1 - Che is our top scorer, there is no way teams are deliberately letting him through to double up on Broja. I agree defenders have figured him out and don't get touch tight so much anymore to avoid being ran at, problem is that is super effective as running at players is one of his only strengths and he is well below par at most else 2 - Yeah, he's young, but what is a dip at this point and what was just a hot streak near the start? Also, he is a loan player, why the hell are we playing a player who is clearly well below the desired standard? I don't care if he's young, developing him nets us sweet fuck all. We are hamstringing ourselves by having this player in our side. Armstrong has also been poor and if we went into next season with him starting I'd be just as concerned if not more so, but they aren't the two only options. If we truly have £25m-£30m to play with we have to aim higher than Broja.
-
Ches runs and ability to find space meant he could receive those passes. Do you think it's a coincidence that Che always seems to get sitters and Broja gets fuck all despite them playing in the same side? Ches misses annoy me too, but how many sitters has Broja actually put away in the last couple of months? And why is that?
-
Define personally upset me. I like when saints win and our basically omnipresent center forward has scored 2 league goals in 4 months, so I'm not stoked about that. Yeah there are other areas who did poorly, but Broja has done so poorly for so long and I'm honestly amazed how most people aren't seeing this.
-
One has a 29 goal season in the championship, one has 12 goals in the dutch league and 6 in the prem. I mean, neither is a world beater careerwise. Ralph clearly rates Broja higher but right now I can't see why. I'd rather see Redmond or Tella up top right now.
-
Ralph out is an incredibly poor take and he is performing well well over our spend HOWEVER very poor management right now. Sticking with a winning team doesn't make sense when the two challenges are so different. Also Broja has been dogshite for ages and is a loan player, what do we possibly get from playing him right now?! Play Armstrong, play Tella, play Shane Long for all I care. On top of this, poor set piece defending, the scheme clearly wasn't right. Poor management of the midfield. Ralph is still comfortably our best option but this result was as much on him as any player and should be criticised.
-
And Broja is?
-
It's not. But he shouldn't be selected anyway, because he's been shite for months. He's been so shite that his defenders are pivoting to "he's not shite, he's playing badly deliberately because he knows he's too good for us, with his mighty 6 league goals"
-
Better to have chances than not. Broja never gets a sniff.
-
He's definitely trying, he's just been crap.
-
Then how come Che came on and immediately had two sights of goal, after Broja was invisible all game? Maybe he's shite?
-
That's bullshit, he put out a statement saying he doesn't have a Facebook through an official source.
-
No he played in a front two, like Broja has in the majority of his games for the last 4 months.
-
If he, a guy who has scored 6 goals and 2 since boxing day, thinks he's too good for us and is wanting to move he is about to have a rude awakening. His output per game is worse than Obafemi and he ended up in the championship.
-
Che didn't score much as he was benched for the vast majority. Broja plays every game. Also Che got a bunch of chances and just didn't put them away, I think I can remember about 3 good chances Broja has had in the last month.
-
Yeah, a good 10 is important. Probably more so than a keeper. But 6 goals from our CF isn't enough, that's relegation form. Likewise our cbs are appalling right now.
-
You'd spend £30m on a striker with 2 league goals since boxing day, 0 assists, and 6 goals all season? Christ. Seriously?
-
You happy with him then mate? You wanna roll into next season with a 6 goal forward who has scored 2 league goals in almost 4 months?
-
Mate you didn't need to post anything about Broja to make me complain. He was absolutely anonymous again. Surely even his most ardent supporters have to think this guy isn't worth it. 6 goals this season, might add one or two more. 2 in the league since boxing day. No thanks.
-
We need investment at the business ends of the pitch. Cbs are struggling and strikers don't score. All very well having good fullbacks and center mids but if we don't have quality in the most important positions we will struggle. Bednarek out, Broja returned, new CB and new CF. A good 10 would be nice too.
-
Well, we are above them...
-
Still happy with Broja?
-
Better to miss two sitters than to not have any chances, the fact he gets in these position is why he is our top scorer. Did you even notice Broja on the pitch? Che is our only threat whatsoever.
-
Half this team is crap. Need a new CB, new attacking mids, new striker who isn't Broja.
-
It's someone who makes chances more than putting them away. Unfortunately Che is doing both jobs as our other forward has about 1 shot a game and spends the whole of it completely anonymous.
-
This might be a case of motivation over tactics. Our players clearly didn't give a fuck for weeks and when a couple of fringe players come in we seem a bunch more motivated and get a win. What sort of message would it send to then bench them? I don't think it's our strongest line up but there is definitely logic behind it.
