We are an average magnolia team, we have gone backwards since promotion but we are where we deserve to be, mid to low half of the table is where I expect us to be at the end of the season, unfortunately Liverpool is where we could’ve been. If we finish mid table then that’ll be a good season.....expect nothing else from a Mark Hughes team, backed by a boring but financially stable club. YAWN.

I checked the season ticket stadium view yesterday just before deadline and checked it again this morning and it doesn’t look much different to be honest, so either most people have renewed or they havnt updated the stadium seating availability.

Bournemouth will inflict the final blow

Yes, that is a mainstay in every contract. This needs to change, I suggest that every contract has a clause that reads ‘should a club get relegated then you will have to stay for at least 1 more full season on reduced wages to try and get the club promoted again’ this should sort out the problem of players in relegation threatened teams from not giving a **** and not trying to play their way out of trouble. Money is the god to these people.
-
Like I’ve said all along, the players are playing themselves into a better contract at another club when the old relegation clause kicks in and as much as I dislike Hughes as a manager, we are stuck with him, he was never going to be the right man for the job but to be honest nobody was, the task to stay up is just too damn hard with the players we have and their attitudes. You can bet your life that the majority of the first teams have feathered their nests elsewhere in anticipation of our relegation, and Hughes is in a win win situation because he can just walk away from the mess that’s left, shrugging his shoulders, counting his money and saying ‘I tried my best’. The whole thing stinks and although we can stay up it’ll only be for another season unless things drastically change, which I can’t see happening.

Wigan 0 Saints 2 - Post Match Thread
lordswoodsaints replied to Secret Site Agent's topic in The Saints
My assessment is Wigan did great, their tactics worked well for most of the game, the tactical watering of the pitch also worked in their favour, their GK played a blinder and with some better finishing they could’ve been 2 or 3 up at half time......but the most important thing for me that came out of that game was that we overcame all of that and ended up looking like a half decent side with a win and a bit of confidence, I’m happy with that, small steps in the right direction. COYR -
I tried but at an average speed of 40mph it would’ve taken to long, got as far as the a34.... Good luck and stay safe to all those that make it.
-
Tried to get 3 tickets at about 5pm but they’ve already sent them back to Wigan so they suggested I ring the Wigan ticket office and I was told that they can’t sell me a ticket but I can pay on the turnstile.....don’t know if I want to chance that so I’m going to source tickets through other means.

Official..Southampton appoint Mark Hughes.
lordswoodsaints replied to saint lard's topic in The Saints
Glad it’s only until the end of the season, don’t really want to be stuck with him, but anything is an improvement on pellegrino and he’s in a win win situation. I just hope the new manager effect gets us a few points. Good luck -
I’m underwhelmed if it is Hughes, I’m not sure he is the answer to our problems. Never been a fan of his bit it’s definitly a step up on the last fella but to be honest, anybody is a step up. I guess we will just have to back him and see if he can pull us out of the ****.
-
Not convinced by silva, he seems a divisive character and I don’t think we need that at the moment, also his record at Hull was crap, 3 points from safety when he arrived,6 points from safety when he left. We need somebody that can make an impact quickly and can kick some ass but won’t walk away at the end of the season.
-
Awww I liked him, missing him already ?
-
Hahaha 2m is peanuts, no decent manager will come for that, minimum will be 5-6m, plus the payoff to pellegrino plus the pay for the new fella, you will be talking £12m minimum. They just don’t have the stomach to spend the money I’m afraid. Hope I’m wrong but I doubt I am.
-
He doesn’t setup to win but to try not to lose, but as the pressure builds and we don’t win then his mantra just intensifies and the decisions he makes before and during the game just become more negative in desperation not to lose, so a win becomes less likely in every game.

Relegation, parachute money raped by the owners , owners sell up on the cheap and walk away with a big smile and bank balance.....the plan is working perfectly.
-
its written in the stars that Bournemouth will strike the final blow that’ll send us down.

Club Statement: Season ticket holders unable to make it today
lordswoodsaints replied to Bad Wolf's topic in The Saints
I’m jealous of the people who couldn’t make it today.....lucky bastards -
When are you lot gonna realise that not one player at the club gives a rats ass about us or the club? If they show any emotion towards the fans or the club then it’s fake. They are footballers who are looking to maximise their income as much as they can in the short period of time that they are pro footballers. If we go down then they are set to make more money than if we stay up as they will all have clauses in their contracts to protect their income from the problems that relegation caused to their finances, they will just trigger those clauses and move to another club on a better wage with a signing on bonus.

Relegation....how do we prepare as fans?
lordswoodsaints replied to saint lard's topic in The Saints
The job of a premier league club fan is to pay your money, turn up, spend more money, keep ya mouth shut and then **** off home, if you think that the club want you for anything else then you are seriously deluded. There is no connection, there is no say in how the club is run and they definitely don’t need you. We are where we are because we are crap, our only glint of salvation is that there are a few teams who are crapper than us or on a par with our crappiness, we are just lucky that if we survive then it won’t be because we have turned a corner but more to do with the teams around us being absolute ****e and the whole league, apart from a couple of teams, being very weak. So the way to prepare for relegation is to realise that all the bull**** sayings like ‘we march on’ and ‘the southampton’ mean **** all, we are just a club that will be happy to be mid table, sometimes flirting with the top 6 but mainly struggling to stay up, getting dragged into relegation battles and probably flip flopping between the prem and the championship. Once you come to terms with that and stop being a complete ****wit who thinks that we will kick on to better things then you will be able to deal with relegation with ease. We don’t march on and the Southampton way is to be a selling club that is mediocre, has no ambition but occasionally punches above its weight and also flirts with relegation.....that’s reality. -
Sorry can’t do that, without people like me telling people like you that you’re a complete **** then how the hell will you ever learn? Cliche sayings made up by a bunch of marketing ****wits are only suitable for idiots who repeat them over and over and over to justify saints F.C. inadequacies on and off the pitch.
-
Anybody who says ‘we march on’ is a complete ****wit IMO

Guido Carrillo - Official: Free Transfer to Elche
lordswoodsaints replied to Mr X's topic in The Saints
Overpriced, mediocre player I think he was a panic buy and they knew we had money to spend. It’s about time we bought a striker that gets off to a flying start instead of one that is unfit, suffering from no confidence, struggling to adapt etc.
