Certainly bold. Strong bench though so hopefully we use subs well when players are exhausted

Forster is considerably better at 1v1s, no doubt. He is considerably worse than McCarthy at claiming crosses, long shots (especially low ones), and commanding his area. He is better at sweeping too though. They both have strengths and combined they'd make a decentish keeper (not great still), but they also both have glaring weaknesses. I don't think there is much between them personally. All opinions though.

I dunno, the middle fitness for the league. Not especially fit, not especially unfit. In our team, KWP maybe? Misses a few games, needs a rest occassionally but is pretty reliable. It doesn't really matter specifically, just not comparing them to the absolute best of the best and then being disappointed when they don't measure up.
-
Average premier league player standards. Playing two games with only 2 days gap between them will, in general, cause a player to play worse. That's true of almost all players, not JWP as he is ridiculous. It's not fair to say "why don't all our players have the same fitness levels as JWP" for the same reason it's unfair to say "why don't all our players score goals like Haaland" or "why don't all our players take free kicks like JWP". We shouldn't let having one of the best players at a given thing give us unreasonable expectations. Rotation will be needed imo.

Jwp is a machine. One of the fittest and most reliable players in the premier league if not Europe. Cant judge everyone by his standards

I think the players wishes will have some sway, or atleast I hope, and he is doing well here. I also don't know what our spending power is with new owners. Wouldn't rule out a £30m+ bid. Smaller teams than us like Sheffield united and Watford have spent such money.
-
We are riding high but I think this will be tougher than some think. We have played a lot of minutes in a short period of time. Would be nice to see basically the same team (with Tino imo) but I think a bit of rotation will be needed, a lot of effort was expended against spurs.
-
Finishing was uncharacteristicly off. One lovely goal but had 3 other chances where he probably should have done better (or put it on a plate for Adams in one case). Either way, gets in good positions and is scoring well. Hope we can retain him in the summer.
-
I think that is offset by the fact both Tino and KWP are significantly better at ball progression. KWP even from the left has great passing and dribbling stats. Tino is also a monster in this area. Perraud is a great crosser and good defensively, but I think I still prefer Tino KWP atm. All three are superb players though. Great problem to have.
-
I'd offer one of him or Redmond a new contract. Haven't decided which yet. I think we need a new starting AM to play next to Armstrong and then Tella and one of the aforementioned two as back up.
-
Don't agree about the fullbacks to be honest, I think Tino and Kwp is an equally good pairing that has done us equally well. I think Stu is essential but he has been injured and not match fit most of the season. FF has had a good game or two but so did Macca at the start of the season. They are both still mediocre keepers and I'm still not convinced there is much between them tbh.

Meal was made of Coventry but in the end, given we are through in the cup and we beat spurs, you'd have to say the team selections across those games did the job. Also, the 4222 performed well today.
-
Seems like they don't, from what they've said post take over
-
It will be a sad day, but I'd retire at 57 if I had the chance so don't blame him. Given he has informed the club of this in advance we should have plenty of time to scout the ideal replacement.
-
I think he played 90 mins. Was subbed off for Romeu before extra time iirc. I think our best team is: Forster Tino Bednarek Salisu KWP Romeu JWP Stu Redmond Adams Broja As it stands. I can see the argument for Perraud + KWP but I think Tino is definitely better than Perraud and KWP doesn't see that much of a drop away at LB. He has excellent stats for ball progression on the left.
-
Should be enough to beat them but if it isn't we have some talent on the bench. With three games in seven days we need to rotate.
-
Not really. We make £33m from selling Tino if Chelsea want him back whereas with a loan we'd make nothing and may even have to pay a loan fee. That is a huge sum of money to reinvest.

Leach is HampshireLive, not the echo I think. Echo has great exclusives but has little issue reposting bullshit, albeit citing the original article and making it clear it isn't coming from them.

Hope all is well with you and thanks for all the work you've put into this this season. -
I'd like to see us spend on a Romeu replacement. I really like the guy but he is going to drop away in the coming years and bedding someone in before we need them tends to yield better results, like Salisu. Shame we didn't get Sangare as he has apparently been immense this season. I also think we need to see the back of two to three attacking midfielders. As it stands we have 7 options in Stu, Redmond, Tella, Djenepo, Walcott, Elyounoussi, and Smallbone. I would like to see us bring in a starting quality option so that would bring us to 8 when we really need maximum of 5-6. Ideal world we see the back of Walcott and Djenepo but might also be a good time to sell Redmond while his stock is slightly higher from a better season by his standards. Also will need to assess what is going on with Stus injury as if it is going to stop him starting regularly going forward maybe worth selling while he has value too. Obvious first priority is GK but that goes without saying.
-
I didn't argue he doesn't play a wider array of styles now. I said he didn't have the option to do so back then due to lack of squad depth and quality and now he does. It is less to do with him and more to do with the means at his disposal. If you read the entire post you are quoting I'd say that is reasonably clear. Again though, I haven't read the article, does he comment on that?
