Got an email this week from the club telling me that as "Membership + " holder I could get a fiver off the match prices for the Man U game which is an A* tier match. I have already got my Liverpool match ticket which is also an A* game, but there was no fiver off those prices. I am a little confused by all of this "Membership +" and "ordinary member" status and four tier prices for matches and money off which I thought did not apply to A* games but "only" A or B or C tier games. What is the truth... should there have been a fiver off the Liverpool prices too ? Perhaps Liverpool are A* + being Euro champions ...lol

Liverpool agree world-record £75m deal for Virgil van Dijk

Wow that is an awful lot of money and so fair play in achieving the sale price. Now, who gets to spend that kind of money plus any past profits ? Suspect any potential players we show interest in have just gone up in value by £10m or so...gulp.... Losing 5-2 to Spurs will also indicate that we DO NEED to spend and that will also add to any value we are asked to pay ..... Oh well, not my money and so spend it and see what happens. Have fun and looking forward to January to see what happens. -
Those who were not at the game be careful to base your views of the game on MOTD. The edited highlights did not show one or more chances we had in the first half but were brilliantly blocked by Burnely defenders. They did not show Tadic and Redmond briefly swapping sides and then going straight back to playing on the side that their weaker foot determines they always cut inside and straight into the strength and depth of Burnley defending - it was too easy of them. Why we replaced a forward with a forward rather than a forward on for a midfielder I don't know. I would agree, having been at the match, that the team played much better BUT the formation at home is too defensive and not working together. We need two forwards on the pitch if we have any hope of scoring. We need to get to the byline and get behind their full backs. We only had two shots on target by half time... it is not enough and we are the home club. The mood in the Kingsland was pretty negative and that is a shame but they are the minority. The majority want to stay and watch and cheer their team to a glorious win or at least a valiant defeat. I would rather have lost 4-3 yesterday if I know my team had really really tried their best and were set up to win....just lost to the better team. But we were not the worse team at all.... they got one chance and took it and that is really annoying.... to be polite.

Simple answer would be "no" Whilst life under Koeman was good in the beginning he inherited a pretty good squad and then did not seem to build on it. Yes, we sold players, our better players but we had good youth players emerging to take their place and money to spend... something he had Everton and we all now know how that has worked out.

Post-Match Reaction: SAINTS 0-2 Liverpool
parkgatesaint replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Mane did not start because he arrived too late at the stadium. RK stuck to the rules the club has and that meant he was on the bench. Big call. The midfielders need to help out and score. WBA and Palace coming up are now MASSIVE games having not got a draw, AT LEAST, today -
No, we will not catch the top three up as at today and Arsenal and Spurs are playing well and so I can see five clubs above us come the end of the season
-
what can we do...we cannot score goals for fun anymore...

Thanks for the 150 appearances Jack, good goals and well played....and thankfully cannot play on Sunday. If you appear at the ground I am sure you will get many "well done" and "thanks". Your injuries, from time to time, simply prevented you keeping your place. You were great to have in the squad - starting or coming on as a sub.

Rickie - Just read your letter on another forum website link and wondered what fans were saying on this - totally agree with the positive nature of the responses. You have lived our dreams…the five year plan was achieved and look at you now, playing for England and we supported a team that won most points ever in the Premiership. You enjoyed the promotions, we enjoyed being there and putting you on our shoulders. I cannot wait for Southampton v Liverpool at SMS and you come on after 60 minutes to both sets of fans applauding - it will be awesome. Thanks for five years and enjoy playing for your dreams - whilst we remember ours. ParkgateSaint

I am afraid that I have to agree with the article….there is a glass ceiling which we have flown up against this season, big time and at the moment it feels like we are floating down with a big bump on our head as players are and will be picked off.
