Marbella? Classy place.....for a Russian.

He's only 21 and getting better all the time. I have watched him quite a bit live this season and he has improved two fold. His last match v Brentford he was leading the line with skill, determination and pace. He has all the qualities to replace Jay Rod imo and has a good temperament.

Writing off a 21 year old who virtually every Championship side is busting a gut to sign makes no sense. Not many 6' 4" strikers can fly down the wing like Sam and yet he is being written off because "he scored goals for a relegated side"! Wow!

If I was a betting man I would wager Virgil will outstay Claude in terms of departing SMS.

By then he will have less than a year left on his contract and could run it down. -

Was at Brentford yesterday and thought Sam had an excellent game, a view endorsed by Sky commentators and the Guardian. A shame there appears to have been anyone from Saints there monitoring as they would have seen a performance of strong running, aerial domination and superb link up play. I may be biased but there is a danger the club may be about to let a real prospect slip from their grasp. -

And don't forget another reason to back Sam now is his goals for Rovers could send Brum and more importantly Harry down. -
Love to see one of these leaflets

Yes we have talked to the club and they are keen so we are looking at a 2017/8 publication. -

I agree entirely. Blackburn can't afford him but Saints seem to be reluctant to talk. -

To keep him the club would have to offer him a new contract as his existing one runs out in 12 months. -

He's had 2 injuries since Jan, a gashed leg needed 12 stitches and then a hamstring so a lot of those 12 games have been off the bench. With Saints seemingly not bothered there are a lot of Championship clubs beating a path to Ewood and I see Moyes was there again yesterday. I am biased but I really think he has what it takes both in footballing terms and character wise. Certainly Coyle and Mowbray have both been very impressed. -

Sam wins the penalty that gives Rovers their first win under Mowbray. David Moyes watching in the Stands. -

The irony in you suggesting we need to arrange an extra game would surely be lost on Puel? -

Palace must be awful to get thumped at home by that lot. What is it with Jay Rod? After last week's first half perhaps he should wind his neck in. Good win perfect timing just wish we had Barry for Europe. -
I have been jousting with you Bern since the turn of the century and back then you admitted to rarely going to games. Does that make your opinion less valid. Yes it does is my honest opinion. Doesn't make you an inferior fan I guess, although your pennies don't swell the club coffers. Historians are rarely able to write about history with the benefit of being there however so don't know why you said that, its irrelevant. All I know if I gave my opinion as biased as you do I would make an effort to go now again just to ensure I wasn't talking twaddle. Bloody hell mate that's just common sense. If I lived in Aussie and never went I might lurk but not lecture as you do.

A real fan, especially one who pontificates as much as you, should at least try and get to the odd game, especially as you don't live far away. Let's face it you can't be arsed and you know it.

Your summary of our current predicament is written with a rosy slant to promote your own views. That's up to you but you are one poster I only scan read because I always know what you are going to say and you don't bother going to games. One day you will say something original I hope.

Indeed he can play in the box or down the flanks, he scores goals with both his head and feet and gets stuck in. He scored Saturday's goal despite having 6 stitches in a wound above his eye. Even if the club had doubts about Premiership pedigree not to offer him a contract means we could lose a lot of money. His contract runs out in May 2018 and other players on similar length contracts have had theirs extended but to date the club aren't talking to him or his agent. I guess only Les Reed can answer why not.

I've watched a lot of Sam this season, much improved player in a struggling team and Charlie Wayman is wrong, some of his goals are individual efforts (see the one v Wolves). I have a feeling this could end up as another big mistake if a contract is not offered sooner or later.
