Yeah Rice, Ndidi, Bissouma and JWP are probably the top mids in the league outside the big 6 (and are better than what united and spurs have, as well as Arsenal minus Partey)
-
I like the 4222 when we have Stu as our AM, I think some of our other attacking mids aren't so good at helping control possession.
-
I'd go for Ings, Pelle, Lambert, and JRod. When have I ever rated Carrillo? Adams is probably 5th and Broja 6th, but neither have had a double digit season yet so holding off on a spot in the top 4 till then.
-
Utter nonsense I spout? It's amazing you can say that given your views on Pompey and San Marino. Also, how was jwp who you don't rate? How was Ralphs set up? Notice we are ahead of Villa again. You are full of dreadful takes. You happen to get one right for once and can't stop banging on about it. Right by pure luck as well, as there is no way you watched Vitesse, you just selected him to back as is not a permanent saints player so you can big him up, but only as a means to put down the rest of our team, as here.
-
Immense game from him today. A midfield of Romeu behind JWP and Diallo in a 3 looked very very strong. Wonder if there is a call for a 352/433 going forward, expecially with Broja playing his best work without a strike partner neccessarily.
-
Why not use Broja performing well as an excuse to sarcastically put down Adams and Armstrong, why be positive? Not like either of them scored an excellent goal today too...
-
Was busy so just finished watching it on sky. Excellent game, well set up formation, superb goals by Broja and Adams. My man of the match is JWP, his corner set the stage and some of his tackles were incredible. Runners up both Diallo and Romeu who were both immense. Perraud good too. Probably our best performance as a team of the season.
-
True, from the listing it is probably a 343.
-
Could be a 4141 with Bednarek at RB or a 352 with Redmond/Tella at wingback, or a 4222 with a bednarek at rb and Diallo as one of the 10s. Or 343 with JWP as a wingback. Will have to wait and see.
-
Are you positive about this? They aren't going to just show the second half live? Or however far through it is
-
Apparently united have said he can't leave, so doubt it. Maybe in the summer though
-
Really? I have never seen that statistic, I don't suppose you have a link as would be interested. Post shot expected goals data tells us if we had Johnstone last season instead of McCarthy we would have conceded about 12 fewer goals. That is the same amount of goals as our top scorer got. It isn't always that stark as goalkeepers are rarely as bad as McCarthy was that season but it certainly feels impactful. You are definitely right about goalkeepers tending to earn the least on average though, stats available here: https://www.statista.com/statistics/1095596/average-epl-salary-by-age-and-position/, so you are probably on to something. In general, the most valuable role is where you are weakest imo, it's why Digne is such a good signing for Villa even though it would likely make their leading earner a fullback which is again a role that doesn't tend to demand high wages and fees.
-
Probably yeah. I imagine the same will be true of when the new owner came in. More money at the club and players will want their share.
-
Wouldn't be that high. JWP is on £100k and Ings was offered the same. If we offered him £120k I think they could see the advantage if it ment not having a liability in goal
-
Yeah, would be a very good signing for them. I think he will probably go to Spurs though as Lloris is winding down.
-
Would be one hell of a statement signing. Never going to happen but we can dream.
-
I have to be honest, I think Neco Williams is dreadful. We already have three right backs, I'd rather we just make do until Tino is fit again even if it means playing Stephens or Bednarek at RB. Neco would be a dreadful signing, especially since Liverpool sell really well so he'd be like £10m probably.
-
Certainly feels it. Driving the Rangers wages up.
-
Hope you get well soon

This was my thinking too: BLM = pro-black people Knife crime = the fault of black people Therefore being pro BLM and anti knife crime is internally inconsistent. Maybe I'm being unfair with that reading but it certainly came across as pretty racist on the face of it and lack of discussion of it isn't helping.
-
Has your man Eddie impressed you too? Doing another bloody good job getting relegated.
-
I'm not saying Coutinho won't be a good signing, he is cheap and could improve, I actually called it very shrew business in this thread before. He has, however, been universally criticised everywhere he has been since Liverpool and has been super super poor. Therefore comparing him to Rice and Tielemans is very stupid, as you'd expect from someone who rates Pompey over us
-
KWP is a better LB than Targett, Tino is a better RB than cash, both start. Ings is crocked. Coutinho had 23 starts at bayern and his next move was villa, what does that tell you?
-
They aren't building sustainably admittedly, but short term Digne is an excellent buy. Third most chances created from defence last season and the season before, only bested by Trent and Robertson IIRC. His crossing will suffer from the fact Watkins isn't half the player DCL is in the air (or generally) but Digne is still a brilliant player.
-
Yeah I mean, their three midfielders wouldn't start for most teams in the league and neither would Mings. Buendia and Watkins are way below Bowen and Antonio, DCL and Richarlison, Vardy and Maddison, Jimenez and Neto. They still have a pretty mid table team but Digne is class, so it is definitely a step in the right direction as Targett is dogshite.
