That's probably just as well.
-
You can state it as many times as you want, it's still the very definition of a silly argument, with no evidence, and that wouldn't hold water anyway.
-
None, he hasn't started much this season. Broja too would be none, for the record. Might be joint top for one or too.
-
I've always maintained I don't think you are very bright, to be fair.
-
Adams is our top scorer and would be the top scorer for like 7 other prem sides, to say he is "championship level" is demonstrably wrong. He just didn't perform against the best team in the world, it happens.
-
Sorry mate, I'm sure you had a long career as a professional footballer before taking your managerial badges making you innately more qualified to use a football forum than anyone else.
-
I think you think because you are thick and were once semi decent at football they are mutually exclusive. They are not, people can both understand and play the game. Understanding it doesn't mean you don't play it. A lot of younger football fans both play football and can discuss tactics/stats without frothing at the mouth.
-
Well thats fine, I don't live my life to impress you and I don't think whether I played low level football matters anyway (and it is low level unless one of you lot is secretly David James or something)
-
What you don't understand is some of these blokes played a bit of sunday league before they got fat/their knees went and they remember that they could just twat it at big Pete, the Goalkeeper/bus driver of the other team and it would normally go past him before his hungover brain could react. They don't understand why Armstrong can't just do the same against a prem quality player and anyone who disagrees clearly never themselves rolled off a bus to Totton and limped around a cold pitch for a game before heading off to the pub.
-
Well I do play, but it doesn't matter to my point which is free standing and should be judged on it's own merit.
-
You also run out of clever things to say?
-
It really isn't. You just say it because you can't actually come up with a counter point.
-
The other three made much bigger mistakes. Adams had a much easier 1v1 being centrally placed and, unlike Armstrong who hit the post and was inches away, was nowhere near scoring putting it straight at the keeper. Stephens passed it to the opposition in our box and Salisu gave away a pen when we were under 0 pressure. Adam Armstrong wasn't perfect but he didn't make any worse errors than most of the team and was a shit tonne more effective than Broja who came on to replace him and did absolutely nothing.
-
I mean, you can't. You just disagree with me and don't have any good arguments so you make stupid asumptions about me as a person.
-
Can't believe anyone in their right mind would watch that game and come away from it blaming Adam Armstrong, the striker who had good chances and hit the post, and not like seven of our other players first. Including all three other strikers who either missed bigger chances or weren't good enough to get chances in the first place.
-
No, not at all. It's meaningless and unprovable and could be said about anyone.
-
You don't think he was aiming for the corner? He obviously wanted a better connection with more power but he clearly ment to put it out of the keepers reach unlike Che who got a lovely connection straightat the keeper and Broja who didn't get a single chance at all and did absolutely fuck all.
-
I didnt say that one was a half chance, I said he hit the post and was unlucky
-
Do you play against prem quality keepers?
-
Broja very often doesn't stick them away though, we've seen that multiple times in his last 10 or so games. We just can't point to any of his chances though as he barely saw the opposition box. Yes he was plaing from 1 goal down but so were the other forwards for most of the first half and we looked a tonne more threatening.
-
Not this nonsense again
-
Hit it clean and it goes straight at the keeper, he directed it into the corner and was an inch or two from finding it.
-
Armstrong hit the post, was unlucky, Adams had a 1v1 and put it straight into the keeper. All Armstrongs other misses were half chances, nothing like the miss Adams had.
-
I'd far rather a striker actually get in positions and get shots away and get unlucky hitting the post than one who does sweet fuck all. And I'm not calling out either of them as City are the best team in the world so there is no shame in failing to score against them, plus the players to blame for the loss were not either of them.
-
Ofcourse, because he hasn't missed an absolute tonne chances in the last few months... I don't care if Armstrong "scuffed it" he guided it into the far post and it nearly worked. It was unlucky to have hit the post. Adams had a far worse miss and Broja didn't get a chance to miss because he was completely anonymous and didn't make runs anywhere near the quality Armstrong made when he was getting these chances. We were objectively much less dangerous going forward after Long and Armstrong came off and Che and Broja came on, surely you noticed that.
