Yea but this strop including him flouncing out of Staplewood midway through a training session
-
Actually this is the 10th time we have qualified for Europe although in 85-86 we were later disqualified along with all other English clubs because of Heysel
-
Here's another one - we have qualified 10 times for European Cups (inc the one when English clubs were banned because of Heysel) while "the city that never quits" have qualified once after they "bought" the FA Cup with money they never actually had.
-
Yep spot on and I gather pelle pulls a few strops in training too
-
"The City that never quits" headline is truly vomit inducing. Neil Allen is an embarrassment to his profession.

Premiership stadiums getting bigger, hope we don't get left behind

Maybe but I was surprised West Ham have sold 52,000 STs next season -
Koeman's potential imminent departure?

The messenger (especially if he bears bad news) always gets shot on this forum, it's an occupational hazard. Some Saints fans just won't countenance anything negative said about the club, even if it's true. Unfortunately this particular story being reported by just about everyone might have legs, so today's presser is an ideal opportunity to quash things, if indeed it is just journalistic hogwash. Whatever I just hope Koemans future either way is sorted.

Worth the gamble I reckon

I refer you to the post of Florida Marlin (who has excellent connections) on another thread which indicates Howe did not "refuse" our offer The reason Howe was meh! at Burnley was domestic. His wife hated t'north, and didn't move up there. Howe is a big family man and perhaps his heart wasn't totally in it (which maybe doesn't speak volumes for his professionalism). There would be no such issues if he came here. For all his love of Bournemouth, my understanding is that he would jump at the chance to come here, and the myth that he previously turned us down can be discounted. At the time the myth 'he turned us down' was being created, he was actually being touted and offered to us by Eddie Mitchell who was desperate for the cash. We, in fact, spurned Mitchell's advances and said ' no thanks' and the myth that Howe turned us down was created as a bit of face-saving on Mitchell's part.

I was referring to Cortese's ruthlessness ie I think he might have swung the axe if indeed RK was just intending to see out his contract and not renewing.
-
I honestly believe that if RK intended to stay beyond his 3 years then as with Pochetino positive contract talks would be near conclusion. Were Cortese still here I think RK would be given an ultimatum this summer. I hope the Board are already putting Plan B into operation and for me having Howe on our doorstep is a real opportunity that I hope is not lost due to Koeman's prevarication.

70% of yesterday's crowd never set foot in The Dell

Pelle Set to Leave For China - Telegraph
Fitzhugh Fella replied to Guided Missile's topic in The Saints
Your source is full of crap - I saw Pelle turn up about half an hour before ko -
If only Tadic did that every game Good performance from him but he needs to do it week in week out

Those last 4 words will haunt you forever

You can say what you like about L Mac and certainly he is far from perfect but having spent Friday morning in his company and watching how he still cleverly works the media, appreciates the fans, praises the club, talks to the ex-players that he is one shrewd cookie. Canny, quick, articulate, pr savvy he had it all and used it to great effect. He's done a helluva lot for Saints, he can be an absolute bas**** when he wants to be but even now as he approaches his 80s he is still an asset and a worthy ambassador.
-
This is a great idea and can only help to spread the club's name around the world. Good Luck Trev and I hope the club give you support and publicity.
-
Got to be a sinister cover up probably involving the S Yorkshire police
-
I spent the morning with L Mac, Mel Blyth, Jim McCalliog and Hughie Fisher today co hosting the Julian Clegg show on Solent and I think this anniversary is going to be mega and well worth attending. Tommy Doc and the ref, Clive Thomas are attending and Mike Osman has really pushed the boat out. Think it will be great if the show this morning was anything to go by, everyone was on great form and I reckon this will be the last time. Enjoy the night.

Unlike you to "question" something?

I think many on here have a soft spot for "karma"

As his biggest critic I have been watching him closely the last few games and while I admit he is capable of playing that killer ball (better than any other player in our squad) he still frustrates the hell out of me with his over elaboration (especially inside the area). There is a good player deep within him but it is too inconsistently seen and I don't think he shows strong character. Koeman must agree to an extent because up until recently he rarely gave him the full 90 minutes.

A balanced and entirely accurate view
