  1. Sums it up - I think he needs to get out more - perhaps the odd away game?
  2. Then why did you start yet another tedious thread containing only the list of the teams recent results? Do you think we are idiots or something? We are all aware of recent results, thanks. It's in the Pink, the programme, websites etc etc but you still think it so important we all need reminding; so you start two threads on the subject in as many days. No doubt if we win tomorrow you will start another 13 games blah blah blah. Give it a rest man - are you on commission or something? I really am quite amused/bemused by your apparent obsession to turn this whole forum into a bunch of happy clappies. Sorry mate, but like Chapel End Charlie I will make my own my mind up on the Saints by what I see on the pitch and post accordingly.
  3. R3 Chelmsford City (a) 1938-39. Lost 4-1 Old Codger was there amid the 10,741 crowd, ask him about it - our only loss thus far to a non League side in the Cup.
  4. I wonder who it was who turned that song from Andover's finest into "Give it to Ron, give to Ron On his head, on his head" Sheer poetry.
  5. Accept your reasoning but a day out would have been nice.
  6. Don't think he would allow Wycombe prior warning of him deffo not playing. I am concerned this is the same injury that ravaged his Sunderland career - he has quickly become indispensable.
  7. Point me in the direction I said you musn't enjoy winning Nick? I am sincerely glad you enjoy it, I do myself but I temper my joy with caution, especially when the performance has not been that great. Neither of our "approaches" are right or wrong but we must both be allowed to counter each other's opinions without insult or wind ups or it is bound to get personal.
  8. Right Hypo after this reply I am going to ignore you because you are acting like a petty little twerp. If you post solely to wind me up that is up to you but it obviously is not worth legitimising your views with a logical reply. I have never said you shouldn't be happy after a win. I was happy but I would have been happier had the win been cleaner and I was mererly pointing out that in my opinion (I assume you are allowing me to have an opinion) although 3-2 looks a good result on paper to those who weren't there, the truth was we did not play very well, especially in the 2nd half. I was not moaning merely pointing that out. The trouble with all your happy clappies with you head in the sand is that you perceive criticism constructive or otherwise as an attack on your team and it should not be allowed. Plenty of managers are very critical of their team in victory because they are all striving for improvement and I expect AP is no different. Please do not feel sorry for me I have no sand clogging up my eyes or ears and when things go wrong at least I will be able to understand why. This forum is for all views and just because I don't get the bunting out after every win it doesn't mean I should be the subject of your rather tiresome winding up and insults. Now run along and play.
  9. What an intelligent response. If you are not really bothered why post to tell us?
  10. I don't think Grant had much of a choice - if he had refused he would have quickly been relieved of his cushy DoF role.
  11. He is a nice guy but usually ****ed. A great Saints fan mind. Hope he is allright.
  12. And yet our midfield were woeful? Scheiderlin is an enigma. I can see class and style but I can't see substance. Next game I am going to concentrate 100% on him.
  13. Accept your point about the stripes but we are talking about a one-off event here, celebrating our 125th. No one is asking anyone to do away with the stripes. Just for one year a slightly different shirt that recognises what we first wore 125 years ago Think you are overeacting a tad here Docker. No offence and all that polite stuff
  14. Fair post this. I don't think I have enjoyed an away games less. Souless. Looking down the pitch it puts you off when you can see cars driving along a road about 10 metres above the eyeline of their stand. I have respect for fans of clubs like Orient and Northampton too and I hate those arrogant chants of "we've got more fans than you" etc etc. We should be applauding these sort of fans and taking the **** out of plastic mancs etc - they are the real frauds. Job done today - but we have a long way to go.
  15. Love to chat to you on this. I really dont rate Morgan and thought he was anonymous today. I keep thinking I must be missing something but I am damned if I can see it.
  16. I think that is Gunner from Fair Oak
  17. I don't think he reads any other posts other than his own. Probably too many cans of Red Stripe Just joking Docker.
  18. Absolutely spot on.
  19. Yea but my great Grandad watched them in sashes, then cherry halves, then cherry quarters before stripes so shove that in your pipe Also in the twenties and thirties we had navy blue shorts so should we go back to them as well? The sash would look good for just one season and then we could go back to stripes.
  20. Just back, Andy - The scoreline did not flatter Northampton - they outplayed us completely in the 2nd H. Another 5 minutes and it would have been Tranmere all over again.
  21. I have to say, as the club historian I think this is quite brilliant and stylish. Personally I would lose the scarf on the badge. I have one of the original sashes actually worn in our original kit and this kit does it justice. Nice one MLG
  22. Yea away wins are usually very enjoyable but today wasn't. Very frustrating.
  23. Thought we were very poor 2nd half, no midfield, giving he ball away constantly and we let Northampton boss us and get back into game we should have closed down. Midfield is Problem.
  24. On my way back Nickg - just having a pint in W Ilsley. Glad we won but the 2nd half was the worst I have seen this season. 3 nil up w should have cruised it but we could not keep possesion and our midfield were out fought. Another 5 mins and we would have been looking at a Tranmere situation. The cup is all about winning and we did but don't get carried away as if you would!
  25. I have already had a word with relevant parties at Solent Uni, Eelpie. Hopefully we will get a yes.
