Agreed, probably slightly biased opinion & Sunderland could probably point to some incidents that went against them. But for me all the major ones went their way today. I guess another day it will go our way.

I thought he was excellent when he came on. Looked like he had a point to prove.

The body check on Gaston sums him up for me, right in front of him & he waved play on. Plenty of other controversial incidents poor performance by Mason today.

Post Match Reaction & MotM: SAINTS 1-1 Sunderland
Under Weststand replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Just in from the pub nice surprise to find the game on, only got to see second half. I thought we were far and away the best team. Lambert unlucky not to score today. Fully deserved a point Gaston looked good when he came on. Gonna have some fun with Osvaldo looks extremely volatile, but also skilful can see him being exceptional when he gets up with the speed off the premier league. Sunderland on that performance will be in for another long arduous season. Least said about Lee Mason the better, simply awful. -
3-0

Well if that's all they can afford for him then that's all they can do LOOK AT HIM. Because they've absolutely no chance for that figure. Man Utd and Arsenal both seem to be paffing around putting in stupidly low bids & getting nowhere. Most Utd supporters at work can't figure it out either.

I don't think he will be dropped for Osvaldo as such. However when Rickie has any slight strains etc we can rest him without fear now. Last couple of years it has been reported that he was carrying slight strains at times, but he's had to carry on playing through them. I like the fact that we now appear to have options, & I don't doubt that we will rotate to suit opposition home & away at times.

B##ger what a stupid time to do it, just when I'm starting work. Hoped it was going to be on this morning. Oh well will have to catch up later.
-
Still can't quite believe it this morning. Also the price is fantastic as well at 12.8-mill. Salivating at the thought of Lambert & Osvaldo could be something really special.

Okay Nicola you've finally sold me IT ACTUALLY IS HAPPENING ISN'T IT! But not a scattergun approach as said already it appears to be structured with a definite plan. Also leaving room for our youngsters to still have the chance to prove themselves with the club. As proved yesterday with four home grown players starting. Exciting times never thought I'd see days like this.

Oi I thought you'ld retired, you tease.

Lol agree with that spitting a image.

Welcome aboard Pablo. Fabulous news

Take about four and a half months off, but expect you back for duty in January. Refreshed and ready for action.

Sky sports Transfer centre at 7.30 with Jim White may be interesting. Seems to be in with Cortese, I wonder if he will break the news shortly?
-
Simply salivating at the prospect of Lambet & Osvaldo, roll on the official announcement tomorrow.

You really couldn't wish for a better week than Rickie has had. I wish I had his numbers for the lottery tonight as he's bound to win the jackpot. Just incredible how Sir Rickie has grown with the club, the guy is probably the best value buy we've ever made.

FULL-TIME - West Brom 0-1 Southampton & MotM
Under Weststand replied to Batman's topic in The Saints
Great start not very often we win on the opening day, fantastic feeling. Clean sheet & a late winner what a week for SRL. I was stuck in a traffic jam most of the match so only had text updates. Reading the posts on here sounds like Chambers had a good debut along with Lovren & Wanyama. Also fabulous to see three 18-year olds & four homegrown players starting today. -
Sounds like it may actually be happening then. Would love this if Osvaldo joins could just be the clinical finisher we need.

Prediction: FIRST PREM MANAGER TO GET THE SACK?
Under Weststand replied to Glasgow_Saint's topic in The Saints
Di-Canio for me looks like a real scattergun approach to their transfer policy this window Ten players in isn't it?? -
WBA ripped us apart twice last season, it will be interesting to see how much we've learned today. I can see us trying to pack midfield & try and shut them down. 1-1 draw would be a decent return today.

Rickie Lambert called up for England
Under Weststand replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in Golden Posts
James Milner, looks like he was a popular scorer. All the players looked trully delighted for him. -
Fantastic words cannot express my delight for SRL. So gutted I had to go to work 5-mins before he came on. I was bouncing in the car & singing Rickie Lambert Englands goal machine when the header went in. 1st touch just 2-mins into his debut what dreams are made of. Scores the winner & goes of with Wembley chanting his name, can it get any better for the big man.

Rickie Lambert called up for England

Real shame but not a big surprise. Rickie will probably get ten to twenty mins during a plethora of substitutions when then game is getting really messy & disjointed. I hope I'm wrong but I think Hodgson will not give him a fair crack at this tonight.
