Steven Davis is a fantastic player, he's not underrated by the people who understand football because they recognise what he contributes to the team. Just for once watch what he does off the ball and appreciate the fantastic work rate and vision he has.

Absolutely not. 6 goals conceded with him playing, only 3 when he's not. Always backs away from strikers allowing them to shoot. Great servant to the club but just not good enough at this level.

Best game I saw him play was against us for Derby in a night game at the Dell. Must have been that one that convinced the Saints management to sign him.

Would you swap Osvaldo for Negredo given the performances this season?

I went to watch Steve Williams make his debut for Arsenal at Chelsea. I was gutted he had left us and watching him was part of the recovery process. (Still not completely over it now.)

Lester Shapter. Must have been around 1978 when we played Fulham at the Dell and they had George Best, Booby Moore and Rodney Marsh. He sent off both Best and Moore, absolutely fantastic atmosphere. Of the latter day refs Alan Wiley is my pick, always tried to let the game flow. Uriah Rennie has to be the fittest ref I've seen, he used to overtake players when they were breaking at speed.

I agree that it's the nippers who are missing out. I was a season ticket holder for 11 years, stopped going for various reasons a couple of years ago but my 7 year old son supports Saints because of me. I take him to a couple of matches each year but with us not being on the TV much he is beginning to sway towards Reading (the local team). Taking him to Wembley would have been a superb day out for him and would have cemented Saints as being 'his team' but as I was only eligible for 1 ticket neither of us will be going and boy do I feel gutted.
