Very astute Steve and I concur with 100% of what you say. I was delighted to get Ramirez but can't help think the lack of players with premiership experience in our signings will come back to haunt us - esp in the gk dept. Good post.

Those who sat amid home fans yesterday

Ah thanks it does - did not know that - I wonder then are their home attendances artificially high? -
Can't believe how many Saints fans who went to the Emirates yesterday sat among home fans - just wondering how they managed to get tickets and how much they paid. I got 5 tickets from an Arsenal supporting mate who's friends live abroad and can't always make it. I paid him £200 in total but they were good seats about 8 rows behind the dugouts. I must admit It was tough with the gooners jumping up all around six times but it was also interesting to hear their views on us. The guy to my right who obviously knew his football was really impressed with Ramirez.

I reckon he got a whiff that M U were interested and after that we had not a chance

Million dollar question this and also minefield territory - I say this without reading ANY replies

they are useful don't forget Wade I have always defended Alpine's right to have a view to go against the majority but his posts on this subject are offensive. I shall regard him in a different light from now on.

So its OK for the Sun to print what the police tell them? Er hello - just look at the Leveson inquiry to see where and how dangerous that policy became.

Of course Thatcher knew - Bernard Ingram was briefing journalists within hours that the Liverpool fans were to blame. Thatcher turned a blind eye to the S Yorkshire cover up as pay back for the support they gave her during the miners' strike.

Don't think you need the Devil's Advocate disclaimer, Trousers, I think that is exactly what he is doing and to a point he can justify it. If you were trying to sell a dodgy motor the least you could do is give it a polish. Thing is most people who have any sense will look further than the polish. Check under the bonnet of PFC and you have a clapped out engine on the point of self combustion secured to the chassis with a severly frayed shoe lace.

Not so sure comparing Mayuka to Drogba or even mentioning them in the same breath is a wise move but other than that I enjoyed the read.

What's the wierdest thing you've ever seen someone do at football?

The "miracle at Lewisham", away to Millwall last season when two Saints fans in the disabled section, suddenly found they had regained the use of their legs when Rickie scored the winner? -
He is on a part-time basis, working in tandem with one-time Echo colleague John May - who is a member of this forum.

Indeed - it was ours of course in the days we all had shares but, those days don't exist any more and I for one am not gonna give a view whether that is a good or bad thing.

You say Wes the land belongs to us but surely you mean ML's estate?

Manji would you like to buy my latest book?

Surman to score first and Saints to win 2-0 away to Doncaster 125/1

Thanks to Leon I once came back from an away game £1250 richer
-
Prefer him where he was - I prefer Fox to Richardson
-
looks like a groin strain could cause him to miss the Scotland games. Maybe Shaw is going to get his Saints chance quicker than envisaged. I saw him at Stevenage and he did ok but not yet ready for the Premiership.
-
I have no idea what caused this spat (unless it was Matt's support for Pinnacle over which he and I had a blazing row) or who is right, but I know one thing MLT is one of the most decent, honest, genuine guys around who loves Saints with a passion. I think it a great shame the two can't make up - after all both presumably want what is best for the club.

Well it seems Adkins already has? Sorry St Chalet that this is on the Ramirez thread but Alpine made the link by saying it might have been better to not to have signed him and perservered with Sharp instead. Although I have not seen Ramirez play I am truly excited at his arrival (bit worried about the lack of defenders but that is another thread) and fully expect him to be a far better player than our Billy.

Yes some wise words there
-
Alpine, you go on about Sharp's talents but if you actually were at a game live and watched him it would soon be obvious that he is not Premiership material. Sometimes you do actually have to be in the stadium watching to get the whole picture. Not a criticism because i know you live a long way away which makes it hard to get to games, but you must respect the views of those that go who are lucky to get the broader picture. Trust me Sharp, great bloke and all that notwithstanding is NOT a Prem player. He knows it as well - that is why he went back to his comfort zone, where he will do an excellent job. And if we go down I sincerely hope we recall him, because he will get us back up.
