I am really happy with the result and the performance i saw! And no injuries obviously on our part.
-
If we perform at the same level as the last few games, we automatically should get one or three points. Only if some major changes are introduced in our game (red card, illness of one of our full backs or CBs, totally biased referee ..) we could be defeated.
-
Considering and summing up the last 8 rounds, Leicester is behind us in ranking; we made 16 points, Leicester 16 as well. But we got less goals.
-
Great answer!

Let's see :-)

OK, maybe I was not quite clear with my statements. Generally I think - PROVIDING we can continue with our performances - that every team will have a hard time trying to defeat us. This will also apply to Leicester, and they are not on the level of Liverpool.
-
You are right, Leicester is a top team, no doubt. What I mean is that right now they will have a hard time playing against us; taking into account our preformances against top teams recently. Even if Leicester has a good day it will be difficult to defeat us.
-
Yes. But we did not loose 0-4 as far as I remember against Liverpool. Southampton performance is now different than the 0-9. Leicester has problems with our pressing, you will see. I bet 50% draw or 50% win in Leicester. What do you think?
-
Not against Liverpool.

I think RH figured it out be himself. Out of necessity. He stated in recent times frequently that he had wanted to make step two before step one was fully done. So he returned to implement step one again (pressing, defending from attackers onwards etc.) to keep it on a continual basis. Only when this step 1 is really really part of the team, mentally and physically, they will start to (hopefully carefully) implement more sophisticated tactics - if ever necessary. By the way - I believe that only Liverpool and MC are stronger than we are in the moment (and they nevertheless will have a hard time trying to defeat us). Leicester, having seen them angainst Liverpool, are not stronger than we are. I expect on or threee points from that match. Everton can be an issue - their coach is very good.

Ings' goal was the perfect result of high pressing. Ings always tries to antizipate. The whole sequence before the goal showed that the defense was permanently under pressure. An if you are not a word-class team, somewhere on the line you make a mistake - and Ings antizipated this.

I wouldn't be surprised if RH plays with the same team as against Aston Villa, becauser: RH is known for his tough training sessions, more intensive than a game; instead of 2 training sessions they play a full game. So no big difference. Of course taking into account injuries and physical situations.
-
I was not sure if RH could change their mental attitude after Leicester but obviously he did. Whatever the trick was. Or it was simply to work harder. Fact is, the basic attitudes are back again, harder than before. I wonder who will be part of the team on Saturday!

Yes, that's the idea behind our style.
-
No - Chelsea didn't have an awful day. We made them look awful. An away win against a top 4 team boosts morale!

Yeah, good analysis! -

Maybe, but I am sure, would we take one or three points from Chelsea this week, somebody will post that Chelsea was "awful" ... -

The same old story, sorry. When we win then "the other side was awful". No. We did not allow them to play better, that's all. When we play RH's style well and win, the other side will always look awful! -
I agree. But Valery has physical problems I think so it will be Cedric.
-
In summer RH was interested in their CB Upamecano, but he was too expensive, 50m or so..
-
... and vertical passes and no passes CB-CB-LB-CB-CB etc.
-
Probably ...

Watch today 7.30pm the German top game Dortmund against RB Leipzig and watch Leipzig. They play the style RH wants the Saints to play more or less. http://livetv.sx/dex/eventinfo/879981_dortmund_leipzig/

Saw an interview with RH. He stated that JWP began to make more right decisions. (In the past he also said that Valery made some wrong decisions so he put him on the bench). If the players continue to make more "right decisions", i.e. according to RH's style, than the next games will be quite entertaining .

I think, RH will foremost go with the men from whom he believes are not so much exhausted after those 2 games, but he won't change his basic strategy (hopefully) - pressing, fast counterattacks. A win would be great.
