  1. No resiliance. Red card of Danso or Valery in the past - OK, they are 20 years old. But Bertrand? When you have the high purpose to show a good game and defeat Leicester and then you get a red card plus the first goal, you are shocked and knocked out for a while. But if there is absolute no resiliance in the defense you will get 9 goals. Wrong coaching? Disharmony in the team? Disturbing factors around the squad?
  2. Each team playing Ralph's style has one or two man who can do the long pass from defense to the attackers. It is almost a shot, very accurate (hopefully) and surprises the other team. I am sure Hasenhüttl get this drilled. The success depends upon what the attackers are doing afterward - pass back or go for a goal.
  3. Whatever people here think of Vest, he is the one who can make a 40m vertical pass to the attackers and so accelerate the game; at least against Wolverhampton he did so.
  4. Correktion: the game England vs. Austria U 21 is tomorrow!
  5. Agree. But Danso should play on the right, maybe instead of Bednarek. We can see Danso today in the U21 England vs. Austria

    CB Situation

As stated already, all Chelsea goals happened on Benarek's side. Give Danso more opportunities an he will stabilize this side. His time will come.
  7. I read how appreciated Bednarek is in this forum. But all goals from Chelsea happened on his side.
  8. I have seen serveral games with RH as a coach in the German Bundesliga over the last years. His first credo was always that his teams run, run, run; against the ball, with the ball, without the ball. Close to the man. It was not always beautiful, but effective and forceful. Not giving up, strong defense. It was difficult to make goals against his teams. And most of his teams were medium in quality, except Leipzig. I couldn't see this in the last games, especially yesterday. What is going on? But I know RH is hungry for success, he wont give up, let's see.
  9. I saw the goals serveral times - desastrous defensive "work". Every Ch. player could choose beween 3-4 free fellow players. Absolutely no marking. So you loose against every team. If Valery got a break because of some wrong decisions in the past - what's about Redmond? His decision is to often wrong: me against the whole defense. Instead of accelerating the game, Valery and Bertrand, when throwing in, wait till the other defenders are organized. Their throw-in takes half a minute.
  10. 1 -0, Ings makes the goal pressing against the goalie ...
  11. I like Ings. He is so focussed and alert. We need more on that level.
  12. Correction: So many shots beyond the goal. A famous manager once said, it is OK to shoot left or right, but not over the bar. Because in this case the player shows he is anxious/coward at that moment and bends back his body ...

  14. Friday 1 - 0 or 2 - 0.
  15. Providing that RH keeps Vestergaard out and puts Bertrand in ...
  16. A few weeks ago I had the sudden idea that RH could try Djenepo instead of Bertrand and posted it in the Forum. A Full Member replied "Are you on Klebstoff?" Impolite indeed, but I am only continental :-). RH put Djenepo as a defender last game one half ... (but it definitely didn't work as we know)
  17. Re Red Card: i saw parts of a Sheffield game a few weeks ago on TV, maybe against Chelsea. The commenting expert repeatedly said that some Sh. players play so brutally that future referees should take care of this brutality of some. I was really worried about getting injuries on Saturday. But Sheffield played correct, more or less, at least compared to the match I saw. Maybe the referee was a bit more sensitiv when giving the red card, as educational means.
  18. Re Betrand: Either he was injured then it is in the normal time frame to bring him back. Takes time. Or: B. disagreed with the style RH wants to play and RH wants to bring him first in a shape, physically and mentally, so that he can be an asset to the team and to his system. In this case RH will bring him again only when he knows B. is fully loyal to his style of play.
  19. Sims to a RB team in US has also the intention to make him aquainted during that time to the style Hasenhüttl is playing. Because all RB teams use a somehow similar system to Southampton under RH.
  20. 2-0 on Saturday! Danso helps to keep a clean sheet and Ings makes one goal out of 1 to 1 against ManUs goalie ...
  21. "4-4-2 Hoj played at LB all game" was written by "doddisalegend". Yeah seems I am wrong
  22. Result quite ok! Danso again full-back. Seems RH wants to make Danso more familiar with British football before he uses him as a CB.
  23. Thank you. No problem in correcting me. As Englishmen back in 1890 or so introduced Football to Austia we still use in Austria their words/terms like: goal, referee, corner, out, penalty, cup, hands, match etc. I was not familiar with "box", "pitch", "CB" etc. but I am improving. I like the performances of Hasenhüttl's teams since years, they are almost always entertaining. I even bought a SKY-package to watch Southampton's games 2019/2020.
  24. Thank you .-) In German a "shot" is always the effort to score a goal by foot, a "pass" is always between two players, 1 or 100 yards away ...
