerous positions. Generally though, he is a gifted midfielder and a real warrior. His committment to the team is second to none and he is mature beyond his years. In my opinion, his loan move to Augsburg was a highlight of his career. He went to a completely unfancied outfit and acted as a real leader in midfield helping them to a surprising EL spot.

Was this article. Written by Neil Allen? It sure looks like it was. -
Saints announce Virgin Media as new main club sponsor

I don't know how much it increased in 15/16, but yes it is an area with room for improvement. Hopefully the kit and sponsor deals will take us some of the way, and Krueger's attempts to raise our profile in the US market even further... -

Along with the Under Armour deal, I hope this push us upwards in this table - that is the key for us to establish ourselves in the top half of the PL: -
Relegated Teams - Players who would you buy from their Squads?
Lazlo78 replied to le_tiss's topic in The Saints
Nope. Whelk posted it on here with no contextual info - I questioned the authenticity of the quote, but got no reply http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?56485-The-Mid-Week-Games-Thread&p=2335701#post2335701 I tried googling parts of the quote with no luck, so I'd say it's doubtful that he really said it... -
Did he really say this in an interview?

So Leicester, Everton and Palace are the only teams we have not beaten in the league so far?

Bale certainly went from scrawny to brawny, didn't he? -
I was convinced that it was number 4, but the short highlights at Footyroom didn't reveal if it was Clasie or Davis. So now you've made me watch the whole MOTD to find out 5 minutes from the end that it was indeed Davis! http://www.fullmatchesandshows.com/2016/02/13/bbc-match-of-the-day-week-26-full-show/#2

Post-Match Reaction: Swansea City 0-1 SAINTS

Based on the historical target of 40 points, yes we are safe, but mathematically? -
Wonderful cross for Long at the end of the 1st half. Perfectly whipped in over the head of Fernandez and Long admitted after the game that he wasn't ready for it - he thought the defender would go for it...
-
I'm assuming he chose to take a break from social media because the recurring injuries are mentally hard on him. Most likely he has focused on recovery and now - as he sees light at the end of the tunnel - he is ready to engage with the fans again...

I actually thought that by the time Bertrand was back from injury, we were done with the 3 at the back - but I'll take your word for that he has been tried as wingback. And you've certainly added to the list of little things that are suddenly clicking to make a horrible, negative formation turn into a strong foundation for our game. We are not playing the prettiest football in this formation, but we're not too defensive either...
-
I wonder why the 3-5-2 is suddenly working, when it was clearly forced into a 5-3-2 against Watford and Midtjylland at the beginning of the season. I guess it's a combination of things - van Dijk/Bertrand in the back three instead of Caulker/Yoshida, Clasie and Wanyama firing on all cylinders, team confidence generally improving etc.

Lallana just got a new "best moment", I'd say...

Reed was left out of the squad for this match as he refused to sing the national anthem before the game. From what I heard, they may even revoke his UK work permit!

When Pellè is on fire, I think he offers more than Long, but as soon as this team is going through a bad spell, Long adds some fight and energy into the team. We were running out of steam over November and December, but 2 x Long (vs. Arsenal & Watford) has led us to two victories and away from the drop zone. In that perspective, the £12M isn't horrible for a safety net! I still think Pellé on fire adds something different and perhaps something more than Long. We should hang on to both...
-
Yoshida also made a very bad pass that looked like he was deliberately trying to manufacture a move away from the club. They should be ashamed of themselves...
-
Fingers crossed that he will walk again - I wasn't even aware the injury was that serious!

Maybe we interpret "beating" differently?
