going to take "an ambassadorial role at Fratton Park", I see. The mind boggles.
-
You are not related to the Attenboroughs are you?
-
Who is your player of the season so far?
Fitzhugh Fella replied to The Fat Controller's topic in The Saints
Connolly for me because he looks sheer class in this Division. Having said that, Lambert would be second because he does score goals. And he has more to his game than I first realised. Jaidi third. I know he has his mobility limitations but he can be massive. Fourth Lallana - When he get's a bit less frustrating and slightly more consistent then no reason why he can't take over from Connolly. -
Cortese offers you £5m on Jan 1st...what would you do?
Fitzhugh Fella replied to SaintBobby's topic in The Saints
Cork didn't look much like a £2m player on the televised game this afternoon v S****horpe - more impressed with Cranie. -
If Joensuu is correct in his analysis (and he appears to have done some homework) then if I was Storrie I wouldn't bother coming back. I don't think Storrie will be in the director's box again.
-
Just when things look really dodgy Storrie is off on his hols. He looked distinctly uncomfortable yesterday when those two clowns next him tried to join in with the chanting and clapping.
-
Sometimes they were amusing but more often than not he was trying to be too clever. Pardew actually appears to enjoy talking and explaining.
-
I've said before but what I like most is the way he talks. I can't remember when we last had a manager who makes so much sense when he opens his mouth. After Strachan's smart arse one liners and Burley's mumblings hearing AP's verdicts on things is very refreshing. The guy can communicate and that's part of the battle.
-
Is he injured, not even on the bench today?

Peter Storrie quoted yesterday talking about the new owner(s). "It is a difficult market in the financial world at the moment. They took the club over with little or no due diligence because of the situation with Sulaiman". So the new owner is a "they" which is news to me and "they" bought the club with "little or no due diligence". Christ they must still be in shock!
-
Does anyone know if the the new owner passed the fit and proper owner tests laid down by the Prem?
-
Non sensible answer - presides?
-
Good shout. One thing is for certain you cannot believe a word that emerges from Farton these days.
-
They are becoming an embarrassment to the Premiership with this monthly wages farce going on. I reckon the new owners are willing administration. It can old be days away, surely.
-
Sounds good. He means Markus presumably. No point having money in the bank while watching 3rd Div football.

Yes it is. My wife said to me on Saturday "WHERE are you going"? Last night she said "WHO are you playing?" Last week it was " HARTLEPOOL, you're joking"? I daren't tell her we've got Walsall on Saturday! When I first met her I took her to Saints v Liverpool FA Cup semi-final at White Hart Lane, so she thinks Saints are a BIG club. Mind you, growing up in Sunderland she used to serve Bovril at Roker Park so she knows the gritty side of football. The sooner we get back to at least the CCC the better although I feel there is work to be done on that squad yet before we can regard ourselves as 2nd tier material. (There's the negative in me - I can't help it)

You put this more eloquently than I could. We all support the Saints. We are all happy when we win. It's just all of us have different ways of expressing that support and happiness. One thing I am learning on this forum is there is no right or wrong and there has to be room for both the "happy clappies" and the "moaning minnies" to co-exist even though we both seem to get irked by each other's posts. I have had a good look at myself, Saints and things I say on here. I think I am too negative and from now on I shall try to stop over negative posts. That's my contribution. I accept the stats give pleasure to lots on here and they should be allowed to enjoy those stats. It would be great too if those people also appreciate there are quite a few who have the views of Chapel Charlie and who prefer to post notes of caution in order we don't get too carried away with ourselves. As for the Torquay game - would it have changed any views if the result had been decided on the flick of a coin?

Very fair report back. Antonio's mazy run towards their goal had us all clutching our sides at the end.
-
Fair assessment - I am not a huge admirer of Papa Waigo and last night was very frustrating but prefer him over BWP any day.
-
Like I said recently linesmen simply cannot keep up and a lot of their decisions are based on hunches these days. Most of the time they are never level with play which is the only place to be to make a fair judgement.
-
Agree 100% - that was painful!
-
still surprised they found 8 tbh. Like someone said - they must all be outsiders or Maccaibi fans.
-
Picture is from the TopicalTimes football yearbook - I remember it well.

The Guardian ran a poll asking will Grant keep Pompey up? The result declared today was 53% said Yes and 47% said No. I didn't realise there were that many Guardian readers down in Skatesville.
