Fabulous result get in there Saints, can't wait to see Jrods goal sounds something special.
-
Fabulous how we keep producing these youngsters, Gallagher certainly didn't look out of place & probably should have scored, but proved a a real threat whilst he was on. Just shows how far we've come as a club overall when we are slightly disappointed not to win against the league leaders. The only but, is the way we dominate for long periods of games & can't put the chances away. Oh for a clinical striker. Arsenal will know they've been outplayed for long periods & upon reflection realise that they've won a valuable point against a very good Saints team tonight

Post Match Reaction: Sunderland 2-2 SAINTS
Under Weststand replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Very disappointing after such a great first half, but we've been doing that of late. Dominating not taking our chances & paying a heavy price for that. Gutted about Ramirez shocking out of control challenge by Wes Brown & we are really going to miss Lovren. Hope it's not to long but looks like a bad one. Ref simply dreadful once again. -
That second picture is awesome, with the net bulging & the spray coming off the net!

Sounded like a terrific old fashioned FA cup tie, all credit to Burnley for making a hell of a game of it.

Well I feared the worse when I heard Lovren was out today, but we seem made of sterner stuff these days. Sounds like an excellent team performance. Pleased for Gazzaniga today as well hopefully give him a lot more confidence. JRod really seems to be kicking on now as well lovely to see.

Fabulous performance, the team can all be proud of themselves today. Considering all the changes we have had forced on us, that was far more than I expected today. I thought we were a little unlucky not to snatch all 3, but I'm more than happy with a point today. -
Post Match Reaction: Chelsea 3-1 SAINTS
Under Weststand replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
The big difference today was Chelsea matched our work rate & desire they closed us down quicker than we did them. They have some exceptionally gifted players that out thought us at times. It happens in this league, today was a bad day for us. Not commented on Osvaldo so far, but he looked total lost today, dallies on the ball to much doesn't link play well. Fail to see what he offers. End of the day when really good sides hit a purple patch in a game they can destroy anyone no matter who it is. That happened second half to us today. -
So many difficult choices, and so many I'd love to put in. I'd change Niemi with Boruc. Toss up between Wright & Svensson. Those are the easier ones for me, now it gets difficult, Channon, Big Ron, Williams, Armstrong, Moran, Keegan, Paine just to name a few you can make an argument for. The most outstanding missing Le-God. I'd love to get him & Williams in, Williams would be an improvement on big Vic at the moment although I think Wanyama can get better. As for Le-Tiss, the way we play today would he really fit into this current team & work ethic? Probably not because I just don't see him working hard enough for the pressing game we now play. So going mainly off our pressing game today I'd go for a toss up between Channon or Keegan for JRod, I'll just go for Keegan because in his prime he worked so hard off the ball as well as on it it. so my team would be :- Niemi Clyne Svensson Lovren Shaw Wanyama Schneiderlin JWP Keegan Lallana Lambert

Post Match Reaction: SAINTS 4-1 Hull City
Under Weststand replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Fabulous we just get better and better, so glad we won today as I work with a Hull supporter. Told him it would be a regulation home win for us, he was most pi**ed off. He will be even more pi**ed of tonight? I feel I have to pinch myself to believe how well we are playing this season. Long may it continue. -
Hull are a well drilled team, they have proved to be very hard to break down at most of their away games this season. I think we will win but it won't be easy I'll go 1-0.
-
Fabulous news & well done to Adam, Jay & Rickie, so chuffed for the three of them. Have to say I'm a bit disappointed for Clyne who I feel is a great prospect for both us & England.
-
I think Palace are the only nailed on relegation candidates so far. Sunderland probably going to go with them, the last place could be either Fulham or Norwich. I'll just pick Norwich for the sake of the thread. 18-Norwich 19-Sunderland 20-Palace

That has to be one of the most complete & comprehensive victories your ever likely to see. just wish we could have converted a couple more to put the cherry on top. How good would that scissors kick from Rodriguez have been. Can't quite believe this is Saints we are watching at present, seems almost surreal. However long may it continue! Could pick any one of Lallana, Rodriguez or Wanyama for MOM. So Wanyama for me, I just thought big Vic he was immense today hardly put a foot wrong his decision making was almost perfect. -
Arsenal have surprised me, can't quite believe one massive signing Ozil could have made such a difference. They real look good to watch, guess the next couple of months will tell if they are true title contenders. Hull & Cardiff have been a breath of fresh air, and I hope both stay up. Sunderland have been a complete basket case, and look doomed already. They've lost 2/3 of their best players & buying 14 players is no way to build a team. Crystal Palace look way out of their depth & Stoke look like it's going to be a long hard season for them again. I thought Norwich would be doing better, seemed to have some decent signings.

True no complaints about that, but I would have expected a little more balanced editing than they showed tonight. -

BBC showing a well balanced review of the game there then. Must have shown all united efforts on target, showed Osvaldo's effort Clynes shot & our goal & then as the ball went in the commentator said we'd stolen a point. -

Great result, good all round performance. More shots on & off target 54% possession well deserved point today. so glad we kept going & got our just deserts. Lallana was fabulous today a real threat all game. Going to be having a few celebratory drinks tonight & simply enjoy our fabulous start to the season. -

Well seems we've learned to win ugly this year. Pochettino seems to change tactics to suit different styles, and boy is paying dividends. Great performance from Boruc & great to see Lallana back to his best this season. Great finish from Adam today & cool finish from Jay as well. Heady heights tonight fabulous, long may it continue. -
Can we accommodate SRL & Osvaldo in the same team?
Under Weststand replied to doggface's topic in The Saints
Ricky has proved once again how effective he is when dropping deeper & he can play in the hole behind Osvaldo. We have added another good international striker with Osvaldo to the equation & it may take a week or two for the pair to settle into a rhythm & get used to each others game. But good players will soon adapt. And I see no reason why they will not forge a great partnership. -
Transfer deadline day thread (Summer 2013)
Under Weststand replied to Ivan Katalinic's 'tache's topic in The Saints
I'd take Ince, he's one I'd hoped we'd be in from the start of the window. He would be the ideal right side midfielder for us. Works well up and down the flank, does well coming inside & a good eye for a goal. Just not sure he wants to come down south. Would also take Lennon & could be deal to be done with the small amount of Bale money coming our way. -
Dean Hammond signs for Leicester City
Under Weststand replied to doubleonothing's topic in The Saints
He did the job we asked of him, he helped lead us back to the premier league. The goal that sent us on our way 1st game back in the championship against Leeds, was particularly memorable. All the best Dean hope you have a great season, glad you got yourself a decent club like Leicester. -
Lets see how the season shapes up shall we. He is an injury/drop in form of a long run in the team. Also who's to say he won't get that anyway? We seem to have a squad that at last has some flexibility in it so why would we even be looking at off loading Cork or any of the first team squad. If Cork hardly plays this season, only cup games etcetera then I could see him wanting to go, either Jan transfer window or next summer. I don't see this as relevant at the moment.

So cool calm & assured, from someone so young.
