Southampton , the small time club with big ambitions.
lordswoodsaints replied to robbie1717's topic in The Saints
Basic rubbish IMO, 27 years in the top flight but the writer makes it seem that we struggled for most of it,also more could of been written about the young English talent that we have rather than focusing on the imports. -
Wtf

I reckon our back 5 will be far too strong for anything they have to offer upfront for sure, our centre midfield will be a good battle and I reckon their back line will have problems coping with our high tempo attacking, probably resorting to dirty tactics leading to a high number of fouls in and around their box......IMO they havnt yet faced a team like ours and they will lose.

At the moment,if he left tomorrow he wouldn't be missed,he has done very little to justify the hype and price tag surrounding him but that is not his fault,he needs to work harder to fit into the way the manager wants the team to play because at the moment there are 1 or 2 other players in front of him who are doing it better and getting a regular game. I hear a lot of people say he's obviously got talent but overall I havnt really witnessed anything special. Overall he hasn't impressed me,but it's not me he's got to impress.

Anyone else not exactly thrilled by Lovren?

This thread is exactly why I would end my support for the club if it was run by the fans or if a fan was ever elected to the board, 99.9% of them are ****ing numpties and I include myself in that. -
I think we have to trust the managers judgement as his judgement is gold at the moment. Gaston has produced very little in most games I have watched him and I suspect that this carries on in training sessions, the boy needs to realise that he is being paid a lot of money to perform and to put in the hours on the training pitch to put himself in contention of a place in the match day squad,if he isn't doing that then he deserves to be left out,if he is doing it then there is obviously some other problems going on.

Lallana has been on form in the last few games, his confidence is high and he's back to his best, but previously he was a bit of a liability, lots of tricks that didn't amount to much and a bit lightweight. It's just form,it happens to all players we've just got to hope it is a sustained period of form.

I think he's on the same level as Adkins,a decent lower league manager but will never make anything of themselves in the top league, although Adkins is a bit more dignified holloway is comedy gold.

They seem to forget we are the booloxx and above them -
This. Exactly what the commentators on the feed I was watching said and if I'm honest I agree.he looked a bit lost today, and if you imagine the team as machine he was a cog that was spinning the wrong way.

Get in,great work rate and commitment, not as many shots on target as I would like but it was against Manu at old trafford so not much to worry about.....keeps us in the right place COYR -

Cortese settles compensation case with Adkins
lordswoodsaints replied to Maggie May's topic in The Saints
He did a decent job when he was here but he was never going to kick us on to where we want to be,my only regret about his departure was that he didn't go sooner,he should of been sacked at the end of the championship season when he very nearly fooked up our chances of promotion. He's found his level ,he's got his compo and now we should let sleeping dogs lie. -
Wrongly or rightly you have been ejected because you were caught drinking in a no drinking area. What are you doing drinking an unknown substance from a flask given to you by a stranger? The club will probably make an example of you and you will be banned but saying all that I have seen people sat near me trying to sneak drink back to their seats and they just have it confiscated, nothing more said so I'm guessing there is more to your story, perhaps they have been watching you more than you think or it is a bigger problem in your area that they are clamping down on. Good luck with getting your season ticket back but I would prepare for the worst.

Post Match Reaction & MotM: SAINTS 2-0 Crystal Palace
lordswoodsaints replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Great result,we were never in any danger, they were no threat at all and the stats show it,clean sheet and both strikers scoring is the best part though....couldn't ask for more. Anything other than a win today and I would've been bitterly disappointed and the same for next week. COYR -
Should MP be sacked if we don't get 3 points at Anfield?

Phew that was lucky,he didn't realize how close he was to losing his job -

I think this is another case of trying to solve a problem that doesn't exist. Homophobia, racism, sexism, laughing at people who are different all exist in society in general and football is no different but it is not practiced by the majority, the majority of the population are tolerant.

Who said anything about nicest? Ossie hasn't impressed me,he's got a few flicks and tries a few things that other players probably wouldn't try, nothing more or less than lallana does tbh so I if we are talking about who should be up top in a straight fight between him and lambert then I would go for lambert, lambert is a proven goal scorer for us and a good old fashioned English centre forward.....lightweight flicky, tippy tappy foreigners don't impress me,it's not personal it's just personal preference and a point of view.
-
£1m bargain English international, proven premiership goal scorer, southampton legend loved by the fans vs unproven foreigner that came with a hefty price tag who runs off the pitch at the end of every game without shaking hands with anybody and never acknowledges the fans, probably needs a haircut. Difficult one that!
