  1. Yes very much this but I have got to add Stephens at times today reminded me of Beckenbauer in his pomp.
  2. Just hope a few of the demented delusionals down the road read this
  3. That's actually quite good
  4. Made me laugh then wince
  5. Get rid - we don't need players like this
  6. Ryan Seagar signs a new 2 year deal and then joins MK Dons on loan for this season
  7. V popular with the players plus his knowledge of British football are two good reasons to keep him.
  8. I don't know how many STs we have sold this summer but even Rupert Lowe said if it approached 22,000 we should expand - here is his statement lifted from a programme in 2002 “One of the regular questions we get asked is whether we could expand the capacity at St Mary’s and if so how. Our stadium has been designed and built with the capability of being expanded to seat more people. Such a route would mean lifting the roof to install an additional tier of seating around the top. From an engineering point of view, we know it to be feasible, however, I should leave you with the thought that we are only in the second season in our new home and therefore have no plans at present for expansion. If season ticket numbers rise towards 22,000 and we are selling out, a review of this position will be necessary”
  9. Birmingham desperate to sign him and their local newspaper is doing some leg work. Here is their latest on Sam http://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/birmingham-city-transfers-sam-gallagher--13073814
  10. Plenty of clubs in the Championship are chasing Sam but for now it's very much a first team place in a red and wide shirt he is eyeing. He brings versatility pace and strength into a forward line that lacked that somewhat last season. I think he will surprise quite a few. Let's hope so anyway.
  11. Everything you say is true but unfortunately he is not quite Top 10 Premier League standard. He usually makes one dire mistake or pass every game. In the competitive environment we exist in, he is a weak link. That is cruel but so is Premiership football.
  12. He speaks well considering the pretty anodyne limp questions put to him. No mention of his assistants nor about his previous experience in the Premier League.
  13. I think there will also be more announcements tomorrow.
  14. I like Yoshida but he has one big flaw that lets him down and that is woeful distribution. That weakness in itself is enough for him to be regarded as not good enough in the higher echelons of the Premier League.
  15. Me too, at least he wasn't found to be lying to a court of law. Sammy Lee maybe a nice bloke but he veers to the Harry Redknapp camp when it comes to being squeaky clean over transfer fees.
  16. Incidentally over the last 30 years publishing books on Saints I have probably just about broke even. Considering the amount of time invested I would not recommend it as a primary career.
  17. Sorry still genuinely puzzled. Yes I am not the club can do nothing wrong type of fan and I criticise more than praise. But by and large I feel the club has been well run under Ms Liebherr. I shall be sorry to see her go. I do think however the club blows too much smoke up its own arse - one of the reasons expectations are perhaps too high.
  18. This has the appearance of a buy to improve the squad rather than a buy to improve the team. It would be nice to have gone for Chambers I guess but money comes into it.
  19. I am genuinely intrigued why you want to make everything so personal? We must have met?
  20. When St Mary's was built there were many who said we would struggle to get 30,000 week in week out......but we did. Indeed the planned stadium capacity at Stoneham was only 25,000 which was considered by Lowe to be ample. I am not saying we would fill a 40,000 arena, but can't see the harm in extending one side, presumably the Kingsland, to get a capacity of 36-7000. We can't just sit still. Southampton is a growing city, you only have to visit the down town area and Woolston to see all the building activity. All within walking distance of St Mary's.
  21. Ricky is off to Eastleigh I hear
  22. That is a bit of a simplistic way of looking at things even though I appreciate where you are coming from.
  23. To be fair there has already been a lot of activity and deals being brokered.
