  1. Reed Flanagan Stephens Hesketh Olomola Barnes Sims etc have hardly been flogged to death so far this season.
  2. Well done for going and ta for the report back
  3. Is that the best you can do? You sound like a third rate Trousers.
  4. Europa League = Checkatrade Hierarchy not really bothered despite the club's pre-match media hype.
  5. Barnes and Seagar both back in full training and what about Olomola. This is our U18 side without a doubt.
  6. Protests court publicity that's a fact of life and will take place at public places. That includes sporting arenas. Apartheid in S Africa was defeated and sports boycotts played a significant part. I dare say the white S Africans didn't like their stadiums and sports men and woman being targeted but it had the desired effect. You lot are just being insular.
  7. Yea my views on Lowe (since slightly tempered - he meant well) earned me quite a few enemies. As for Palestine I believe Israel is conducting an illegal form of apartheid and should be brought to task. I know the Palestinians are not 100% blameless and should accept Israel's right to exist but what has happened in Gaza is shocking. I have met some great Jewish people (equally horrified what is going on in Gaza) so would not to condemn Israel in general but the politicians on the right have created a situation that is unacceptable and I admire those who protest. Hope you have a good trip
  8. Slight exaggeration maybe but if you checked out the après match Stoke thread there weren't many with a good word. But football is fickle when we win we're up and when we lose we're down.
  9. Nah I have more faith in the Board than you. Guy Askham maybe I would have my doubts but I am sure Ms Liebherr would not sell us short. She's come too far and so have we.
  10. Amazing how one game can change perspectives totally. Two days ago we were desperate to sign at least one striker and most on here were baying for J Rod to be sent on loan. Delighted for him as I am, we still need to replace Austin in January as I still think J Rod is a work in progress. We signed Billy Sharp in the Jan and his goals got us over the line.
  11. I think when we lose this is a place to vent frustrations, the happy clappers don't like that, some see criticism of Saints as an affront to their manhood almost.
  12. yea but worth throwing a few million at a quality loan player whose goals can earn millions in final league placings. Austin has to be replaced, today was good but if we are to stand any chance v Liverpool we still need a lot more up front an,d don't forget we will be without Boufal which already looks like a big loss.
  13. Yea I agree. Boufal is pure class but he'd be better still if he cut out the histrionics and the simulation. He makes football look easy.
  14. Just when patience was beginning to wane with J Rod he does that. Really pleased for him. Good performance today and one I didn't expect which makes it all the sweeter. Getting runners into the box, a la Davis for our second goal is so important
  15. Boufal undermines his skill with silly simulation - I sense a potential red card here
  16. And vice versa of course
  17. Really good reasoned post. Thanks
  18. Although I doubt there are many who will remember him, I think it only right that his passing, aged 80, is recognised on this forum. Barry played 9 times for Saints between 1957 and 1957. A full-back he left the pro game aged 23 to build a successful business in the Titchfield area. I met him once back in the 80s after Gary Chalk and my first book was published and he was a lovely charming man and big a Saints fan. He leaves a wife and daughter and 2 grandchildren so my thoughts are with them.
  19. Nothing wrong with peaceful protests and you don't have to go to a country to become involved in sticking up for the oppressed. Manji gives me a helluva hard time on this forum, I don't know why but at least he has a political conscience and is prepared to do something about it. No doubt you have a cosy comfortable life and good for you, but it's no crime to fight for, or protest on behalf, of those that are living a life you and I could never contemplate. Let him be.
  20. Perhaps we should let Puel speak in his native tongue. Then at least those educated to O level French standard would make more sense out of what he is trying to say. He really is the most un-animated of men, how the hell he impressed Reed in his interview I haven't a clue.
  21. trousers I think you need counselling - your obsession with desperately trying to find a positive is becoming a bit nauseous. Why don't you try and just let your true feelings come out without spinning? Genuine question.
  22. The infatuation with Redmond goes on, the lad must be knackered
  23. Sam made 20 odd Premiership appearance 3 years ago - he's not a complete novice, most were from the bench but he has scored in the Prem and has an FA Cup goal for us too. I would leave him at Blackburn where he is positively thriving with a manager who rates him but if we can't get anyone else then I might think again
  24. Make that a double, although they lost. Great finish for his second.
  25. Yea got the minutes from this meeting which makes interesting reading
