If Perraud is as good going forward as has been suggested (dribbling & crossing), but not quite so good at defending (which I think I read) we could use Williams in the back four and use Perraud as a left winger instead of......dare I say it.....Redmond. And then if either Brandon Williams or Perraud go forward......the other one covers. Bloody genius I tell you!

I haven't read through all the posts so apologies if this theory has already been mentioned. My guess is, he will already have spoken to someone who is going to come in for him. They will leave it for a few "respectful" days and then a bid will come in, possibly by the end of this week. Purely speculative thoughts. I don't see he would have called off negotiations with us, with the offer of a four year deal and a pay rise unless he was sure someone is coming in for him with a better offer. Watch this space I reckon.

Tella seems to be developing quite well under Ralph too.

And Neil Armstrong to take us as high as the moon!......or maybe Lance Armstrong will have done that with his enhancements!
-
With Stuart Armstrong playing in the middle, the possibility of Adam Armstrong up front, all we need is Stretch Armstrong in goal. Job done!

Just a thought. With Nuno going to Spurs, and the possibility of Kane leaving, what are the chances, assuming he has recovered from his horrific injury that Spurs will go for Raul Jiminez as a replacement. They would have the money and Nuno obviously likes him. It might mean that the possibility of Danny Ings going to Spurs would disappear. Just a thought....

I absolutely take your point and not arguing.....although it was probably the poorest German team we've seen for years, and but for two very good saves by Pickford and Muller missing an easy chance the outcome could have been a whole lot different. Again....I'm not arguing the logic of your points at all. Absolutely spot on. But I did say in my post that it's just a nagging feeling. Stranger things have happened. The very unfortunate incident with Christian Eriksen has probably galvanised the squad and I can imagine their incentive is now "This one's for Christian". Hopefully by Saturday evening that nagging feeling will have been blown out of the water.
-
Of course I want England to win, but I just have this nagging feeling that after what happened to Christian Eriksen in their opening game, Denmark's name might be on that cup......which would obviously make for a great story.
-
The question is, can he play in goal?
-
Just imagine.....we beat Everton 1-0 in Rafa's first game and......wait for it......Theo scores the only goal in his first "official" game having signed permanently from them. Unlikely I know but imagine the "fallout in the land of dugouts"
-
Haha....Thanks for pointing that out Jonnyboy........I'll take that one on the chin.

The bidding war for Lemina will go something like this..... Newcastle: "£5m" West Ham: "£4m" Newcastle: "OK then, £3m" West Ham: "Alright then, £2m" Newcastle: "£1m and that's our final offer" Saints: "Done! It's a deal"
-
Les will probably say it is him and take the credit for the win anyway

Some Everton fans not happy. All is not well in the land of Dug Outs. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/57634872

I don't disagree with you at all Ron. I have always seen it as supporting the club. The cheaper shirts obviously offer an option to people who can't afford £55 a shirt but I do wonder if the clubs charged £30 per shirt, how many more they would sell and would it encourage those buying the "rip off" shirts to buy the official ones thereby supporting the club. I always buy an official one, but there are folk out there (and if you're having to buy for your kids as well) who simply can't afford the official ones. I'm no businessman but that just my thoughts.
-
It probably is, but then charging £55 (plus extra - if you want a name and number on it) for an official one that was probably thrown together in a sweat shop somewhere is probably immoral.....
-
Very good! Slightly off topic, but reminds me - many years ago, Charlton Athletic apparently lined up with a back-four which read.... WHITE FISH COSTA FORTUNE

Sterling looks as though he has spent the week reading "The Nathan Redmond Big Book of Football Skills".

Shit. I'm sad to see him go. Who's going to replace him in the Bambi on Ice pantomime this Christmas. Can someone drive him to Anderlecht, just in case he gets lost and ends up back here.

I know Whelk mentioned this previously. I think McCoist is a really good co-commentator. I was never a fan of his in years gone by, but he talks a lot of sense and puts it across in an entertaining way. Sky would do well to give him a contract and replace Mr "Depressing" Hinchcliffe and Mr "Jabbermouth" Carragher. Not sure about the woman co-commenting on ITV the other night though. I don't know who she was but she had the most boring voice and seemed to have all the personality of a multi-story car park. And I think another Whelk comment I have to agree with (sorry, I can't find the quotes). The referees in this tournament have been a breath of fresh air and are really showing up the clowns that we have in the Premier League. They are allowing games to flow, not stopping the game every time a player touches an opponent, by and large they are confident in their decisions and stick with them. VAR is all but invisible, but has certainly been used correctly for a couple of correct offside decisions.

That's going to ruin Jack Grealish's game plan then.

What do Wikipedia know that we don't? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Romain_Perraud Does that make me ITK? (Hahahaha) (Just seen that Wiki has changed again - it was showing that he is left back for Southampton FC - it has reverted to his own club so apologies as this message now makes no sense at all and my ITK status is in tatters!!!🤣)
-
Looks a reasonable replacement for Shane Long tbh.

I don't think I could ever support Scotland but good luck to Stuey. Our best player this season and thoroughly deserves this. Hope Che gets some minutes as well. Che seems like very much a confidence player and if he were to bang a couple in for Scotland in this tournament it could make a big difference for us next season.

Wesley Hoedt. He can't be any worse in goal than he is as an outfield player.
