Funnily enough they always modeled themselves on the United support of the MIB era
-
Agree. People are focusing to much on songs. Some of the best Saints atmospheres have the least singing. Just a roar.
-
Take out it is a Soul classic with more words than four It has been changed to be a Southampton song and if you listen to the words it really reflects bring a mush. But that's just one song - what other Saints songs do you want to hear? and why is it that people will not even sing OWTS?
-
The dock of the bay thing is a distraction from the real issue. I know some of those that sing it and at the Sheffield United game in the second half they went back to Saints Support 101 with just yellows, OWTS etc Still no one joined in and it was the same on Saturday. Why is it a lot of support are not willing to sing OWTS, chant Southampton/COYR when we have a corner or roar the team on?
-
We will be waiting a long time then
-
Agree about the Pompey songs. Our support must be really crap if its being drowned out by four blokes singing Dock of the Bay Out of interest what songs would you like to hear being sung as I am sure those fellas would take requests

The crapness of our away support vocally has been a big discussion on that Twitter since Saturday. For once a few of our lot have got off their arses and are trying to do something. A twitter account has been set up by fans to assist in getting the core of the louder supporters together at away games. It's not been set up to alienate people, or for the creation of a Ultra style group with tin foil and a spotty 'Capo' called Nigel. Its just there to try and improve the atmosphere and give people a choice. It will advertise the 'singing' block(s) on or before ticket release. Follow @saintsawaybloc1 This is a last resort but anyone at the game on Saturday will know something needs to be done.

Think you might be right there, saw the other day that those committee dins revealed who they are

We have four weeks to get this chant going starting tomorrow against United. The tune is Si Señor In 84 The scummers went ****ing mental when Moran scored. Came in from the Warren’s and Wagon to the east. Left with a win & enough change to last the week. (And loop)
-
It was hot, Saints not great in the first half but improved in the second half and should have scored more, nice to get another win away from home and into the next round of the cup. Really felt for Redmond that injury did not look good from where I was standing. Our away support was 100% better than the horrorshow that was Burnley away. Nice to hear more songs being sung and people having a laugh. My god it was hot "I left my 'ome in 'ampshire..."

Before we adopt another ****ing song sung by every club for Kevin Danso's chant how about trying this (to the opening guitar riff from Disco 2000 by Pulp) It's easy & a bit different, Danso, Oh, Oh, Kevin Danso. (repeat till bored)

Pretty much it - add in a question about the pies being cold from Dave, who lives in Totton and has been supporting Saints since he was a nipper and everything is covered.

Back in Southampton - Gutta Percha & The Balladeers Even mentions Ted Bates and the 76 Cup Win
-
Would like it if the club could steal a song from a Southampton based band for entry music, dont know of a song that would suffice though. Back in Southampton - Gutta Percha & The Balladeers Even mentions Ted Bates and the 76 Cup Win

I still kiss a picture of Dave Merrington every January. "Score a goal, Neil Shipperley..."

And we still celebrate Fratton in 84. Its not tinpot its football rivialy. I would have thought the seals in the Northam who sing about hating pompey in every song would relish the opportunity to play them and express thier hatred in person.
-
Rubbish. This is the only game that matters to us as Saints fans.
-
What about taking Fratton? We also have nippers who are unsure where Goldsmith Avenue is and loons who think the JPT is the only trophy we have won.
-
Agree mush. No one intrested in that should burn thier Saints shirt and get a divorce in my opinion
