  1. Clattenburg's job is to referee to the best of his ability not make smart alec remarks to the players. Perhaps if he concentrated on applying the rules fairly and less on being a jack the lad he would be a better ref. I am with the club on this.
  2. The club are tweeting there's no problem
  3. I have been club historian since 1998, inc the time when Wilde was in charge - get your facts right you anonymous little twerp
  4. sotonjoe are you there or have you retired to the jungle?
  5. If you were a Japanese soldier during WW2 you would be one of those found hidden in the jungle some 30 years later still not accepting the war was over while wearing a Rupert Lowe deerstalker hat and a pair of Andrew Cowan underpants. I stand by my earlier remark - you are a sad person, someone who attacks under the cover of anonymity. I would respect your views if you tell me who you are - Duncan@duncanholley.co.uk
  6. How can the Mail still describe their Cup win as stunning I really don't know.
  7. Saints have been very quiet with their stance on this issue
  8. sotonjoe is a very sad person.
  9. Thanks for this - I am aware that Waterstones are saying this and they have apologised. Books can be ordered from http://www.hagiologists.com Cheers
  10. Nick check out page 224 - you will find Harry Lanham there. Interestingly I had a phone call yesterday from a great nephew of an ex-Saints player from 1896 whose fate after leaving Southampton we were unsure of. It appears he murdered his wife in 1906.
  11. Talk of posters having agendas always makes me laugh. If anyone ever dares post an opinion that goes against the mainstream that person is always accused of having an agenda. Ever since I dared to question Lowe, Manji for one, has accused me of having an agenda (he thinks I want to take over the club). There are people in life who are only truly happy when they feel the people that rule over them are in complete control. When someone comes along and rocks the boat then panic sets in and accusations fly. I only want what's best for my football team and if I think the people running my club are making mistakes then I will holler. I am very uncomfortable with the way football clubs are increasingly being owned by despots, lunatics, charlatans, egotists etc etc and while I don't think the fans owning their clubs is a sure fire way to success (look at the basket case just down the road), I do wish football club owners took into consideration the views of the supporters - be it over kit, safe standing, pies in the concourse whatever. Just look at the situation at Cardiff and Hull. As for Saints it has been a great ride and I am very proud we are playing good football with young kids and more coming through and are being recognised nationally for doing it, but I still can't help feeling it will one day end in tears unless a certain person develops a tad more humility and more respect for what preceded him. Happy Xmas - the sermon has endeth. And a special Happy Xmas to Manji who will choke on his cornflakes when he reads this.
  12. And NC doesn't?
  13. Sanctimonious or what
  14. Spot on. He is out of his depth but the fans giving him a hard time is going to help no one.
  15. Hi Saint John - just had this reply in response to your post Hi Duncan, Our central team have had some problems configuring the website with regards to the book (its usually pretty automated from Neilson - hence the problems). First it was listed at intenet discount price, now back to full price. The biggest problem has been setting it up so that when you go to order, it should only route through to 'reserve and collect' - and explain you can reserve it in a store and collect it at your leisure - however this hasn't been happening and caused us numerous problems. Please do respond to the unhappy customers and apologise on our behalf. Thanks, Ross Medley Bookshop Manager & Cluster Leader Cluster 27 Waterstones, West Quay Southampton 023 8023 2118 CL27@waterstones.com http://www.waterstones.com ________________________________________
  16. The Alphabet was good for its time but All the Saints is way deeper and of course in full colour all 520 pages. Thanks for the plug SNSUN
  17. Saint John - yes we have kept Waterstones fully supplied, but the cluster that involves Southampton, Lymington, Fareham, Salisbury, Eastleigh, Andover and Winchester does not stretch to the Bournemouth branches. I have tonight e mailed your comments to the manager of the region who is called Ross (CL27@Waterstones.com). Waterstones have been excellent for us but it seems their communication system has let you and us down. The programme shop will be selling copies prior to tomorrow's game and the Guide Dog in Bevois Valley has got copies too (ask Margaret the land lady). Plus Kenny G has some around his flat near the Ave - all venues will charge £30. HTH. Simples - the book has only been out three weeks, if you have paid for it and provided postage you should have it by now, if you did not include postage it has been available to be collected from either Eastleigh, Otterbourne, Salisbury, Bristol or Rownhams. E mail on Duncan@duncanholley.co.uk if you are having problems.
  18. This is not going to be a popular view but I am coming to the conclusion he is a bit of a liability and I am surprised NC/MP went for him knowing he has this weakness in his game. He has skill for sure but so far his bad points outweigh his good and if he did spit in the guy's face not sure I want him at Southampton.
  19. Nick you would be better browsing your local Waterstones. It is expensive but it is lavishly put together at a cost of £55000 and weights 2.3kgs. I am convinced it is good value. Cheers
  20. http://www.hagiologists.com or drop me an e mail Duncan@duncanholley.co.uk
  21. I never have moments of weakness, my lips are sealed but both Rally Boy and I agreed this saga has way to go and my prediction was that McInnes would resign within three months was considered a good shout - even by Matt. That press conference earlier to unveil the new messiah made Gavin and Stacey look second rate comedy.
  22. Just back from the Le Tissier signing at West Quay. Who should be there but this thread's one and only "Rally Boy". Pleasure to meet you!!!
  23. I know who I would rather have a cup of tea with right now
  24. Looks like the top table at a wake
