  1. Hardly any of us will "know" what exactly happened so instead we have to read through the lines and make assumptions that may or may not be correct. But this is a forum where we put forward our views and thoughts based on what we think. Sometimes they will be praising the club and sometimes they won't be. I happen to think the club is well run and we are lucky to have a genuine owner who considers the fans and is in it for all the right reasons. However just occasionally we don't get it right and I do think the club have messed up a tad with this transfer, preferring to think they would be successful in getting TA using the legal route. That appears to have backfired despite it seems us meeting Tottenham's valuation yesterday. By then the horse had bolted. A great shame because I think TA was integral to our improvement last season and he will be sorely missed, but no one gets things 100% and if lessons are learnt so much the better.
  2. If AM have missed triggering the £1.5m buy back clause, why are we now offering 20m euros when the original contract says we only have to offer the original 6.8m?
  3. Spent last season in FC Twente's Reserves - will try and keep an open mind but his pedigree is certainly nothing to write home about.
  4. I think this is a genuine question worthy of debate but Alpine's pro Cortese comment does undermine his argument, for us to be a big club like Spurs we need a bigger fan base and a bigger stadium for starters!
  5. This has now got messy. We don't need this distraction to linger on through the summer.
  6. Not sure many on here laud him any more. Hero to zero in record time but there were plenty who thought he was the dogs ******** at the time
  7. First thing a union rep is taught is how to read an A4 piece of paper upside down
  8. Damn good post
  9. I know where you are coming from here Bern but fans that go to matches or even watch on tv do often get the gist of whether a player is any good or not. Sure Koeman knows best but the proof of Elia's worth can be seen in the comparative low fee being asked for him
  10. Buying 2 - 3m players with an eye on the Europa league is not imo the way forward. Not sure Elia is cut out for the Prem and that being the case no point in buying him
  11. Did you? Apart from the brace he scored at Newcastle I saw absolutely nothing impressive about him. Would prefer Djuricic to be honest.
  12. No he went to Banister Court School
  13. I have spoken to my contact at Spurs, he said they are preparing a British record bid for Martin Chivers.
  14. OMG that is so bad, it was like watching Crossroads - you want to turn it off but its awfulness is so captivating
  15. She certainly struck me as someone who had caught the "Southampton bug" and I gather her son is keen too. That can't be a bad thing.
  16. Be careful using Hiley's book - full of errors!!!!! Just for your info we have just agreed with the club to bring out (next year), the Matches of this Millenium and are at present drawing up a list.
  17. Not heard from SO16 for 3 days now, should we be concerned?
  18. Always a sad day for a young pro - I wish them well
  19. I agree Ward-Prowse did ok after replacing Djuricic but the Serb has up until yesterday only had 2 starts and it was worth having another look at him I thought he looked quite good yesterday.
  20. Djuricic inc yesterday only had 3 starts for us - hardly much of a chance. I think he has something and maybe worth a punt depending if we can beat Benfica down
  21. Um maybe some rate him to be a better player?
  22. It was cold Very disappointed in as much the Saints management didn't seem to have a clue tactically last night - we were pulled all over the place and yet no one changed anything. Sam Gallagher should have come inside, he was wasted on the wing, hardly got a decentball all night and Seager faded after a bright start. Reed was poor imo - he offers defensive destructive qualities but not much else. Thought McQueen did alright and Mugabi got in some good tackles but that was about it. Hesketh was like a puppy chasing a feather all night. He has promise but very undisciplined.
  23. Worth watching, very clever
  24. You obviously think getting beaten by City is a worth a "lol"? You post a lot of sense normally but sometimes you try to be too clever.
  25. Glad you think it funny
