  1. I would love to know how much compo Barker got and also when is McInnes presser scheduled to unveil Awfs? can't wait. Already Bob beech is congratulating the board on making the right decision but no mention of the shocking decision to appoint him in the first place.
  2. Some of the comments at the bottom of the News article are funny but this one below is hilarious, is it from a nutjob I wonder? I particularly love McInnes being referred to as Bolinger Bertie Well hellooo Portsmouth. What a wonderful morning. Great evening yesterday. Catflap, Bollinger Bertie and I met for our usual mid week quaff, was a bit worried that some awkward questions may be asked but it went fine. Catflap had primed our tipsy chum with a couple of bottles of chateau Fratton so he didn't notice when we held the L2 table upside down, thinks we're going for an automatic promotion place, idiot. Catflap says we are very lucky to have the deluded fans we have, some are even trying to explain the non action at the club as "due process". 'kin 'ell, this at the club that sacked a club legend by accident in a tipsy call from our Celtic supporting chairman. I can't wait to see to look on the player's faces this morning! The absolute respect mixed with love will be a real boost to my ego. Byeeeee (but not in the way you wanted) for now.
  3. thanks I have just watched it again. Ricky Gervais could have written "The Office" after watching that. Just watching the body language is fascinating.
  4. This is like Crossroads - a soap programme that was so awful it was compulsive viewing. Can someone post the link to the McInnes/Barker presser, I am going to watch it again when the news comes through.
  5. Love the post code
  6. What's Barker done now? Here is one comment from a fan Dear Board.... Yet again I waste precious pension money following my beloved team. Up until last night I would have sold my soul for PFC. Please pass on a message to Mr Barker from me. and it breaks my heart to say it. After 40+ years of Fratton Park being my 2nd home...I will not set foot in there again with RB as manager. And if he had spoken to Mrs J..or another member of my family.. like he did to a fan last night...I would probably be locked up now. Ashamed.
  7. But sometimes if in doubt rather than go for the risky or suicidal pass it is best to hoof either upfield or into touch
  8. No that is not what I said. It's pretty clear and if you can't understand it then I am not sure how I can make it clearer. I guess it boils down to don't always try to play it out if it could be too dangerous. Sometimes Boruc looks programmed.
  9. It's very quiet at Fortress Fatpipes today - is Mac sharpening his knife I wonder?
  10. Lambert had a good first 45 but as you say was working on one lung for the second half. Something does not quite add up - he's not that old FFS.
  11. Think your observation re Kaboul and Dawson knowing when to hoof very illuminating. There is a time to hoof but we don't know it. Some of our balls around our area are "kung-foo" frightening!
  12. Don't know if you saw the game but think your view a tad harsh on Cork
  13. Allen is just desperate to alleviate the gloom and crap he knows is coming his way on Monday. Even stalwarts like Bob Beech are now tweeting against Barker, Allen does not know when to jump ship but he knows he must. The glory of this thread is it acts like a anadin tablet after a Saints defeat. Just log on, see how worse off they are and already you start to feel better.
  14. Like a lot of good managers he can be stubborn
  15. This - the Osvaldo fiasco was a blow as we are struggling for senior players who, at places like WHL, can step up to the plate. MP is a good manager who is still learning. A new contract will enable us to start planning for the new season now.
  16. On Twitter. I like the guy. He's an honest good pro but he needs to bounce back quickly when he makes a mistake, he went to pieces for 15 minutes today. Hoof ball is dire but occasionally it makes sense (and it can work), I guess the skill is knowing when to hoof and when to play pretty and I'm not sure Artur and the boys have worked that out completely. Boruc's right foot sometimes resembles a shovel.
  17. After the last two games my advice to Artur Boruc and the defence would consist of two very basic instructions. 1. whenever possible play the ball out stylishly from defence but don't take stupid chances with risky or blind passes to colleagues who are either marked or are likely to be quickly shut down. If in doubt there is nothing wrong with a hoof ball (West Ham style) towards your attackers , occasionally it does lead directly to us scoring, (case in evidence J Rod's opening goal today). Don't be afraid of Route 1, it is not a crime, even if your manager is from S America. Don't forget many senior Saints fans were brought up on a diet of John McGrath and Denis Hollywood! 2. by all means have confidence on the ball and don't be afraid of expressing your skills but never ever try and be too clever, remember basically you are first and foremost a defender and you are up against world class forwards who can pick your pocket in a second. Planting a ball into Row Z, Zamora style, is a lot better than being left on your arse by the corner flag asking for a foul that you were never likely to get. HTH it is not rocket science but after Norwich at home and Spurs away I am starting to wonder.
  18. So if Portsmuff is owned by the fans and..... the vast majority of them want Barker out, why is he still in a job?
  19. I think we finally saw the chink in Lovren's armour today. He literally went to pieces after his error just after half-time and for ten minutes was as Alan Parry said "an accident waiting to happen". Some of our passing was woeful/suicidal, just before their first Fonte gave the ball away with a sloppy pass and just before their second Lambert got caught. I now literally shudder when Boruc takes a short pass/makes a short pass. We normally end up conceding possession so he might as well hoof it. As can be seen for Jay Rod's goal route one can be effective. As for Ward-Prowse - we should lay off, he is a kid. Part of his undong is it seems he likes to talk to the press and earlier in the season when things were going better, he did tend to get a bit carried away. He needs to get his head down and let his play do his talking. Thought Lambert to be very impressive in the first half but there were times in the second when in a race with a carthorse my money would have gone on the four legged contestant.
  20. Nice work, fella!
  21. If you have to ask that question you are no Saints fan - smart arse
  22. Far far from it but just goes to show how people like you are determined to read things into my posts that are just not there. I was genuinely intrigued about Robinson as having played for the first team last season his star was on the up and of course he is included in All the Saints. I don't watch much U21 football and he had genuinely escaped my radar until I saw this story. So I wondered whether he was still rated by the experts on here, and if so why he was moving permanently. Nothing more nothing less. I had not known about his injury so my post was an inquisitive one, nothing more nothing less.
  23. Odd that he is described as a starlet and that the move is permanent - would have thought a loan to be more orthodox move right now - and it's odd why you should suddenly insert a comma between 21 and s but I am not going to lose sleep over it.
  24. On Sky's Regional paper talk - According to the Bolton News, Bolton Wanderers are "in negotiations with Southampton starlet Andy Robinson with a view to bringing him to the reebok in a permanent transfer". Bit odd this, I haven't noticed him playing in the U21s recently
  25. Install safe standing areas = lower prices significantly = attract more from the 16-24 age bracket = higher attendances. The youth of today simply cannot afford to go to every game at current prices.
