  1. I think you are there or thereabouts - like you say there will be no transfer deals while all this is up in the air.
  2. He out performed Lambert, Lallana and Rodrigues
  3. I am Lambert's biggest fan but at WHL yesterday I thouyght we had Mork and Mindy up front playing for us so ineffectual were he and Jay Rod. And lallana was worse. Very worrying.
  4. And Lambert and Rodriguez were like Mork and Mindy today - so lightweight and ineffectual
  5. I think Adkins went a bit over the top on this tbh.
  6. Nice nice man, very sad news but i guess a bit of a relief that he is now at peace after an illness that was so hard to cope with. A good solid pro who was the salt of the earth.
  7. I usually agree with your posts and think you talk sense but your last sentence is full of arrogance that is just crying out to come back to haunt us. Why do people like you tempt fate
  8. So did Factless ever wonder why all these clueless chairman/ fly by night figureheads/knights of Arabia/Russian gangsters were trying to avoid him. Did he write a big long expose of all their corruption and falsehoods? No he sat back and whinged and wailed. Has he ever heard of investigative journalism where writers will balls and curiousity get out of their comfort zone and rattle a few cages? He is basically an overgrown schoolboy whom The News have given a lap top to - a true pygmy in the intrepid world of serious journalists no less. He'll be fine now - McInnes resident pet journo. God it is vomit inducing and if I see them refer to themselves as a massive club again then I will know their size complex is seriously incurable. Why do they have to keep on insisting to the weary world they are so big?
  9. The only way this thread will die is of natural causes ie when there is no oxygen left in the debate - you wait when next season starts and the bestest blue phew suddenly realise that just because the fans think they own the club everything in the garden is not automatically rosy. It was only 3 months after Wilde took over that I started hearing horror stories about the new regime falling out. I predict the fallout down the scag end of the M27 will start around September if not before.
  10. You have a good memory - I bet against Saints to prove to the Gods that I don't believe in tempting fate - or at least I think that is my rationale. Although I once won a 125/1 bet on Saints that won me £1250. I think we will stay up but there are always unexpected twists and turns in football and I won't sleep easy until maths tell me to.
  11. I have a tenner on 100/1 but I really hope I don't collect
  12. Posters are asking how to define big - twenty years ago I would have said it depended on the size of your fanbase, your ground and your attendances but you only have to look at Wigan/Blackburn Rovers to realise size of a club is now judged on the wealth (and common sense) of the owners.
  13. We are pretty quick on this forum to criticise the arrogance of the fans down the M27 who claim they are the bestest in the world but, over the last few weeks, dare I suggest, we too, have been a little above ourselves with talk of Champions League football and top 8 finishes. In the pub today, before the game, the arrogance of Saints fans predicting an easy win was a bit of a worry and sure enough, right on cue a few hours later we were truly found out by a team most on here predicted to be "on the beach". We have done well to avoid relegation, assuming we have (the odds have shortened from 100/1 to 80/1 tonight) but we are, at present no more than a team good enough just to survive. That to me is acceptable and I just think all talk about us being a team destined for greater things best be avoided until we achieve a bit of consistency with our current batch of players or we invest in players good enough to move us up to the next level. That is easier said than done as can be witnessed by both Mayuka and Ramirez - big money signings - have not delivered accordingly to the money spent on them. Let's not get too ahead of ourselves, stop the chest thumping and accept for now staying up will be a good achievement.
  14. Threads like this are just an utter waste of time
  15. To be honest he is just waffling - we were poor and he has to take some of the blame for sending out a team who were utterly clueless.
  16. So does this mean we are staying up?
  17. That's a heavy question, I might come back to it in the morning. As for the moment I am finally - after Villa's loss - accepting we are safe. But..................... As this is your second thread on ownership in the last 24 hours and I know who you are I am sensing you have some info we could all be interested in?
  18. With reagard to Q5 I would say Redknapp was pulling his strings big time! As for WBA my opinion is it is now very well run and apart from the Odemwingie shambles you keep a nice low profile preferring to under promise and over achieve. Feel your season ran out of steam though once you had enough points - can't say I can blame you for that although next season expectations will raise.
  19. Certainly is a good time to sell but who would buy......?
  20. Who was that? Ray Hiron, George Ley, Albert McCann, Ray Pointer - yes I used to go to Farton park occasionally those days
  21. There is an uncomfortable nos of posters on this thread who have "skate mates". Just sayin'
  22. We have finally completed the circle - unlike the PST!
  23. Indeed, and a lot of the parties involved have gone very quiet - I am thinking something doesn't add up and there is a growing sound of dropping pennies on Portsea Island.
