Anyone know if the Watford friendly is open to fans? Can’t find any info on it from either club.
-
Not seen this one mentioned, Danny Fox away at Arsenal season we went up and we lost 6-1, he scored our only goal but got absolutely ruined by Gervinho & OX all game and it was made clearly obvious he was not good enough for the Prem.

Glad someone else remembers the 20 mins of Paul Wotton football genius at Brentford away, that, Lee Barnard missing a sitter and it being a mid week game is all that sticks out in memory.

Fraser Forster - Official: Signs for Spurs

Wasn't the rumour that he cheated on his missus and she didn't take him back? -
Asked my spurs mate who went a few weeks ago and they sell Asahi on draft in the away end. He also says it’s the worst new ground he’s ever been to.
-
When was the last time we’ve had a Saints goal ruled out on VAR? The tight call for Newcastle had me thinking but I can’t recall a recent goal that’s been disallowed for us.

Anyone looking to make that last train I would avoid WHL station unless you can leave the game early. Not worth the risk as you can be waiting up to an hour to get on a train there.
-
Yeah definitely cant get a train Northumberland to Liv street. In theory you could get a train from Northumberland to Tottenham Hale then catch either a Gatwick Express or Stansted Express 1 stop to Liv Street. However the oyster/contactless doesn't cover this route despite being in LDN and tickets are £20 so really not worth it - although I highly doubt you'll find an inspector on the brief 5 min train journey.
-
The train from Northumberland Park doesn't go to Liv street, only Stratford. I reckon that travelling out east to Stratford to come back in on the tube to Waterloo wouldn't be worth it either. The best bet for Waterloo would be get on the Victoria line either Tottenham Hale/Seven Sisters then go Oxford Circus - Bakerloo to Waterloo.
-
If I was rushing out the ground to catch that last train back to Soton Id actually walk to Tottenham Hale instead of Seven Sisters - same distance and no queues for entry at station or on the platform for the Tubes.

All very positive stuff which is hard to take as a natural pessimist. I've not seen anyone mention a name change yet. There has been a lot of comparison with the Red Bull group but if we are to become the figure head for this corporate sporting group how would we feel about changing our name to Sporting Republic Saints or FK Partizan Southampton? The Man City group obviously keep their clubs names and identity but I wouldn't rule us out on doing the same. I for one don't really care if it meant we became a European elite and won silverware.

Imagine going on an Internet forum and seeing a bunch of strangers speculating on where exactly you live.

I was lower tier a few weeks ago and they were serving at ht, upper this time and no beers so that could be a thing? My last few trips to Watford they’ve not served any at all even pre game but the less time spent in that concourse the better. -

Saints fans were class last night, best I’ve heard us in years and hopefully same again at Watford. Annoying that they didn’t serve alcohol at half time. Someone behind the bar said it was because a toilet got trashed and a steward told me the police had instructed them to do so due to trouble in the concourse before the game? -
1 Hour 16 mins in if anyone wants to listen

Always hope for a London away draw in the cup but this was definitely the worst possible one after going to the Bridge 3 weeks earlier. Brentford would of been the preferred choice. I’m still slightly optimistic, we always seem to give a good account for ourselves in the away cup games in London. The 3-2 loss at Spurs a few years ago springs to mind as a great game/evening but in recent years we’ve knocked out arsenal at the Emirates a couple times and always seem to get Fulham at the cottage and beat them. Chelsea will offer us the entire end behind the goal for this, 5k I think? Whether we will take the full allocation after taking 3k up there 3 weeks earlier is questionable, another Ldn trip that weekend aswell with Watford away may deter some fans. -
Is there a designated away pub for this one?
-
So do we need to provide proof of a negative test /double vaccination or not then? Seeing conflicting things, does it only apply to Everton fans?
-
You’d expect people would be used to our best players leaving, more so the ones who gain a special status among fans. I still have trust issues from the Lallana transfer. If Ings stayed and did another few years on a new contract he could of become a club legend. He didn’t, oh well. I will still remember his time here fondly and should be received well on his return to St Mary’s. His two goals and subsequent knee slide in front of the Fratton End is an iconic saints moment, possibly one of the best we’ve had in a long time.
-
Anyone know roughly how many tickets are left on sale for Everton?
-
Ings has just been done for speeding at 3am, the night we lost 9-0 to United.
-
A Spurs mate who knows people at the club - not particularly reliable but doesn't look like we have much else to speculate on at the moment
-
Apparently we are about to sign Ryan Sessegnon on loan from Spurs.
