  1. Bit OTT I agree however yesterday was incredibly frustrating especially in the last 10 minutes when both sides were pushing hard in the swirling wind. On two occasions we broke with Waigo in good scoring positions but both times he got into offside positions and the oportunity was wasted. The first time was criminal because he was wide on the right and could see the whole field of play yet still could not stay onside. I would rather not have him on the pitch because on the 2nd occasion, if he wasn't there, Melis might well have gone on by himself and scored instead of laying it on for the blatantly offside Waigo. If you had been there too too might have been saying "moronic" things about him. You should have heard a few comments in the Northam. If he can't learn the offside rule then I will stick to my guns and say I'd rather we didn't take up his option to buy him when his loan runs out.
  2. Apologies I withdraw my insult - I see why you said who cares now. I agree too, that the Michael Winner advert is extremely annoying.
  3. If you don't care why do you bother posting - if you can't think of anything to say why don't you slink off back to under your stone and keep quiet rather than insult everyone who does care. You really are a cretin of the highest order.
  4. That reply has confirmed to me what sort of person you are. A sort of Michael Winner smug sort of arse. If you have got nothing to say why say anything? You are a total nob.
  5. KD massively overated on this forum. Good shot stopper but no command of his area, flaps at crosses and does not instil confidence. And he makes more mistakes than most. Sorry not a fan!
  6. keep going over the top mate - lets hope you don't catch a bullet.
  7. Agree entirely and Davis should shoulder blame today - he has never dominated his area and got caught out today. Norwich were far the superior side and we have a way to catch them up. Not a problem but if people like NickG hadn't raised expectations with talk of playoffs etc then many of us would not be feeling too ****ed off tonight.
  8. Armchair fans are getting worn out now! FFS Phil you should have tried going mate, the weather was crap and you got "tired out and hungry" listening to your tranny? I sometimes wonder if we should have one forum for fans who go and some who can't be bothered.
  9. I don't know if he was offside those last 2 occasions but if he was I would rather he never played for us again as his neglect would be criminal.
  10. I blame NickG
  11. rallyboy - please keep up your daily progress reports on the health of the ailing Poopey - they are becoming compulsive reading. They always start my day off so well!
  12. "we own N Ireland" - what a bizarre comment. We effin colonised it, raped and pillaged it, then starved it, and then bullied it, invaded it and then corrupted it. And you wonder why the Irish don't like us?
  13. Does anyone really expect the City Council to do anything proactive and beneficial to the City of Southampton. Christ they can't even maintain the City Quay.
  14. Say hello from me Tim. Spoke to someone in an influential position at Solent Uni last night about a doctorate for Ron. Say nothing to him but I do think it will be seriously considered. Obviously that would involve him coming over.
  15. Nah I was taken in 100%. Like to think I have got a sense of humour and all that but imo this was a pretty pathetic **** take. A lot of people got genuine pleasure outa that hread myself included. Hope you like taking people for a ride whoever you are but would like to think your time would be better spent taking the **** out of more deserved causes.
  16. 19C you really shouldn't get involved in discussions where you have little knowledge. Like GM says go look and go listen. Ron Davies was acknowledged by Sir Matt Busby as the best centre-forward in Europe in 1969. Now I accept there might have been someone in S America who could make a similar claim but Pele was not a centre-forward therefore Vectis is within his rights to make his claim. I have tried to treat your posts with respect because you do have original views but there are times I really do think it best if you keep maintain a silence. Take it from me Ron was the best. In short "Ron is King"!
  17. I think, and it is only my personal view, that this could be the carrot that gets Ron over! I was talking with my contact tonight and we agreed that Ron, Terry, Mick and Matt were the 4 outstanding local footballing heroes and Ron is now the one left. I think it will happen.
  18. Have had a chat with some one who has influence tonight and I think it will be proposed.
  19. The only cup-tie I can find around there was November 1959?
  20. I met Bert Scriven and Arthur Wilson. Bert had a farm near Marlow and Arthur lived up in Newcastle. When I went to visit him he gave me lots of photos and the like. Both sadly have now passed away but I keep in touch with relatives. Bert Shelley's son for instance lives in Liverpool and is always sending me stuff on his dad's career. Johnny Bradford's son too lives in So'ton as did Bill Lucket's wife. Talking of Charlie Sillett who was indeed the father of John - but he was also the father of Peter who played for Saints before being signed by Ted Drake (who was a friend of Charlie) for Chelsea.
  21. Don't know if the OC has logged on over the last 48 hours but if he hasn't hope he does not miss this thread.
  22. We are working on it but TT will know more when he returns from visiting Ron, I hazard a guess.
  23. I know a couple of the guys responsible at Solent Uni so will have a word.
  24. Sorry I gotta bump this thread just once, to pay my respects to the "Old Codger".
  25. John, funnily enough I don't think Ron gives a monkeys. He is the sort of bloke who is quite capable of living in the bed he has made!
