6-1? Ouch. I should be around next Sunday if needed, any plans the missus may have notwithstanding.

One minor point - figures for quoted Titanic are US box office takings, while the GTA4 ones are worldwide (Titanic was actually the first film to break the $1bn mark). Besides, the fundamental flaw with the film/games argument is that a cinema ticket costs £8 while a game costs £40. Games may make more money than films but more people watch films. So which is biggest? Who knows, as both are depending on how you measure it. And a quick Google search turns up articles quoting that the porn industry was worth £30bn pa in 2005 (which is what, $55bn?). I've no idea how much the other two industries are worth but I find that figure quite interesting.

Of course, England fans are whiter than white, aren't they? (No pun intended!)

Okay then smartarse, if you're so certain of the fact that BWP's signing had no impact on Blackstock leaving, how do you know that had we not signed BWP in July 2006 that Blackstock would not have had a regular place in the first team? At the time, Jones was still on the periphery of the squad and far from showing signs of fulfilling his potential and Fuller was about to leave shortly after the season began. To my mind, the signing of BWP pushed Blackstock down the pecking order, bearing in mind that for the only time all the strikers (along with Rasiak) were are at the club together, Jones and Blackstock didn't even make it on to the bench. And I'm sure you'll forgive me if I don't treat all that I read on here with any real level of faith of it being Gospel, regardless of it "being said enough times".

To me the big thing is that we let Blackstock go because we got BWP. Who honestly wouldn't go back in time and change that?

I would just like to say "Hello The9". I know for a fact he is screaming at his monitor at the fact he is unable to reply! :smt039

Co-Commentators (and how Claridge should be banned!)
Danny replied to Sheff Saint's topic in The Saints
Well for the first 25 minutes or so we were all over the place, so I'd be surprised if anyone said anything good about us then. I didn't hear Claridge yesterday, but usually I find him fair and actually quite a decent pundit. -
Doesn't suggest to me that Saganowksi 'misses' Burley, but rather than he simply liked working under him when he (Saganoswki) first came here. Results haven;t been as good since we got to the Play-offs, but for most of that time Burley was still the manager. With the benefit of hindsight, it just looks to me that Burley simply lost interest and was just going through the motions. Whatever the catalyst for that was, we can only speculate.

All the best Mick. Fingers crossed for you.

PA copy. What is in the printed edition is completely different to the site. -
I've definitely had to forgo saved games on FM before after installing a patch, but I'm willing to accept I may have been in the minority in that regard. I never said that console games didn't have bugs, I merely pointed out that they didn't (until this generation of consoles) have the luxury of installing patches. All games have bugs, that can't be helped. I just get annoyed that developers seem to have this attitude of fixing it later. By now, SI should be able to turn around a release of FM without a patch being released with weeks (if not sooner) of the game hitting the shelves.
-
Nonetheless, there is nothing more annoying than playing through a bugged game, only to find that all your progress has to be lost if you want to apply the patch. Until recently, console games never had patches, so were they better tested than PC games such as FM?

Copyright law mean anything to you?

Looks like it!

There's also one on Manor Farm Road in Bitterne Park, near to the school.

Boo to the evil dark side!

Don't email them. If you're keen, ring them up (before you ring anyone up though, make sure you know their latest edition inside out). Only then should you email to follow it up. You'll probably find that weekly newspapers are the best place to start looking, followed by daily ones. Magazines and broadcasters sometimes aren't quite so forthcoming when it comes to workies - especially the Beeb. Be flexible and no matter what you do, do not ask what time you'll finish!!
-
Because the club didn't make a big deal about him not being allowed to play against us, I assume he is.

14 pints is not beyond the realms of possibility. Far from it in fact. May not be the smartest to do but it doesn't mean you're certainly going to end up in hospital with alcohol poisoning.

I assume this is a civil case rather than a criminal one?

I'll be honest I find it a bit patronising, especially the bit about "hoping to play for Southampton again in the Premiership". He should have just said, "Thanks for eveything, I enjoyed my time but want to play in the Premier League." The rest of it is just trying to play us for fools. Now, how much of it actually came from his mouth is another matter all together....

Fairly standard these days. How many transfers have "undisclosed fees" on Sky Sports News for example? Most of them, I imagine.
