The referee last week - complaint update

why is it a soft penalty - Euell was in an excellent position and was clearly pulled back - blatant imo! -
The referee last week - complaint update
Fitzhugh Fella replied to Fitzhugh Fella's topic in The Saints
So a poor ref gets away with gross ineptitude and is left to continue his career unblemished. And you ask who really cares now? Perhaps you had better ask Paul Wotton? -
My complaint re Mike Jones I had a letter back from the FA yesterday which was the usual brush off ie football is a game of opinions etc etc. However, they did provide a specific address and e mail which is below if anyone else wishes to complain (I don't think the club will bother as their minds are on other things). David Allison, Referee's Manager, The Football League, Edward V11 Quay, Navigation Way, Preston, PR2 2YF or e mail fl@football-league.co.uk I see Wotton's injuries are very severe - 30 stitches, missing teeth and a broken jaw. He is on liquid food for 6 weeks. Incredibly while he was prone on the pitch Mr Jones was on his way to his dressing room leaving the Burnley players to frantically signal for the physio for urgent help.

Lowe & Richards in board room on Sunday at Forest....Confirmed by Club

I see in tonight's Echo MP Alan Whitehead (who will be at the match himself) describes Lowe's intended presence as "inappropriate". Probably the best word. -

Frank - while accepting LC is far from angelic I really do struggle with the rest of your reasoning. Would you rather have Crouch bail the club out and it be made public or have no club? So what if he gets PR, so what if he gets attention, so what if he gets the freedom of the City what does that really matter to the fan in the street. The only important thing surely is that the club survives through this awkward period. And yet you continue to get your knickers in a twist about Crouch while painting Lowe as a lesser evil. Again bizarre. Frank, I like you as a bloke but your logic is really twisted here and I am starting to think there is a little more to it. Has Leon ever ran over your cat? -

2 points which I think are salient FC Number 1 - if Leon had not coughed up over the last few weeks there may not have been a match for Rupert to have gone to. Ponder that a second, please. Number 2 - sure, we would all like to move on and forget the past, but it is the past's decision to turn up to tomorrow's match while enjoying the hospitality from someone who up until a week ago was our deadly rival. I really am not surprised that LC thought it appropriate to have an outburst and yet you seem to go out of your way to make a big deal out of that??? If I didn't know you better Frank I would be tempted to see your words as deliberately provocative. -
Petition to Mr Fry. Removal of the Doncaster Train Picture

Should auction the picture - perhaps even ask Rupert amd Lawrie to sign it. Should fetch a few bob for the buckets. -

I must admit there is a certain irony that on the day that Southampton FC finally slip into the old Third Division the one man who presided the most over the club's decline from the Premiership should be watching his old club in the director's box at the invitation of the opposing Chairman. (Adding to the irony of course is the knowledge that had one of Lowe's favourite players, David McGoldrick not missed that penalty last week then the Notts Forest chairman would probably be not so full of largesse.) -
Stanley, mate - remind me to never make an enemy of you

If that is the case then I am out. If Lowe comes back Southampton FC can go figure. I will go elsewhere. Don't wont to - but I will have had enough. -

if this is true (and I have heard it is) then I think Saints fans should be very very worried. There is only one reason why Lowe will be there and that is because he will be connected to the new owners. I think Mark Fry has some questions to answer - I know he is not meant to be working for SFC or the fans but I am also hearing tales of "favouritism". -
Its all getting a tad tedious now and I don't like the fact so many property developers are sniffing around. At least you would think Souness is in it for the right reasons.
-
So according to Fry no one has made an offer yet? Hmmmm!

this is fair comment. I believe intially AS was as concerned as the rest of us that Saints might fold and quickly made moves to at least provide some sort of back up, consortium wise, if no one else came forward. I think now bigger or wealthier groups have done due diligence and AS can go back to being a fan which is all he wanted in the first place. It is nice to know however that if "push had come to shove" then a well-respected group were prepared to step in and do what they could. I have spoken to AS a few times in the last year (not in the last month I hasten to add) and he is one of the most unassuming men I have ever encountered. Hardly one to blast his name from the rooftops - he would make a perfect non exec Chairman imo.

A game flushed with riches should find way to save Southampton
Fitzhugh Fella replied to buctootim's topic in The Saints
Excellent article. Growing up in a house in Archers Road midway between the County Ground and The Dell I know where he is coming from. The Guardian is full of Saints stories today - there are some allegations that a Leon Crouch interview on R5 gave the game away re the club and the PLC being linked.
