  1. We all laughed at Nottm Forest, everyone laughed at Nottm Forest at the start of the season. They spent heavily, bought in guys with decent experience and kept faith in their manager. They’ve got fight, they’ve got cohesion, everything we haven’t, on the pitch and off the pitch, owners prepared to splash the cash on £35/£40m players to STAY in the EPL and they are well on their way to achieving their aim. I wish we were as ambitious to keep our EPL status.
  2. At least Ralph had passion with the same group of guys. We’d have had far more points at this stage sticking with Ralph. I mean, whatever clown thought Nathan Jones was our best option v Ralph, is f*****g clueless - What an awful appointment, too late to rectify it now, we’ve fired through our winnable games and going to get zero from them and a pumping from Everton at Goodison on the horizon too, absolutely no way they’ll sack Nathan and admit their mistake but by god, they need to and open their cheque book before that Goodison game, both I expect we will not do as we are cheap. This was the game we had to win and we won’t be winning it on the 1st half performance. Safe to say we’ll be playing Championship football with the gap that’s growing between us and 17th now sitting at 4pts and if we don’t win tonight and pick up points vs. Everton we certainly won’t within our run of games against the Top 6 between March and April. Lose tonight = Relegated. Congratulations, SR, their £70m worth of “wonderkids” and Nathan Jones, might be able to sell them all on for half price when we go down.
  3. Goodbye Premier League. Nathan Jones, you uninspiring, confidence-draining arsehole. Beggars belief what he tells the dressing room when he’s telling the press that we are a mess and he isn’t a miracle-worker. What a f****g appointment.
  4. Love a good new manager bounce during a run of winnable games. Glad we appointed an experienced head and got everyone inspired and fighting for the badge 😒 We’ve really got no hope, the cherry on the top of this stale cake will be if we get anything less than 3 points from Nottm Forest.
  5. Expect nothing more than Wolves to end up snatching this game and putting daylight between them and us 😒
  6. That’s a team with potential to stay up - I’ll have that optimism batted out of me as soon as the 2pm line-up hits and it’s nowhere near the above and I’ll be resigned to a 3-0 walloping.
  7. Oh, how I miss Fraser Forster. Why we let him go to sit on a bench elsewhere rather than be our number one, well, looks like it’s going to be a contributing factor in our demise and seemingly incoming relegation with this garbage between the sticks. One of our run of winnable games, at home, already looking like zero points.
  8. This is Southampton. We all know that we need reinforcements in the attacking department desperately. I’m not holding my breath that we’ll have anyone through the door within the first couple of days like we SHOULD and NEED to have incoming, it’s suicide if it doesn’t happen. If we don’t act fast, we might not be cut adrift now, but we will be after our run of winnable games during this festive period and early January if we aren’t scoring goals.
  9. I missed you Southampton. I didn’t miss this s***e, what they been doing over the break, oh, getting humped in behind-closed-door friendlies - turns out they were a realistic representation of our current level. Jones better be a miracle worker with plenty of Premiership experience and top-level contacts to get us some much needed decent Premier League experience to get us out of this mess we’re in.. Oh. 0-1 down already, that’s enough for me, jesus wept 🤣🤦🏼‍♂️
  10. Deserved since they should have played Bella-Kotchap the beast! 😉 Hahaha!
  11. The two teams above us being West Ham and Everton - they’re both (with the possible exception of Everton) are going to get more points than we are this season I’d reckon. The teams we need to be catching are Leeds, Fulham, Bournemouth, Brentford, Aston Villa and there is clear daylight between us and all them now, purely because most of them have taken 3 points from the bigger teams lately or they could still have been close. Just need Nottm Forest and Wolves to win their matches and it’d be the worst day for us imaginable.
  12. Suppose you could say it is now, unless we’re going to score 3+ Bournemouth, Leeds & Leicester winning ffs, couldn’t be much worse for us right now all these results. I hope we can get a point, I’d take just a point, please!
  13. It was an exciting seven minutes, that’ll be that then.
  14. F**k it, If Leeds can do it, why can’t we grind out a point with a defensive showing to start Jones’ tenure? It would certainly change my underwhelming opinion of him, giving me some glimmer of light for the season restart. With the prospect of facing a two month break sitting in the relegation zone, would help if Wolves and Nottm Forest get gubbed staying below us and Bournemouth and Leicester follow suit with nothing to keep them all close.
  15. If that’s true, I don’t know where the source is that this happened - but if it’s true and he’s that incompetent, why are SR just as incompetent as to still employ the liability, he’s clearly awful at his job if he messed up to that degree. if I was in a job, entrusted to tie up a deal that could secure the future of the business at the highest level (A striker or two to score the goals we need to stay in the lucrative EPL) and I f****d up that bad that the deal collapsed and put the business in jeopardy of losing its value (relegation, perhaps) why is he still here, SR have no backbone to remove him? Happy to lose tens of millions of their investment? Piss poor all round.
  16. Absolutely disgusting, £4m for an unknown entity, cannot believe they haven’t gone for an experienced manager in this situation we find ourselves in at the cheap price of £4m! - bringing in a expensive gamble when we need a bounce, a guy who has been in this fight before, a guy with a reputation, a manager who will attract a calibre of striker we need to get us out of this mess. If folk done their job in the summer and Ralph had been given a goal scoring striker or even two target men, we’d no have been in this mess having no been able to find the net to win a match. £4-f*****g-million - there’s your excuse for no money for a decent striker in January + Ralph’s pay-off. **On the note of a striker, how the hell does it take a day or two to get a manager in place, but takes a year and more to buy a striker who can find the net in the EPL. If by some miracle SR do splash the cash for a striker this January (they’ll have their pants pulled down for that anaw in the January sales) you’re damn certain they’ll no have them coming in 1st/2nd Jan when we need them desperately, they’ll sign on or the day before deadline day 24 games into the season when we’re seven points adrift of the pack, it’s the Southampton way. It looks bleak and I’m completely dejected by this appointment, it feels like we are gambling with our EPL status and when we only have Liverpool (A) before the break it’s going to be a dour Xmas sitting in the relegation zone. The latter festive period/January games when we have Brighton (H), Fulham (A), Nottm Forest (H), Villa (H), Brentford (A) and Wolves (H) is going to make or break us, he might have to perform miracles as Ralph seemed to muster when he needed to find points, ground them out and possibly without any new striker too, unless we have someone in the door 1st Jan, we are going to struggle for goals to beat the teams that we need to beat around us, are we ever that pro-active, or just with a manager in Jones’ case? 🙄 I just hope it works out, I feel this could be the season that we’ll be stuck back in the Championship for years without a Liebherr-style investment to get us out of it after SR inevitably sell all our young stars we’ve tried to invest in.
  17. 2-0 down to Stoke after 14mins. He sounds like he suitably fits the bill, can’t wait to see it at Saints - where does he sign?
  18. Yeah, they agreed to it and made it public. if they hadn’t made it public knowledge, do you reckon he’d be 1/33 favourite with the bookies to join us and all the press, radio shows and us on here talking as if he’s signed on the dotted line already? I said, as context, Nuno Espírito Santo was hot favourite, 1/20 with the bookies to take back over at Wolves a month or two ago, but either him or the club decided against the move and that didn’t materialise. I’m suggesting, he’s only deemed as the hot favourite, because nobody else has been mentioned by the press as a contender or come out publicly, as Luton Town did with Jones, as interested to take charge. Wouldn’t make sense that nobody else of any pedigree is interested in managing a club currently in the EPL. That said, unless he’s been our “lined-up” manager to take over from Ralph for an age, like a manager-style “black box.”
  19. I’m sure, unless I am mistaken, that nobody at Southampton FC have came out publicly and stated that Jones is the definitive man they want. Luton Town made it public by stating that they’ve agreed to let them speak to Jones. Again, I stand to be corrected. It’s obviously why his name is all over the press and being talked about on here and on the sports shows and stupidly short with the bookies, because he’s the only guy that we are supposedly interested in. I remember Nuno being stupid favourite with the bookies for the Wolves job earlier this season until he or they didn’t want to make the move after all. I should think that there must be more candidates that have not been made public knowledge, unless he is 100% our guy without holding talks, which would be a strange way to do business.
  20. We haven’t got time to give him a chance, he’s got to get results instantly, he’s got to inspire and put dynamite up the arse of every one of our guys - are our players going to be inspired by this unknown, did well at Luton but fucked up with Stoke, kind of guy? We needed someone like Dyche, you can see the passion he has on the sideline, he’s the sort of guy that could “hairdryer” the players properly and get them moving - I reckon he’d have some decent contacts to get us a good one or two target men that we desperately need up top to get us the goals to stay up, yet we’ll end up with this dude bringing in Carlton Morris to lead our line and be worse than the two championship guys that we already bought. Probably get shot down for having settled for a guy like Dyche, but I’d have had him in a heartbeat over this guy, I’d have not been feeling as underwhelmed and despondent about our impending relegation, as it feels now, as I do.
  21. Come back Ralph, all is forgiven ffs. Couldn’t be any more underwhelmed with an appointment such as this Jones from Luton. Villa go with Unai Emery, a guy with European and big club pedigree and he’s already got them motivated enough to demolish Man Utd in his first game. But we’ll delve into the cheap Championship option again and hope we get 17th whilst he recruits his Luton pals in the winter window ffs, bringing in Carlton Morris to shore up or striking options, along with Che and A.Armstrong who have lit the premier league alight with their 25 goal seasons since joining.
  22. I’d have rather have kept Ralph if we’re getting this Jones fella. Makes me feel even worse about our predicament if we’re delving yet again into the cheap depths of the lower leagues - that’s worked out well these last few years on strikers 😒
  23. Is that Perraud doing the BBC interview and no Ralph interview seems to have been posted? ..yet?
  24. True. I’d just have felt a lot better for the next month and a bit if we were a few points clear of the zone instead. Theres still a chance for something tomorrow, but I’m going into games right now expecting a defeat - a few years back I used to think we could beat anyone 😒
  25. That’s us in the relegation zone for the World Cup, great 😒
