  1. and in 90 mins of football each player on the pitch usually only touches the ball for less than 90 seconds.
  2. recession?,what recession? its boom time in the land of lordswoodsaints. ive never had it so good.
  3. sad to say there is nothing left in this dying country to be proud of,at every turn the traditional english way of life is chastised and ridiculed not only by our own government but by the rest of the world.an englishman is made to feel a racist just for flying the flag or for just being english.our nationality and identity has been so badly eroded by years of abuse at the hands of the pc brigade in europe and at home. the country is full to the brim with foreigners, greed has become the norm and this is reflected in the premiership and the national team. i am an englishman and i am proud to be so but i am not proud of the national team.the the players are just another bunch of greedy fvckers who only want to play for their clubs.to play for your country today doesnt mean the same as it did 20 years ago and imo supporting your country doesnt either. the premiership is partly to blame for the state of the national team, also the likes of ferguson who sticks the knife in at every oppurtunity this coupled with greed, constant abuse by the press, the reluctance to look outside of the prem for players, players not being picked on merit but on reputation and some of the best players in the world not being able to string 2 passes together. so its saints for me all the way,id rather be dissapointed on a local scale rather than a national one.
  4. the truth is that the richest premiership clubs no longer need fans, they dont need their money and are most likely frowned upon as an interfering annoyance. the likes of chelsea, manu and now man city no longer need to rely on the income generated by gate receipts to pay the players as it probably wouldnt even be enough to pay the wages of 1 star let alone 11. i certainly dont agree with a club buying the league, but it would be nice to have a few quid to be able to compete on a more even keel.
  5. 3 options, pick which one you fancy... a) nobody wants us b) nobody has the money and time to buy us. c) we aint worth what they are asking .
  6. i contacted mark dennis last night to see if he could help by getting a message to the players or give it a mention on his radio show,i havnt heard anything yet but hopefully he will be able to do something.
  7. i know mick jr used to post on here so perhaps if he still does he will give his old man the heads up that the players might do the celebration.
  8. not forgetting the game is on the tv,and will hopefully go someway to attract a few more fans back to st marys.
  9. if any of you score on saturday please consider celebrating in a mick channon windmill arm style celebration. it was mentioned on the other channon thread but i thought it deserved a thread of its own to bring it to the attention of any of the players or staff that may be watching. this would be brilliant to see todays young stars celebrating with the 'windmill' and would bring a smile to micks face. if you dont know how to do it here it is http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=0VSOpeYqgSI
  10. i laugh at you being very brave sat in front of a computer screen.please feel free to take offence, nothing would please me more. very funny.
  11. just ignore it and jog on then big fella.
  12. im certainly a better fan than you wss. i couldnt give a rats arse if the fans come back or not,it is their loss.i support my local team and i am proud of that,i dont support my local team on a part time basis.
  13. touched a raw nerve it seems. far from perfect just realistic and i tell it like it is.
  14. the 'stay aways' will return like a bad dose of untreated crabs if the team are challenging for promotion or a decent cup run.they will all come scuttling back and denying that they ever stayed away. i have never stayed away because i dont like somebody or dont agree with a certain policy, even in the branfoot days i still attended,i may not have liked what was happening but to be a selective fan is not being a fan imo.
  15. we deserved the win,we worked hard to play the game in the right way and at our pace, dictating most of the play. we rarely looked like conceding but always looked threatening when coming forward. keep up the good work.
  16. did you not see the ?,and just because a bid is rejected it doesnt mean that a deal is dead. everything might be black and white in the world of WSS but this is real life.
  17. just heard from one of my sources in the media that saints have had a bid for higginbotham rejected. the source is normally pretty reliable and i have no reason not to believe him,but i must say does he really fit into the new dutch revolution if true? anybody know if all the KJ money has been paid up or is this going to be the payoff? have to say i would be happy with him returning and he seems to like the red and white stripes...........saints,stoke,sunderland and saints again?
  18. arry is driven by money and if he gets the sack he will go to the highest payers and that certainly will not be us.
  19. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/?page_id=10482 is this you and your family?
  20. the best way to see how saints are really doing is to attend games, you cant get better than first hand experience and forming your own opinions, not the opinions of some biased second rate news reader/journalist.
  21. too true, you are paying for the name imo. let the premiership boys waste their money on old rope,if they cant be bothered to look around for a bargain then let them get on with it. sunderland are just another yo-yo team, they will be down more than they will be up. keane doesnt have an eye for a decent player like the man he is trying to emulate (alex ferguson) and wastes millions on players who are second rate then quickly runs out of patience with those players. i for one would love to see that smug 'potato head' fall on his arse, better still i would love to see him in the street and then put him on his arse.
  22. funny you should say that,i was just saying to a mate of mine how much holmes reminds me of steve moran.
  23. this is not my argument,im not excusing what lowe is doing and i can only guess why its happening,im just saying that we were told that it was going to happen but still people are surprised and outraged...................it doesnt make sense. i can only assume that we are selling players and making cutbacks because we are skint,a good guess imo and probably the right one. i dont want lowes dream,i want what is best for the club to survive and if that is 'lowes dream' then so be it. im afraid that i am not as anti lowe as some on here, but that doesnt make me a 'lowe luvvie' it makes me a realist.
  24. although davis has his shortcomings i dont feel comfortable with bart in goal,he's a bit of a fumbler imo.i dont know enough about forecast to make a judgement.
  25. i think you will find there was a large change of personnel the season after we won the cup.
