  1. I am based in Harrogate, North Yorkshire I know there is at least 1 other saints fan on this forum and wondered if there were any others around us?
  2. Vital win and a professional performance!
  3. To get the win over Burnley was massive however they come. This is another huge game, we have to beat teams at home that you would expect to be in the bottom half. I would expect we need 6 points in October from the the 4 fixtures especially playing West Brom, Chelsea, Everton and Villa that would set us up nicely going into a difficult November although we should pick up some points in December too.
  4. When you look at stats for us 5 shots 1 on target, 1 goal, 3 points. Burnley only had 2 shots on target. Ultimately enough to win this one. Move on job done. However if we want to compete with the better teams we need to create more chances.
  5. I wouldnt be surprised if the so called "football blackout" with TV audiences is overturned. Making 3pm kick offs available to say Amazon or a Premier League app streaming service, you could make even extra cash. You would usually have 3 or 4 Saturday 3pm kick offs which if were all available you could sell either individual games or as a pay per month similar to Amazon Prime or Prime would have all the games available. Under normal circumstances they aren't available unless a dodgy unsteady stream can be found this could open up the market in the UK and personally I dont think it will affect attendances which was the original argument to block stop it in the '60s
  6. He was (imagine still is) the leading English born goalscorer in professional football. He is an excellent Championship/League 1 player where you get the extra space and not the best defence although he managed a couple or so last season, not the best Premiership player
  7. I always think "derbies" are a personal choice, ours is always going to be bigger than theirs etc. There will be fans in Sheffield wondering how they are rated below USA clubs when the distance between them is about 3 miles and when Derby day happens it halts the city. Although I enjoy a good Derby and especially enjoy beating Pomey, our Derby probably doesn't mean anything to Liverpool and Everton fans for example
  8. With Adams and Obafemi you would like to think they have the potential to score 15 goals each a season but they aren't a 20+ goal strikers. We need to keep Ings but got to be £75mill + in today's market, I would like us to go after Ollie Watkins from Brentford maybe loan him back for a season but he could easily fit into the plans as has pace and works hard and can score although will come at a price.
  9. Definitely, afternoon tea and scones 😂 I can't believe they are playing the likes of Bradford and Bolton fairly recent Premiership sides. Yeah I am hoping Leeds away will be at a time when crowds are allowed as that will be my local away match, makes a change from either Manchester or Newcastle.
  10. That's fantastic that we have some more supporters up here and it's great your son is involved. They are a great community club so will be interesting to see how they do against the established football league sides but a good journey for them. I was watching the game from the Empress pub up the road against Pompey the power cut didn't help especially as had work the next morning 😂
  11. My "local team" have been promoted to the football league for the 1st time in their history through the playoffs. It's the same team that Bompey unfortunately beat in the FA Cup. I got into following the saints through my cousin who lives in Sholing and as families do got "corrupted" into following them, although a 500 mile round trip I only get down a few time a season but do get to a few away games given the chance cold wet Tuesdays in November that's usually me and digital radio /podcasts are great for keeping up-to-date.
  12. Do we really think Nathan Ake is worth £40million+ he played in a team relegated. I suppose time will tell but seems over priced to me.
  13. This season Sheff United have only conceeeded 3 goals as the most they have conceeeded in a game that was twice against Man United, once against Newcastle and us yesterday. Bizarrely they got beat twice against Newcastle, then 3 of the top 5 of Leicester, Liverpool and Man City and finally the other team was us. So against a good defensive team defended well especially Mcarthy's saves against Sharp and Lundstram (after the 1st goal) but to score 3 is an incredible achievement too. Che looks like he has confidence and given a short break before preseason starts he hopefully can continue the run again.
  14. If the rumours are correct and he is being tied into a contract to last until 2025 that's a big statement of intent
  15. Sounds like my football career review 😂
  16. Agreed with Godfrey still young enough although might be good for him to have a season on loan in Championship perhaps? There is Timm Klose too and nearly a year ago in August player of the month Pukki was banging them in.
  17. To be fair £10mill is cheap these days for an up and coming talent if you were looking at a similar player coming through Brentford or at Fulham they would be asking double.
  18. The problem with Europa league it probably would have been starting this week somewhere for ultra qualifying round in Slovakias Premier league or something but we wouldn't exactly get an off season even though the off season is going to be short anyway an Europa league qualifying would make it ridiculous, Latvia on a Thursday followed by whoever on the Sunday.
