  1. He needs games but I hope we have a recall option
  2. I think Matt pulls no punches, don't think he is bothered what people think. He does not like NC and will continue to say it as he sees it. He has no obligation to be "diplomatic". I have no problem with that either. Sorry Ron, not looking to be confrontational but I fail to see why fans don't like Matt being honest in his opinions. Should there be some rule that no one should be allowed to criticise SFC, should they have good reason?
  3. So it seems but I guess he is fully entitled to do that as it is from his pocket (or the Liebherr family's) the revenue is being denied. If Lowe did this then we would all rightfully be up in arms but don't forget the club's finances are not, strictly speaking, our business any more. We forfeited that right when we passed into private ownership. I did point this out at the time but was accused of having an agenda.
  4. Bit strange when we have a dearth of full-backs that one is denied a chance because one of his team mates "doesn't like playing with him". No wonder the club is in a little bit of defensive disarray. But the fact remain he is still on the books and available.
  5. Dare I mention Ryan Dickson?
  6. I totally agree - so why do you and I fight?
  7. Perhaps NC is not allowing certain people to buy corporate "positions".
  8. Great to see Matt sitting among us "plebs" today, just one of the fans. Felt a bit sorry for him that he got constantly mobbed by people asking for photos etc, would have been nice if they treated him normally for at least the duration of the game but I guess it is not every day a legend becomes mortal. Maybe NC will join us next week?
  9. No one Beats brian O'Neil. I was hearing this week how Francis Burns used to drive them both home from the railway station after away trips. FB was teetotal but Brian had a skinful and was sitting in the back. Suddenly while Francis was doing 60mph overr the Redbridge flyover Brian suddenly put both hands over Francis's eyes and kept them there.
  10. I note how Sharp is doing his reputation on here no harm by being at Forest but trust me he is not a Premiership player
  11. I am getting worried, the Jimmy Savile thread is catching this one up
  12. I agree 100%
  13. Someone with pre NC connections to St Marys has mentioned it. Personally I thought Strachan was over rated. I would reather keep NA
  14. He rarely has an end product (Stevenage beside)
  15. The latest name on the wind that blows down my road is.....Strachan
  16. some bizarre story in the Echo tonight about a royal toilet being installed in SMS???????
  17. I think we and the rest of football "sold our soul" a while ago. Personally I will always support the team no matter who is in charge but I really can't see Nicola Cortese and Harry Redknapp getting along.
  18. That is a very revealing and interesting stat and tells its own tale
  19. This, and eloquently put if I may say
  20. Not my battle, down to David Bull and Tim Manns
  21. Once Bitterne, have you ever heard of authoritarinism personality? I think you should check it out and while doing so try and dislodge that big chip on your shoulder and then try and develop your own rather pathetic personality and not leech of others. Take care.
  22. Jay rod is a far superior all round player to Sharp
  23. Why I typed death I don't know - apologies it should be Regrets. I can't edit it, hopefully a mod will
  24. Just been sent a copy of Terry Curran's new autobiography (called Regrets of a Maverick) and as he was with us for a season (78-79) and scored the goal (his only one for Saints) that took us to Wembley, there is a couple of chapters on his life at The Dell. However I am not particularly keen on these books because they tend to make it up as they go along and at least the half this book is about his female conquests (yawn). He is very very damning on L Mac however - in fact I would go as far to say he is being very vindictive and there are even one part I can't mention for fear I would get this forum into trouble. Perhaps our ex manager should be shown a copy because he might have a view on one allegation. Personally I wouldn't waste my money on this hatchet job, but if you are looking for a no holds barred account of what life was like at Southampton FC circa 1978 then flick through it in a book shop. These sort of books are two a penny though.
