  1. The truth hurts and I see you can't resist bringing out the old line "Duncan has an agenda". That is precisely what I mean about you can't resist jumping on a bandwagon. Tell me just what is my agenda in your original opinion, I would be very interested especially as now I am all hunky dory with the club as you put it. So come on spill the beans...prove you have an ounce of individualism in that mixed up mind of yours.
  2. Absolutely spot on. Viking Warrior is a magnificent bandwagon jumper to the popular cause. He used to be one of the knitters at the bottom of the guillotine during the French Revolution!
  3. You are making yourself look ridiculous and dare I say it, ignorant with your OTT criticism of Adam Blackmore. Have you never heard the phrase "don't shoot the messenger"? Adam is by far one of the more trustworthy journalists who tells it as he hears it. I have learnt to respect his tweets and updates as pretty reliable. Just because you don't like what you hear doesn't mean you should condemn the person who gives you the news. Remember he has connections with all the Saints players. You live a long way from the action and I think the remoteness is clouding your judgement judging by several of your recent posts.
  4. Hodgson was answering a question put to him by Steve Grant no less
  5. He's doing a book signing of "All the Saints" on Saturday week at West Quay Waterstones, @11.30!!!!!
  6. Remember Crouch telling me he approached Tony Pulis who was then guiding Stoke to the Premiership and secured a deal that he would join Saints at the season's end if Stoke didn't go up. All totally illegal.
  7. Yep, pretty much agree with all your sentiments, something has got to change.
  8. Not arguing with anything you say but you paint a bleak (but probably realistic) picture.
  9. I agree but surely Newcastle have the potential capacity to be that "big fish"? Or does it also come down to how many billions your owner is prepared to invest/lose?
  10. From this morning's Observer, Roy Hodgson's thoughts on Lambert's move - " I congratulate Liverpool on signing a good player, I am sure when you see him against Ecuador he will be running around with all the joy his heart can muster, because he is very happy the deal has gone through. It's a pity for Southampton because they have been terrific this year, but the fact is that the good players in England are always going to gravitate towards the top clubs. That's where the money is, and the Champions League football. UNFORTUNATELY, FOR A CLUB LIKE SOUTHAMPTON, THERE ARE ALWAYS BIGGER FISH IN THE SEA". So is there a chance we will ever become one of the biggest fish or as Hodgson has hinted should we just accept out fate amid the smaller bait fish? Me..... I am going fishing.
  11. Frank, you need to use the return tab on your keyboard now and again to create paragraphs. Have a look at Factless Allen's pieces in the Snooze
  12. That at least bought a smile to my face
  13. Blimey we have lost our talismanic centre forward, our manager on whom all the players dote, two respected academy coaches and May is not even out. You keep sticking your head in the sand mate but excuse me for checking out my life jacket is still under my seat.
  14. £4m = comparative peanuts
  15. Yes it is all a bit galling and the phrase "victim of our own success" is a valid one. I will continue with my support but I am starting to think what is the point. Football as a sport has changed massively since the advent of the Premiership. It is now an absolute requisite that you have a benevolent billionaire as an owner to compete at the top. Whilst we have had that to an extent over the last five years, once Marcus Liebherr passed away I always felt the rug could be tugged a tad and, worse case scenario, pulled completely from under our feet. So what does the future hold? A new manager will take time to settle and he will need to buy and buy quickly. One think is for sure, we have peaked and crucially I don't think there is enough football nous at the club, at present, to ensure we remain a Premiership club. I am not saying the intention/ambition is not there but this week has proved we lack the wherewithal.
  16. Nick surely you can't be that naïve. He's being bought purely as back up, everyone knows Liverpool's lack of a big squad cost them dear, RL is an ideal squad player for them
  17. well that's paid for half of Osvaldo
  18. You can get as angry as you like about KL's plans for the future but she owns the club lock stock and barrel and can do exactly what she likes. One of the drawbacks of being privately owned is we lose the right of protest when things don't go the way we want. Under Lowe he was at least answerable to shareholders, but technically speaking SFC is no longer our club.
  19. Nail on head
  20. He has certainly raised expectations with that statement. I hope he can meet those expectations.
  21. People saying Cortese would have done things better need to get a grip. The reason we are where we are is because NC went off the rails. In fact imo he had been going off the rails for quite a while. Yes he threw money around and fans like Alpine just love that but he knew he was steering the ship towards the rocks and in the end I think he even enjoyed the prospect of hitting them.
  22. Anyone got the latest odds on Stan buying a post-match round in the Guide Dog?
  23. I think I made this very point the day the Liebherrs came to town and was widely condemned at the time.
  24. You don't half change your tune quickly, 24 hours ago he was the best thing since sliced bread now he is just some Argie. You are the ultimate head in the sand merchant
