  1. Wilf I just tried it, it worked for me, you have to scroll down to find All the Saints but it did work
  2. For me our performance of the season. Very proud to be a saints fan yesterday we showed grit and flair in equal measures. Cork could not have worked harder, he was superb. And we started and finished with three English teenagers on the pitch.
  3. No one has mentioned how he ended up playing wide right midfield with Ward-Prowse playing full-back
  4. From me collecting £30, posted £37
  5. Wilf from now hopefully give it a try any problems e mail me 07818403122
  6. Classic manji absolutely classic
  7. Yes Gary dropped some off last week to a manager who wasn't happy about having Saints books in her shop!!!
  8. I had to post yours separately as the courier would not take non mainland mail , but it should be there any day now
  9. Vince I will look into it
  10. I am glad but a tad surprised Morph is so grateful. The Liebherr group got a bargain at 14m and now own something worth 300m. Fair play to them Cortese spotted a bargain.... or was it Andrew Oldknow. Meanwhile the fans own nothing but their heritage and the city owns nothing but the hoped for inheritance. Interesting night tonight at Waterstones with Mick Channon and Terry Paine (not to forget Brian O'Neil) - the city and the community ultimately own the soul of SFC and while the bricks and mortar might be under the control of someone who cares not about tradition, in the end it will be our children and our children's children who will reclaim our club for our city. Heavy stuff I know but after listening to two legends tonight explain what SFC means to them, then I can't help the philosophy.
  11. Yea basically Amazon have not approached us to ask us for the book and suggest a going rate. Their monopoly on book sales and global domination is meeting a small pocket of resistance.
  12. and Wycombe scored in the 96th minute - only thing that brought a smile to my face last night
  13. Feedback such as this is most welcome, especially after the disappointment at the club changing its mind about selling it from their outlets. I feel it is the best we have done but it won't reach all fans due to it not being available at the stadium. A real shame
  14. If we had someone who could finish like the bloke who hit their third we would have won by a hatful tonight. Too much trying to walk the ball into the net and also at the other end too much fiddle faddle. Sometimes we give almost suicidal passes to players facing the wrong way with an attacker breathing down their necks and either concede possession (that's how they got their 2nd) or hoof it into touch.
  15. Agree 100% now if we had someone who could finish like the bloke who hit their third we would have won by a hatful tonight. Too much trying to walk the ball into the net and too much fiddle faddle in our third too.
  16. Just to clarify a few things for the benefit of my stalker Once Bitterne The idea to arrange a launch with the ex-Saints was conceived about three years ago between its then secretary Tim Manns and David Bull. It seemed fairly logical as we were both helping each other track down players. It was nothing to do with me. About 3 months ago as David was up to his eyes in editing he asked me to continue with the organisation of the launch. Initially we wanted to have it at Paul Bennett's in Thornhill (East Point) but Mike Thew of the ex Saints, then suggested asking the club as he thought it might be the ideal chance to all unite under one roof. I was aware there could be a conflict with certain individuals but assumed as the launch was not being hosted by the club there wouldn't be a problem. Obviously I was wrong. Prior to Friday night I had never met or spoken to Francis Benali. If anyone thinks I engineered this row on purpose perhaps they should sneak a look at my bank balance - it is the last thing I want. Up to now I have enjoyed the best relationship with the club then ever before but obviously the club now seemingly holds Hagiology to blame for the way things have turned out. Probably in hindsight the only way out of this dilemma would have been to have not had a launch at all but then when we had the book signings that too could have caused a problem. perhaps it would have been better not to have written the book at all. I am very proud of it and it is better by a long chalk than anything previously published. It's a labour of love which sadly has become tarnished.
  17. Um you are very near - it will be the end of hagiology. Recouping the 55,000 pounds is going to be hard work without the help of the club.
  18. I have loads - suffice to say a nicer more approachable man was impossible to meet. I remember dancing with his grand mother in the saloon bar of the Fitzhugh pub around 1975. It is a long story. Probably out of all the Saints players I have known for someone so famous he was the most down to earth and friendly. You should have heard Jim Steele talk about him on Friday last.
  19. I am incredulous that some on here are having a go at Gazzaniga. He had no chance with either goal. I actually thought his distribution was better than Boruc's. Plenty of pretty passing football but we never posed a serious threat to their goal. It was the same last week at the Emirates. We are in danger of admiring ourselves too much in the mirror. Gary Neville said it all during the commentary “no power”. We are good enough to give Arsenal and Chelsea a good contest but in reality, a lot of our football does not actually achieve anything in terms of making opposition goalkeepers work. Rodriguez sums it up for me plenty of promising running but no conviction or purpose. Osvaldo has been a big disappointment for me this season. I know he needs a run but he has shown nothing more than Billy Sharp to be honest.
  20. Old Nick - the book was produced in conjunction with the club (as all our book have been since 1998), it has their logo in it, they supported it throughout and were extremely helpful in terms of publicity and access to present day players and photographs. In the years 2003-2009 the club made over £60,000 from selling our books through their outlets. Something happened a few weeks ago which I won't go into now which caused them to tell us they would not be stocking this book. Waterstones have taken a delivery of 1000, so it should be easy to find if you live locally and of course it can be picked up from any of our houses, Eastleigh, Otterbourne or Bristol at a fiver off. Also we hope to be selling it via Andrew Murray's programme shop in Northam Rd on match days.
  21. I am surprised there has - after their first point in over a month - been no mention of the double decker bus doing a quick lap of Southsea Common.
  22. Here is a link to Dave Juson's view of the evening http://www.deftlyhallowed.co.uk/
  23. Not right now no.... although it is a more than fair question and perhaps one that the club should shoulder some responsibility to answer before I share anything.
  24. And Bryn is so sprightly and with it. He reminds me of Norman Wisdom
  25. Thanks 9-3, sorry didn't get to chat longer , it was very busy. When I left at midnight, MLT, Franny, Jim Steele, Hughie Fisher, Glenn Cockerill etc were still in the bar, so I think they enjoyed it as well. Jim Steele was the star although I thought David Hughes hit the nail on the head during his interview talking about in reality it is the fans who actually spiritually own the club. I also thought Gordon Watson also came across really well, he has really taken Southampton to his heart. A good night. Duncan
