Knew how to run a coach and wear a sheepy tho'

Sorry mate - if you think today's performance was "pretty good" either your standards have slipped or you are far too easily satisfied. If we settle for this every week then we are truly in for a grim season. No offence.
-
Interesting that the 3 leading contenders for mom are all new arrivals?
-
I am of course reluctant to agree with TDD in this week of all weeks but I thought Saga injected urgency and nous - two aspects very much missing from Paterson's game. Although I can understand the antagonism towards the two Polish forwards the truth is they both offer more options than Paterson and, should they leave without adequate replacements, than poor old Lambert is going to have a cold lonely winter. Saga could still do a good job for us this year alongside Lambert.

A fair report although possibly too kind to James who crossed the ball like he had a shovel for a foot. But.............. Patience is a virtue us fans do not have. I was shocked at Huddersfield at our ineptness and although there were promising signs today we have far to many light weights (James, Thomson, Patterson, Schneiderlein, Lallana) for this Division. Pardew made some strange remarks in last night's Echo which implied us fans would be made a lot clearer as to the direction the club would be heading in 3-4 weeks. He said (from memory) that some players would go and then we would get some in and then the fans would see the club's agenda. He added that he didn't want to create a mystery about it all and it would be plain in a few weeks. Very intriguing I thought. It would be easy to come on here and let of steam tonight because it was so very frustrating at SMS today especially having to watch James and Thompson put in such a pathetic 2nd half and then see the Brentford full back complete a barnstorming run and cross but I do think we will have to give it at least 3 months before we cast judgement. Interesting how Charlton have regained their composure mind you. Shows I suppose it is possible to turn a club around in a short period of time and correct me if I am wrong they have done it on a shoestring???

Lying down in a darkened room probably!

Yes that is true - I think he expected Thomson to have picked him up. It would be good to see James make those sort of runs though - I somehow doubt he could.

Just goes to show how people see games differently. Sitting in the left Kingsland I got a close look at him and I was quite shocked how aimless he appeared. Out of his depth, sluggish, clueless, non-urgent, aimless and no composure. Maybe he does need a few games but everyone around me thought he was dire today. Sorry.

I was more concerned with Thomson today who looked shocking - terribly off the pace, no urgency and he looked totally at sea.

Have they caught the guy who obviously shot James and Thomson with a tranquiliser gun yet?

Bern old chap - admit defeat. MLT has now confirmed all the negative things that I used to be criticised for saying about Lowe. And yes we are better off now the ruddy faced one has moved to pastures new. You should have been there today to sample the atmosphere. Were you there - could you be bothered? Go on, time to take off your SCW underpants and admit it - it was as Matt said very much the wrong appointment at the time. And if you think I hate Lowe, get get off your arse, get yourself to a live game just now and again and find out what the man in the Southampton street feels about your idol now. Your statement about letting SCW "do his job" is laughable. You should read what MLT had to say about Simon Clifford!!!!! Bern, get into the real world, if you can't do that just get yourself to at least one game per season and then you might start to know what you are talking about.
-
Matt's views on Redknapp are revealing "he would have done the job if Lowe had let him get on with it" and also his views on the foolhardiness and timing of SCW's appointment should have quite a few on here eating humble pie. Haven bitten the bullet by appointing Redknapp Lowe then refused to give him free range, Redknapp lost interest and we went down. All very predicatable, forecasted by some on here and now confirmed by MLT. Shame Matt never chose to speak out at the time! The fans/shareholders and other board members would have surely listened and Lowe, just might have been removed earlier.

you are much brighter than your avatar suggests.

Thanks for the vote of confidence. Torres. Don't think there is much point of posting if that is the response. Don't insist you believe me, it's up to you but I know what I know, it came from a horse's mouth and is 100% fact. I am not going to say exactly when because someone could get into trouble.
-
EuroSaint - I have to correct you here - I simply preferred Crouch to Lowe and Wilde - there is a significant difference there. I am happy that none of them are involved any more. Out of all of them Leon did at least put his money where his mouth is.
-
I think you will find at one stage (before Lowe returned) that Pulis snr was being lined up to become our new manager and I think the Pulis jnr "deal" was agreed around that time and Lowe was duty bound to accept it. The first half of this is based on fact the second half I am surmising.

Last minute penalty! Best news I've had all week.
-
Fair point - perhaps Matt should just say this then? Mind you Pinnacle were never that clever.
-
CS - watching Matt on Sky Sports tonight gives me mixed emotions. If he just came clean and held his hands up we or sorry I could start loving him again. But I think I will let it drop - the clientele on here are not ready for this story and I guess in the greater picture it is not THAT important.

Whilst I agree with the thrust of what you say Wes, I still think it would be better if MLT actually explained a little fuller what went on. Daren says it was an error of judgement - I feel it went a little deeper. Certainly not looking to tarnish the finest player in Saints history but his involvement was not superficial and it would be good that he finally cleared the air. They still haven't actually told us why having been given exclusivity they had to rely on Crouch to pay the half million and then why they tried to hide behind the FL's ruling about the - 10 points. The whole thing stinks to high heaven and Mark Fry's role has not been properly explained. How/Why the hell did he choose Pinnacle over ML? This is not a MLT v 19C argument. I gather there are some in the higher reaches of SMS that are not overwhelmed with Pinnacle and don't forget Matt was very much part of Pinnacle - so much so he had agreed to be Chairman. I reiterate I believe Matt to have acted in the best interests of the club but he needs to tell us the truth.
-
They (Tony Lynam and MLT) accused me of stealing a private e mail, which wasn't true. Even Leon Crouch rang me to warn me I was in trouble. Tbh I wasn't that worried in fact I was quite angry that I had been threatened that way and it was more proof that they were a bunch of utter cowboys.

Message to club - Any DANGER of signing a CB or two
Fitzhugh Fella replied to Thedelldays's topic in The Saints
I agree but in this case to the best of my knowledge Huddersfield v Saints was not covered in any great depth so DD was at a disadvantage compared to those who made the longish trek up to Yorkshire. He still chose to mock those who posted negative reports of the players and the performance. That is my point.
