Not a fan of Samuel Beckett but as the days pass without any smoke coming out of the Vatican chimney (or Mark Fry's office), I am increasingly reminded of his (that's Beckett's not Fry's) most famous play "Waiting for Godot" where 2 tramps (or were they peasants) are waiting by a roadside for someone called Godot who never shows. The play is totally based on their conversations while waiting for someone they both admit while waiting they don't really know, but they hope will be able to deliver them from theirselves. Does Godot ever show? Of course not!

hasn't he what?

Does Rupert do irony? Would he be using the expression tongue in cheek?

Need something to take our minds of this interminable wait - its like waiting to see if the judge is about to put his black hat on.

This morning I recieved this e mail from someone not prone to gossip and hitherto quite open minded about Lowe. I make no comment other than many of you may not believe the story - sadly I do.This is the e mail - Speaking to an old friend last night. His neighbour related an incident that happened quite recently. The neighbours son was in London when someone barged past him without apology. He turned round and realised it was Lowe and called him by name. Lowe looked round in shock and said "how do you know who I am?" the neighbours son explained he was from Southampton. After further discussion Lowe said "get back to those peasants in Southampton" Thought you might like the story. You can put it up on TSW if you like. It confirms what you have said before about Lowe.

agreed but let's not forget Fry's job is not to find us an investor it is instead to get as much as possible for the creditors.

Can it get worse - we are about to be taken over by a hick?

Pinnacle Led Bid Latest- Premiership in Five Years
Fitzhugh Fella replied to John B's topic in The Saints
All of Wacko Jacko's pronouncements have sort of become jumbled up in my head over the years - I don't think even he rembers half of what he has said or claimed. -
Pinnacle Led Bid Latest- Premiership in Five Years

That bit wasn't made clear - I assume the latter. And there was no further mention of the Canadian consortium and the council but I would assume the Canadians can't afford a total buy out which doesn't make them look particularly affluent. -
I have posted some interesting news as to why there is a delay to being bought on the the Pinnacle 5 year plan thread.

Pinnacle Led Bid Latest- Premiership in Five Years
Fitzhugh Fella replied to John B's topic in The Saints
According to today's Echo Pinnacle's clients are awaiting legal advice on whether the 10 point deduction can be overturned. That advice from an independent barrister is expected imminently. But it is understood that even if there are sufficient grounds for the decision to be overturned the deal will not be scuppered, although the amount of finance needed for the 5 year plan would change. The late Canadian interest is based on the Council buying the stadium and leasing it back. -
No problem. He took me in 2 years ago. Rang me to say the sheikhs wanted to talk to m to learn about the club's history blah blah blah His presence now is just what we (the club and the fans) need and it looks as if everything is going boots up.

You didn't he did! Lifelong Saint morphed suddenly into Lifelong Cherry or something like that. The man is a walter mitty Mike, I have spoken to him too and agree he is plausible, likeable etc but I have never heard so much crap in all my life. If he pulls something off I will apologise big time but I am virtually 100% sure it is all talk just as it was before with Dubai sheiks, David Beckham and a worldwide Saints FC franchise etc etc. In the end all we got was an ex con called Barry carrying a briefcase.

He loves Saints but then tried to buy (badly) Bournemouth??

I have just had a phone call from St David who says he is not part of this consortium although obviously he knows Marc Jackson. I asked him about Master Bates text re an announcement on Monday and he was not aware there was going to be one.
-
Got you. I am far to polite to accuse you of talking bull**** BUT I would say that text is utter tosh and very much in line with what went on 2 years ago. Remember the night he and StDavid were quaffing brandy in on line celebration?

You've lost me?

I am reliably informed that the consortium Wacko Jacko represents tabled a bid around the weekend of the Burnley match. Yesterday this hitch was them wriggling out of it "over a minor and easily resolved issue".
-
Of course Art, Begbies will be pleased Wacko Jacko is involved. They would hope his thrashing around would attract the bigger fish out of their deep hiding places. MJ is perfect groundbait. I gather Dubai Phil (someone who has some gravitas) is also involved in this consortium and it would be interesting to hear his view.

have previously had dealings, as tonight's Echo reports that Gerald Krasner, the administrator called in by Bournemouth in March 2008 was working for Begbies and of course we all know the farce that ensued there. Wacko Jacko had more splits and breakdown in relationships in a month than most business men in a lifetime and yet it seems now Begbies, under Fry are/were quite happy for him to be involved in what now seems another time wasting, potentially fatal tyre kicking exercise. I suppose Begbies have to listen to all offers or bids but you would have thought they would have treated Jackson with a bit more caution. This last minute hitch is ridiculous - either a bid was made (and we have been told by those who would know that it was) or it wasn't and someone is telling porkies. Seeing Jackson's mug on the front page of tonight's Echo scares me to hell. The future of our football club seems to be partially in the hands of a serial Walter Mitty and he appears to be getting plenty of airtime thanks to Begbies.

Actually the article was written by Ian Murray the editor who also reveals that following the Echo reporting on the "fan in the street" confrontations a few Saints players refused to talk to the Echo. Murray may not be the most popular of men but I happen to think he is telling the truth on this occasion.
