I agree, it takes two to tango and the closer that the player gets to the end of a contract then the more it tempting it must be to run it down and take the bounty that comes with a free transfer. I didn't mean that the club are to blame, apologies if it read that way..I think it's just they way it is now, if any club doesn't keep topping up contracts to keep them at 2 years plus then the run the risk of the contract being run down. However, you don't want to be giving everyone really long contracts or you risk ending up with some players you can't get rid of (whether it because they aren't good enough or they are injured etc. I think it's a no win scenario for the club, i don't blame them for the situation and I don't think the players should be blamed. It's just business and each party have to do what's right for them- there isn't any sentiment involved!

By running the contract down the player will get better wages and a better signing on fee, due to the lack of a transfer fee. You are suggesting the player takes less money to give the club more income? If we let the player get within a year of the end of his contract then that's the clubs fault. BTW aren't we rumoured to be doing exactly the same to Blackburn? Not long left on the contract so we offer to pay less? It works both ways and I don't see it as "shafting" the club, more that way things are now.

Why don't they just not look at the comments on social media? Or use some of their millions to employ someone to block any dodgy message before they look at it? Isn't that problem solved?

If you are saying that it wasn't someone from singapore who defaced the mural, What exactly was racist about it? Surely the fact they didn't use anything racist (well I don't see the link if it is) proves the exact opposite of your point..That whilst they defaced it and they were clearly from this country, they chose to not use racist comments?

I don't get this, We are already probably the least hostile away ground in the league, I am not sure that we need to start clapping and cheering opposition players, just because they played for England. They feel comfortable enough already. I am also sure that should we actually win in Qatar, Marcus Rashford won't be dedicating it to the Southampton fans for their polite clapping.

More likely to be shot tbf.

You have to say our squad looks weak even before Ings goes so I could fully understand him wanting to move.

The easy side of the draw probably means the Germans in the final again..even though they are shite!

Didn't Italy sub their goalie just for the lols? Nothing says we are through easy than subbing a random player!

Jimmy Bullard is a very good actor if he doesn't like football!
-
Did you watch Italy? They passed the ball forwards. Wales had the whole team behind the ball but they continued to push forward, England would have just passed the ball around the centre circle for 90 minutes in that game. England need to stop the sideways possession based rubbish and actually try to create something. I honestly don't think the personnel will make any difference..

TBF it's easier to go through than go out..Only 8 teams leave at this stage!
-
Maybe that would suggest a yellow and blue version of the 20-21 Denmark home kit as the away kit?

Football fans biased towards their own team.....what a shocker!

Might have considered one if I knew the were coming without the sponsor on it! Looks much better IMO

If the players truly believe that the booing is racism, shouldn't they walk off the pitch and abandon the game? -

But we also don't live in the USA which is what the original point was? I believe that in trials less than 1% were affected as they didn't bring ID but no data was collected to see what groups they were from so I am not sure why the assumption that certain groups are affected more is given credibility without that evidence? Sorry I just struggle to think that a government that couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery, could actually come up with a plan that works in their favour? -

Or alternatively they are telling the truth and are trying to stop voter fraud? The problem is, if you have a chip on your shoulder, you might believe every decision or every action is someone out to get you when in reality...they probably never even considered you! -

I don't know, someone earlier compared booing at a football match with standing in a field whilst a battle was going on booing the fallen soldiers..That's gotta be up there with this one? -

I don't think I have seen one person say racism doesn't exist? -

Not looking to start an argument with you, just a genuine observation which I just don't get about people like you?..Don't you see the irony in posting that someone else is intolerant when you are displaying massive intolerance to other peoples opinions..Even going so far as using profanities and name calling? -

I agree, there should be hotline so people can be reported because their thoughts are determined by how someone else perceives their actions. -
Yeah as I see the argument, that was fine as our kids wore the same kit as our first team. In this case the kids wear a kit which resembles Brentford due to the same sponsor rather than our own first team. Surely the kids want to wear the same as their hero's- which is why they pay extra to have their names on the back..I get they can't have the same in this case but IMO only they would be better without a sponsor...However as I said my kids have grown up so it doesn't bother me either way really, i was just saying I can see the side of the argument that is being made.
