  1. All gonna depend on your age I guess. Big Ron & Terry Paine Were at the end of their time here so didn't see them in their pomp. Steve Williams & Nick Holmes deserve a mention, so it comes down to Channon & Le-Tiss for me. If I had to pick one Channon just shades it.
  2. End of the day it's just a shirt/kit. It's not a Saints shirt/kit in any sense of the word but still just a kit. Although IMHO a sh*te one. I'm sure some mugs will spend £50 even though they could get the same shirt without the tacky gaudy gold on it for £11.50 online buy a proper Saints badge and sow on for less than half price of the official sh*te sorry meant shirt. I didn't think it could get worse than last years but somehow they've surpassed themselves.
  3. Well last years shirt was terrible, but somehow they,ve made it even worse. Simply awful! #save our stripes!
  4. It probably is cutting our nose off to spite our face, but it is about time someone took a stand against these parasites. If has to be us setting an example then so be it. If the reports are to be believed from Osvaldo & Naingglon saying that their decision is not just about money, it would appear on the face of it that were offering a decent financial package to the players. Looks like its going to be more difficult than Cortese thinks to move us to the next level.
  5. Well I didn't think that it could get worse than last years abismal effort, but if this is what we'll be subjected to then they've managed to pull it of. Total & utter toilet. The gold badge is tacky & garish just to top it off.
  6. Pure and simple, like most on here when the fixtures came out last season it was WTF. Those first four fixtures were as hard as you could have picked for a team beginning their first season back in the prem. So compared to last years fixtures yes there's some winnable games. No big deal really is it.
  7. Well that's a more comfortable start than last years, lets hope we hit the ground running & get points on the board early.
  8. Everton at home 1-1 draw
  9. Been confirmed now on sky sports news it's TRUE . Geordies need to be very very worried now I still can't quite believe it, after that shocking interview last night. Had I been Mike Ashley listening to that I'd have rapidly changed my mind & canceled his contract this morning.
  10. He looks a class act, only slight problem could be his off field antics which hopefully he will grow out of. i would love to see him in, hope we can pull this one off.
  11. Caught the last five mins of the interview on talk sport, the bloke sounded half cut to me. The pronunciation of some of the players was hilarious, Ben Afria , amelobia or amemobia or some such. If I was Newcastle fan listening to that I'd be very worried. The bloke sounded a right delusional tool. I can open any door to any manager in the world LOL. Then he slagged of the fans calling them idiots. Is there any indication from anyone else at Newcastle that this is actually true, as there is still nothing on thier OS. Or are we witnessing another David Icke style public melt down here?
  12. Goodbye Ron another legend gone, RIP big fella.
  13. I remember simply laughing at the twit at the time. When our reserves beat his reserves. Nothing to get upset about. Anyway well done Palace so glad they beat Watford/Udinese Reserves.
  14. Now let me see win a trophy or come forth??? I'd take an FA cup win over forth every time. In forty years time will they be discussing how Arsenal had a great ten year period always coming forth & qualifying for the champions league? No but they will be talking about how lowly Wigan outclassed the mighty Man City to WIN the FA cup. They still talk today about the big cup upsets Sunderland, Saints, West Ham, Wimbledon. A win puts you in the history books & can never be taken away. No one looks at how many times you finished in the top four. However a top four finish is not to be sneezed at & if we don't win the cup next year I'd settle for that.
  15. I loved the sash kit but the favourite was the 1977/78 promotion kit. So some form of stripes for me.
  16. I've seen the original poem before & just been looking & found this slight adaption. I thought it particularly poignant. As my son is in the RAF & also recently returned from afgan my heart goes out to Lee Rigby & his family. I can only try to imagine the grief they are all feeling. For Lee & Family A rose once grew where all could see, sheltered beside a garden wall, And as the days passed swiftly by, it spread its branches, straight and tall... One day, a beam of light shone through a crevice that had opened wide The rose bent gently toward its warmth then passed beyond to the other side Now, you who deeply feel its loss, be comforted - the rose blooms there- its beauty even greater now, nurtured by God's own loving care.
  17. Keeper I'm struggling not sure Blaney really counts but not got another. I'd go with a sweeper so Kenna Waldron Agboola Whitlock Bridge Paine Williams Bale Le-god in the hole Shearer or Channon up front can't make my mind up.
  18. Awful news RIP Teddy. Condolences to Chaplow and family.
  19. I would have taken this at the start of the season, been a bit of a stuttering end, but we've been playing well with no cutting edge. We have a good solid base to build on. Can't wait for next season now.
  20. Not really about how much we spend is it, more about getting the right player's at the right price. There should be some good deals to be done in Spain, & with Pochettino's knowledge should put us well placed to do this.
  21. Well the red and black kits look better than this seasons abominations. I really like the black & gold kit mock up I'd be more than happy with that as the away kit.
  22. Well not looked since yesterday evening & a nice surprise this morning. Glad this is settled so quickly the Don can carry his vision forward. As for Ian Darke Lol no sour grapes there then. I feel slightly uncomfortable with Pochettino's comments, but I guess he is just being honest & they way of football today. You just have to look at Mancini at city.
  23. Signed and best wishes Jim & Coventry City.
  24. I voted keep NC, better the devil you know. It's disappointing having this uncertainty once again, as we seemed to be in great position to consolidate & move forward. Which we still are, but some may have to lower expectations to a more sensible level. There is no reason we can't evolve and become a solid top ten team, occasional euro jaunt & hopefully some good cup runs. Seems we have a difference of opinions on the way forward here. Sounds as though the trustee's maybe want some control/garantee's over any money spent. While NC wants carte Blanche. To me that indicates there is money to spend, just a difference of opinion on how it is used. Or they are asking NC to actual start to implement Saints living within our means, which has always been his & Markus stated goal?
  25. With the potential difference in prize money between 17th ( £3.02-mil ) & 11th ( £7.55-mil )it's a no brainer go for a good win. Put some youngsters on the bench, if we are comfortably winning then get them on.
