Have to hold up my hands & admit to thinking he was another disaster, just shouldn't have played him until he was fit. Now he is & getting game time looking a lot fitter & he is looking a decent keeper, that some said he was. No problem admitting that.

Well that went better than I expected, solid display after a very difficult few days. Would have been a difficult game regardless, I'm glad the players put in a good shift, and I have to hold my hands up & say it looks like we have a keeper in Boruc, now he's fit & playing he is starting to settle down. Another point closer to safety.

I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for a note of thanks in any upcoming program. As far as Cortese is concerned Nigel Adkins never existed, he's been expunged from our history. Kind of reminds you of Fawlty Towers & the German sketch, don't mention his name I did once but think I got away with it. How hard would it to be to give a simple thank you for the two promotions & wishing him well for the future, not hard & would show just a little class, far to much to expect from this classless regime.

Probably when the new guy actually starts producing a few positive results & it actually looks like we may stay up. Before that don't expect to much rational thinking. Results today won't have helped any.

What a crazy post, I'm bitterly dissapointed in the timing & the obvious way it's been happening behind Nigel's back for weeks. But I can not agree to hoping he fails, Pochettino has been put in and chosen to take a difficult position. NC has rolled the dice when he didn't need to I for one am praying it doesn't come up snake eyes. Long after both Pochettino & Cortese have left the club the one certainty is, we will still be supporting our club, so have a go at Cortese if you like, you don't have to like the new guy simply support the eleven players on the pitch they haven't changed.

I hope not, but I ask myself are we in a better position now than yesterday? I'd have to say no. It feels like the start of the season again the same tough run of fixtures, a new inexperienced manager at this level, no back room staff left for any continuity, my only hope is the team continue to perform & the new guy learns extremely quickly.

The note left for the team just shows Nigel's class unfortunately the same cant be said of Cortese.

Well I hope he proves a huge success. I have major doubts he will, in fact I fear this will be a car crash in the making. But hope to be proved wrong. Still f**cked of with this decision today, and probably not being fair on MP, but he doesn't come with a great pedigree does he failed la liga manager. Probably not the right time for this today.

Sadly you can't argue with anything they say, it's a massive shot in the arm for our rivals. A massive gamble by Cortese.

Thanks Nigel you've given us a great two years, you deserved so much better than you received today. You won't be out of a job long, just go on a prove what a top manager you are. All the best for the future.

Cant really argue with any of that, just feels a bit like we've sold our soul to the devil today. And in our position we need everyone pulling together, to get us clear of the relegation places. Can you honestly say we're in a better position to do that tonight? We've taken a huge huge gamble today I hope it doesn't blow up in our faces.

Your probably right, and I hope MP hits the ground running. Because if he doesn't then it will get ugly very quickly which will help no one. Especially Saints which what we all care about.

Well that was cringeworthy, and disgusting that Cortese left him on his own facing the press. Spineless & classless are two words that spring to mind.

My opinion the new guy should be greeted with either polite applause or silence, no boo's. Then a rousing rendition of Nigel Adkins red & white army, then fully support the team throughout the rest of the game. Vent your anger towards Cortese if you so desire before kick off & at the end. I don't see a problem having a dig at the Don & showing support for Adkins throughout, but support the team as well.

Just woke up been on nights & so disappointed, this could well be a shoot yourself in the foot moment. We have a huge game Monday night confidence would have been high, could all go pear shaped now. Cortèse it's solely your responsibility now. I feel so completely flat now.Thanks for the memory's Nigel you deserve so much better, hope your back with another club soon al the best.

Fabulous result, fantastic comeback and what a great equaliser, well set up by Shaw & a sublime finish from Puncheon. Well done Saints & NA. I feared the worst before hand & was expecting a drubbing second half, so glad I was so wrong. Sets us up nicely for Everton.

Certainly sounding like its not to serious, that will be a relief, after the run of injuries we've had lately.

Sounded like fantastic support today, the feed I was watching plenty of OWTS and Yellows well done to those who went.

Rodriguez dived, the only question for me is did he dive to win a penalty or to get out of the way of what looked a shocking tackle, and penalty's are given for intent. Was Rodriguez supposed to stand and take a possible leg breaking tackle? I can see both sides to this argument, I don't like to see us win by cheating, but for me the tackle had intent & was high. Anyway how many times this season have we had poor decisions against us clear pens not given, maybe over the season we've earned our bit of luck today. Until the authorities decide to bring in retrospective penalties for cheating nothing will change. This however would be a difficult decision for any board retrospectively.

Phew that last 20-mins was nerve racking. Thank god Benteke was total pants, his miss at the end was simply awful, but who cares its three points and a dagger through Villa's hearts. But we really need to get a least one more CB in urgently we were a shambles second half.

That was a really good performance, Back 4-where magnificent, Shaw was fantastic kept OXO quite all game. Same for Cork on the right. Fonte & Yoshida are really growing into the prem. Thought after his shocking start Boruc looked better as the game went on, he now needs a run of games. All in all a good solid team performance & a good start to the new year.

Happy new year all, been a great one so far, a new nephew born just before new year,& son gets engaged to his girlfriend on the stoke of midnight.

Didn't get to see much of Terry as a player, but he is a true club legend & a very welcome return to the club.

Very disappointing, no real penetration today against a very ordinary Sunderland side. We cant really afford to lose these sort of games at home. Lets hope for a better Boxing day
