  1. If you don't like the sentiments expressed on this thread perhaps with respect it is you that needs to move on. Rally boy has given us some truly funny posts and a lot of pleasure and long may it continue. Like someone else said, this takeover is not completed yet, their fans think they own the club but the simple fact is they don't. When the penny eventually drops you watch the fall out from where you want, if its alright to you I shall watch it on here.
  2. I'd rather not but I take your point.
  3. That is very true but he had age and no big expectations on his side. Pelle is anticipated (probably unreasonably) to hit the ground running. He needs another striker to help him and hopefully RK is on the case
  4. Haven'taclue?
  5. He'll go to QPR, Harry is getting desperate.
  6. Yes I guess so. I am a little bit underwhelmed by him though, he talks the talk alright but don't think he has an actual position. He's a bit of a jack of all trades master of none.
  7. The trouble for Pelle is he's not inexperienced so fans cut him less slack, he comes with a high reputation as a goal scorer which equates to high expectations and as Vectis says there is no back up with Gallagher still out with whatever it is he is out with. Plus he replaced the irreplaceable in some fan's eyes. I must admit watching yesterday I suddenly appreciated how much Lambert brought to the side even as he slowed. Maybe a showing at the New Den will kick start his season...if he plays.
  8. Its been good to see most on this forum are agreed that the small section of fans that booed and then ironically cheered Pelle yesterday are mindless morons. Yes he had a very poor game and has done little to catch the eye up to now but he must be given time to adjust and settle. The new year would be a good time to make a fuller appraisal. I remember a young Mick Channon spending more time on his arse than on his feet in the early days and "Dockers Corner" cat calling him Doreen Channon whenever he ventured within hearing. On the other hand big Ron Davies scored in his third game, again in his fourth, failed in his fifth but then scored in the next ten games. And speaking of Davies how about his namesake, Kevin, who debuted off the bench v Bolton in 1997, dipped a shoulder and went past two defenders within a minute of coming on. We knew we had a star and he was knocking them in with regularity until Irwin crocked him for half a season. Pahars was another who hit the ground running. So some players settle quickly, others take longer, but the trouble is in the Premiership time is at a premium and a new breed of fan grows increasingly impatient at a quicker rate. You only have to look at Old Trafford in recent months to see that.
  9. Pelle was booed by a few at the back of the Northam, take it from me as I winced when I heard it and so did others. I have to say though not only was he poor, immobile and isolated he didn't show any great desire. It is early days but I remember watching the young Kevin Davies come on for his debut at home to Bolton and within a few minutes a dip of the shoulder and a surging run at the defence and his career was off and running.
  10. Saints fans always shoot messengers with bad news....FACT
  11. Pelle was worse than dire. I would not condone some of the booing today but at times he did not look interested whatsoever. Truly shocking performance.
  12. There was not one memorable moment in the whole game, it was utter dross and incredibly depressing. I know its early days but Pelle showed absolutely nothing and Tadic is a rich man's Ramirez. Underwhelmed. West Brom also had a new manager and plenty of new players but they looked more a team and they finished the more likely.
  13. Sorry I don't take much notice of performances in friendlies.
  14. have to say I think we were really poor. I only watched the 2nd H so things might have been different in the first 45mins.
  15. Here #6105
  16. Saint-Ed said yesterday he had been told two arrivals were imminent
  17. I follow @ArturBoruc on twitter but haven't got all these latest ones from him
  18. We need to encourage this sort of thing so well done. I seem to remember being in a pub called the Imperial but if memory serves it was in Kings Cross in Sydney. Mind you that was back in the 80s. Just one word of advice when writing about football best use English parlance ie equaliser and not equalizer. But the more Saints fans in the world the better so keep going
  19. Me and Manji would get on like a house on fire in real life
  20. I thought that then supposed he has a release clause?
  21. They have rescued their club but there is not one ounce of humility about them, they really think they are the bestest and while they display such a collective arrogance I will continue to laugh at their lowly predicament!
  22. He was impressive and the commentators (Tyler and Neville) both praised his contribution. He has a brain, he is quick with his feet and reads the game well for one so young.
  23. I missed GM's post first time around but it adds up perfectly.
  24. I missed GM's post first time around but it adds up perfectly.
  25. This, the club have said no such thing
