Saints 1-2 Spurs // Post-Match Views
Fitzhugh Fella replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Dare I mention Ryan Dickson? -
I totally agree - so why do you and I fight?

Perhaps NC is not allowing certain people to buy corporate "positions".

Great to see Matt sitting among us "plebs" today, just one of the fans. Felt a bit sorry for him that he got constantly mobbed by people asking for photos etc, would have been nice if they treated him normally for at least the duration of the game but I guess it is not every day a legend becomes mortal. Maybe NC will join us next week?

No one Beats brian O'Neil. I was hearing this week how Francis Burns used to drive them both home from the railway station after away trips. FB was teetotal but Brian had a skinful and was sitting in the back. Suddenly while Francis was doing 60mph overr the Redbridge flyover Brian suddenly put both hands over Francis's eyes and kept them there.

Team for Tottenham, your thoughts?
Fitzhugh Fella replied to Horton Heath Saint's topic in The Saints
I note how Sharp is doing his reputation on here no harm by being at Forest but trust me he is not a Premiership player -
I am getting worried, the Jimmy Savile thread is catching this one up

Someone with pre NC connections to St Marys has mentioned it. Personally I thought Strachan was over rated. I would reather keep NA -
He rarely has an end product (Stevenage beside)

Harry Redknapp to be named manager within 3 weeks
Fitzhugh Fella replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
I think we and the rest of football "sold our soul" a while ago. Personally I will always support the team no matter who is in charge but I really can't see Nicola Cortese and Harry Redknapp getting along. -
That is a very revealing and interesting stat and tells its own tale

This, and eloquently put if I may say

Not my battle, down to David Bull and Tim Manns

Once Bitterne, have you ever heard of authoritarinism personality? I think you should check it out and while doing so try and dislodge that big chip on your shoulder and then try and develop your own rather pathetic personality and not leech of others. Take care.

Who would make more of a difference. Right now j rod or billy sharp?
Fitzhugh Fella replied to Mr X's topic in The Saints
Jay rod is a far superior all round player to Sharp -
Why I typed death I don't know - apologies it should be Regrets. I can't edit it, hopefully a mod will

Just been sent a copy of Terry Curran's new autobiography (called Regrets of a Maverick) and as he was with us for a season (78-79) and scored the goal (his only one for Saints) that took us to Wembley, there is a couple of chapters on his life at The Dell. However I am not particularly keen on these books because they tend to make it up as they go along and at least the half this book is about his female conquests (yawn). He is very very damning on L Mac however - in fact I would go as far to say he is being very vindictive and there are even one part I can't mention for fear I would get this forum into trouble. Perhaps our ex manager should be shown a copy because he might have a view on one allegation. Personally I wouldn't waste my money on this hatchet job, but if you are looking for a no holds barred account of what life was like at Southampton FC circa 1978 then flick through it in a book shop. These sort of books are two a penny though.

I agree about people making up rumours to justify their point of view is tiresome but, in the absence of much info officially emanating out of the club, this forum as such, has to rely on a lot of heresay. Personally unless I know where the story has come from I tend to ignore it but just sometimes you hear the same story from several trustworthy people and I tend to pay them more mind. I heard about Lambert's bust up with NA via a PM on here shortly after the Fulham game. At first I was sceptical but then a mate who knows RL's dad came up with the same story and then someone else with connections mentioned it so in the end going by the balance of probablilities I will regard it as true and use it when debating the pros and cons. By and large on here you get to know who to believe and who not to. Thanks for the edit btw.

Stop spoon feeding the trolls

Your post would have been a lot more intelligently received if you hadn't resorted to calling group of people who hold a different view to you "mongs". Straight away a tedious row starts so why do it if you want to make a serious point which evidently you do.

Absolutely Steve, it is a sad day when the local press are too frightened to take on injustice/corruption. This Hall fella has more guts than all of them put together and how that guy Neil Allen is trying to jump on his bandwagon at this late stage is toe curling.
