Can't really see why you bother with forum speculation threads then?

This could be Les Reed's biggest challenge to date especially as LeG has suggested it will only be a loan player that comes in. Surely virtually impossible to get a quality striker on a temporary basis?

Targett had an op yesterday

Don't think I have ever woken up feeling so underwhelmed about a game of football. Just can't see us scoring. The memory of us chasing two goals in 10 minutes only to bring on Ward-Prowse will haunt me for a long time. But I am going to get behind the team for the duration of the game even if it takes some effort.

Feel for the lad but Puel and Reed stupidly raised expectations comparing him to Henry. Redmond is a useful squad player, he has been massively overplayed.
-
Trouble is it all depends who buys us, devil you know and all that. We had a bad window last summer in hindsight and we are suffering now, but should she wish to stay I believe she will do the right thing. Reed has lost a bit of credibility recently, it's been tough, but he needs to stop believing his own hype and get his finger out.

Made me smile and I am afraid very likely to happen

The positive thread (doom merchants need not read)

As we were reminded last night at least we are still in the CheckAtrade Cup too. Exciting days -
I would not contemplate dismissing Puel, but I would if I was the Chairman be asking Reed a few questions as to whether he had given Puel enough tools to do the job and clarifying our priorities.
-
We did not say that moron

If Cortese was still in charge I wonder if Puel would survive the day? Or maybe he would be staring at Reed? Not that I'd want Cortese back I hasten to add.

Saints 1 Hapoel Be'er Sheva 1 - Match & Meltdown Thread

Thanks for putting into words exactly how I feel. Your post at least reassured me someone is feeling my pain. -
Saints fans of more senior years will be saddened by the news of the passing of ex-goalkeeper Dave Maclaren who has died in Australia aged 82. He played for us 26 times during our inaugural season in the top flight, 1966-67. Famously he was in goal for Wolves the previous season when we beat them 9-3, but manager Ted Bates still went ahead and signed him the following year when Campbell Forsyth broke a leg. Those at that Wolves match reckoned the score would have been well into double figures had it not been for Dave's exploits between the posts but, even so, the fact we signed a 'keeper having put nine past him has always been a source of amusement and made him a bit of a legend. Dave has been living in Australia since the 70s and all thoughts go to his family and friends.

With respect you didn't talk to the Palestinians incarcerated in the Gaza Strip. Don't think you find a single person remotely happy with their predicament
-
And yet you are making a political point on a football forum?
-
Think they make a valid point actually and they have a right to make a peaceful protest.

As CB Fry has deliberately misinterpreted a previous post I made about Higgins and is even suggesting I have stuck up for him I would like to categorically state that is nowhere near my position. I sincerely hope he is prosecuted and if found guilty they throw away the key. At the present I still believe Saints as a football club did what they could under the circumstances they were faced with when the judge made his bewildering decision. They could only deal with what was public knowledge at the time.
-
You really are quite an unpleasant person trying to be funny over an issue that is far from amusing. My point remains that as far as the present club is concerned none of these new revelations are suggesting Saints were in the wrong. It seems at the time of the court case many sat tight lipped with the result Higgins wriggled free (with the help of a deluded judge). Indeed some are still in denial ( Shearer), but back then the climate was different and to speak out was a tough ask. Now let's see how you twist this latest post into something snide and nasty.
-
But it's all historical abuse for which he was tried and not found guilty. I am not saying he is innocent but as far as I can tell all these players coming forward are talking about events that happened in the 80s. Begs the question had they come forward before or at the time of the trial then maybe a conviction would have been obtained.

If they bring a 1000 that is s impressive particularly as we ny took 300 with an average age of 54! Think we will need to be full strength for this one which means the inclusion of Bertrand and Soares please.
-
My worry is this has come on the back of stories Virgil could trigger a release clause and leave in January too. Hopefully Reed would be fully aware of this possibility and has replacements lined up but they would need to settle which takes time we don't have. Jose has been immense for us and it would be a shame if it ended with ill feeling on either side. Had he not done so well with Portugal than this may not have happened - another example of international football doing us no favours. All eyes turn to Reed I suppose.
