  1. Trying to be optimistic about this transfer window and the upcoming Summer. The more we’ve been accumulating the wins this month and pushing away from 18th, the more I’ve been content on not disrupting the side and spending needless money in January when prices are stupid. (I’m hoping that’s the sort of thinking Ralph and the board have agreed on lately, but maybe I’m just trying to be too positive for a Saints Web poster) We’ve got a long list of players that need shifting this summer again, but, being optimistic, it looks like this could be the window that we free up some much needed wage budget what with; Yoshida not getting a game Cedric gone Long questionable to stay for another year Adams no doubt wanting a move by then for game-time Ely looking like a bargain for Celtic Forster seems happy up at Celtic too Boufal drumming up some interest and not getting much game time here Vestergaard not really cutting it and interest back in Germany Hoedt & Carrillo, god knows, hopefully some sucker might give us a couple of £m I know that’s a long list, but I’m confident we could get rid of a good six on there. Question is, is Ralph going to be backed with some extra cash on top of the sales, or just a piddly £15m/£20m to play with from those moving on, which in terms of teams around us and what they NEED to spend in this league to keep competitive, is such a farse. I hope we see a good window, making a good £15-£20m in sales and Ralph given £30-£50m to improve the squad, everyone else seems to have no problem splashing a little cash, hopefully we’ll see a little well placed expenditure this year.
  2. Well, I’m deflated. Shouldn’t be at home, 2-0 up and ending the game with zero points. We’ve played well the last month, but to lose from that position at HT is poor.
  3. All set up for a Che Adams winner? Wouldn’t that be nice!
  4. Ah dear, I’m gutted, but I knew this day would eventually come. If we take nothing from this game now I’ll be devastated.
  5. Pinching myself. Where have these performances come from?! If you’d gone into a coma at the end of November, languishing in 19th place with 8pts, around 5 points from safety and woke up mid-January a handful of points off 5th with 31pts, you’d have think you’d died and gone to heaven lol.
  6. What happened to this?
  7. I do agree. I was expecting us to have a quiet January after seeing us almost break into the Top 10. As long as we do the correct business in the summer moving on those that need to leave the club or have been languishing away at other clubs on loan and the money given to Ralph to invest in the right areas. The above is all good, bearing in mind that we still have enough to survive the drop this year.
  8. No, we still don't like him. I want someone who attends regularly and actually shows some enthusiasm and interest in football. He's got none of that. I wonder if he could actually name his own players. I'd be inclined to say he wouldn't have a clue about a vast majority of our squad.
  9. Are we surprised? 16 days in of silence, been on a good run and we've decided not to bring in anyone. Let's hope a few injuries don't bite us in the arse.
  10. Not as influential as Traore, but Vinagre pulled up with a hamstring problem towards the end of that game also. Hopefully means a lot of tired legs will have to play again come the weekend.
  11. After the Chelsea game highlights, MOTD ended up discussing Abraham leading the line for England in Kane’s absence. The only other two mentioned were Rashford and bringing Vardy out of retirement. Unbelievable after scoring 10 in 10.
  12. Unbelievable. Well done Ralph and the boys!
  13. Surely it doesn’t matter how fast the ball is travelling? The bottom line is, your hand shouldn’t be waving about your head, full stop? I like VAR, it’s the guy making the decision behind the screen that’s the problem with consistency.
  14. I don’t want to be a pessimist, but I’d be happy with a point from here after 90mins. If we have a second half, as good as our first, no reason why we can’t have all 3.
  15. Well, I didn’t think of that. If it isn’t accurate enough then it shouldn’t be used to make those accurate decisions until it can be proved it is. I’d personally want the correct decisions made in matches, wether it’s marginal or not.
  16. That’s what made me come to this thread, had a read of that article a moment ago and we’ve been heavily helped, but totally screwed without it and let’s face it, we’ve had our unfair share of crap decisions against us these last few years, so VAR had been a welcome addition. But, when we talk about marginal offsides being negated, what is marginal? Like I said above, more of a sham to see a goal allowed that the linesman hasn’t put his flag up for, video shows that attacker was offside by an inch or so but allowed to stand. Is an inch marginal? I think far more of us would be raging about the video proving that the goal was offside but it wasn’t “clear or obvious” enough to the naked eye, I mean, what’s the point in having any technology at all if we don’t use it to make the correct decisions, we could be sitting a good ten points further down the table without it this year, below Norwich and theoretically gone.
  17. I don’t understand why people want rid of the system when it gives the correct decisions? Now they’re talking about changing it in February to only reviewing “clear and obvious” My question is, when does an offside mistake become clear and obvious? And who makes the decision to review a “clear and obvious” offside? In the NFL for example, all scoring plays are reviewed. So, using that as an example, if all scoring plays were reviewed in the EPL and the attacker was viewed to be an inch offside, is that clear and obvious enough to recind the goal or is an inch not obvious or clear enough? Are goals going to be allowed to stand, even though the Video Referee finds the attacker to be offside, but in his view it wasn’t clear and obvious in real time? That’s more of a sham in my eyes.
  18. Cannot argue with that.
  19. I know we are pushing and look more likely to nick a winner for all three. But, I'd rather get out of here with a point other than zero.
  20. Ah man, gutting. Would like us to wipe the smugness off of Clinton Morrison’s face by the end of the second half.
  21. Love VAR. Love it. Hahaha.
  22. Damn, I hope that’s not an expensive miss!
  23. Unbelievable the amount of times the commentators are jizzing over Chelsea.

    Christmas

    You’re joking right? It’s Christmas.
  25. Delighted with the three points! Big relief than the opposite and being three points and goal difference adrift! Aston Villa, the team who threw £150m at their team in the summer and look what you get.. Unbelievably, their fans talking about how their club need to prioritise the January transfer window and get more players! How much money does everyone have in comparison to us?!
