Some stats: Gunn save percentage is 0.646 McCarthy save percentage is 0.639 So Gunn's is very marginally better. As for clean sheets: Gunn has 3 from 12 games a ratio of 0.25 clean sheets per game whereas McCarthy has 4 from 25 games a ratio of 0.16 clean sheets per game Here Gunn has a good edge but one could argue our defence has improved with the arrival of Bednarek and loss of Hoedt, something Gunn benefitted from over McCarthy. For me the most important numbers is age though, Gunn is 22 and will improve with maturity and time. McCarthy is 28 and, whilst still in his prime for a goalkeeper, is much less likely to improve. From this, along with watching both players, I think Gunn is the keeper we should continue to start in the future. One error doesn't change this too much for me to be honest, Allison made a similar error against leceister earlier in the season so it happens to the best of them.

Crazy that, redmond, jwp, romeu, Gunn all dropped yet still no youth getting a chance. Forster Valery Bednarek Stephens bertrand Armstrong lemina Hoj Elyounoussi Ings long Sent from my G3311 using Tapatalk

No one is saying that bookies are "NEVER wrong". We are saying that 150/1 odds are super long and it isn't worth worrying too much about something that has less than a 1% chance of happening. Obviously there will be times when things with long odds happen but that isn't the bookies being wrong, that's how statistics work. If things with 5000/1 odds happen more than 5000 times then it likely that the thing will happen atleast once. I don't even necessarily disagree with the wait till we are mathematically safe thought, I just don't like it when people consider things with long odds happening as the odds being "wrong", it's basic conformation bias.

The way the team is written that's a 4222. They generally report left to right back to front on the saints twitter

Here is what someone on the internet said which may clear this up: "No, a maximum of five teams from a particular league can play in the Champions League. English Premier League has four (4) Champions League quota. For instance, if the following circumstances occur, then five (5) teams will qualify for the Champions League:- League Table:- 1. Arsenal 2. Chelsea 3. Manchester Utd 4. Liverpool 5. Manchester City (Champions League Winner) 6. Tottenham (Europa League Winner) If this circumstance occur (which will be near impossible), Manchester City and Tottenham will qualify to the Champions League. However, according to UEFA regulations, no country can have more than five clubs participating in the Champions League. So, the top three, ie. Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester Utd will qualify for the Champions League, while Liverpool will play in the Europa League despite finishing fourth."

This is ours to win I think, we are in great form. I would love to see us persist with Sims as he was excellent today. My only change would be to drop Bednarek (who has had a couple of slightly weaker games, still been great though) and move to a four at the back. I think Newcastle will be pretty tough to break down therefore I would like to see an attacking formation. I'm thinking: Gunn Valery Yosh Vest Bertrand Romeu Hoj Jwp Sims Ings Redmond With Armstrong coming on for Sims if we need goals and Long and Bednarek on for Sims and Ings if we need to hold a lead
-
Are people preferring 3 or 4 at the back? If ings is fit I wouldn't mind seeing the 4222 we saw at Brighton again, except with vest in for yosh Sent from my G3311 using Tapatalk

So you're fine with terms like trannie and lady boy being used here as well as the assertion we should fight people for bringing a trans flag but not people actually standing up for transgender people. Sent from my G3311 using Tapatalk

A lot of unnecessary transphobia in this thread. I agree that away fans shouldn't be in the home end but I don't see how you can be annoyed about transgender rights being represented. Sent from my G3311 using Tapatalk

Long did a job at Liverpool before so I'm reasonably happy with this. Keep tight as possible, then bring Armstrong and Sims on to stretch them when they get tired.
-
Gunn; Valery, Yosh, Bednarek, Vest, Bertrand; Hoj, Rom, Jwp, Long, Redmond

What's wrong with that? Seems like a fair comment to me. Sent from my G3311 using Tapatalk

For this we need to sit super deep, defend hard, and hit them on the counter at pace. My team is: Gunn Vest Bednarek Yoshi Valery Romeu Hoj Bertrand JWP Redmond Armstrong
-
It was basically a traditional 442 but the two outside midfielders play much further up and a bit more narrow and the wingbacks provide more width.
-
I make that a 4231 with Armstrong in the 10 role. Could be wrong though, 4 2 2 2 is possible.
-
Gunn Valery Bednarek Vestergaard Bertrand PEH Romeu JWP Sims/Armstrong Redmond Ings Probably with Armstrong starting the game and Sims coming on when their defence is tired.

Don't know much about Ashley Cole to be honest, was mainly talking about the comments regarding Sterling Sent from my G3311 using Tapatalk

He will be on in the 83rd minute for barkley who will leave to a standing ovation, barely touch the ball, and be completely ignored from here on out as an England option Sent from my G3311 using Tapatalk

Nah this is rubbish, it just shows how fickle football fans are. A racist culture doesn't mean you hate all black players, that is an aggressive over simplification to suit your own conclusion. It means it is harder to impress people when you do well and you get a LOT more stick when you do badly. Point to one black player getting a hatrick and being applauded is reductive as ****, its like that "I can't be racist, I have a black friend" argument. Sent from my G3311 using Tapatalk

I actually think had Dier not been injured early on then jwp would have come on for him near the end. Unfortunately, in an important-ish game Southgate didn't trust either jwp or rice to play 75 mins so Barkley had to come on. If that same sub was made in the 70th minute when 3-0 up I think we see jwp. Sent from my G3311 using Tapatalk

Doesn't look like it, looks like it's just folded over. Also players have a new shirt every game he wouldn't be stuck with this one anyway in the same way if it ripped he wouldn't need to stitch it back together Sent from my G3311 using Tapatalk

This is cool as we can likely at this point suggest a team without any injuries. I would like: Gunn Yosh vest bednarek Valery Hoj lemina bertrand JWP ings redmond With lemina > romeu to hold a lead and yosh > Armstrong if we are chasing the game, sims being a useful impact sub when they are tired. Sent from my G3311 using Tapatalk

Player of the season: redmond/bednarek Most improved:redmond Best signing:ings (still our top scorer) Most disappointing:Elyounoussi Breakthrough star:Valery Sent from my G3311 using Tapatalk

I want: Gunn Valery vestergaard bednarek bertrand Romeu Hoj jwp Sims redmond Armstrong As I think it has lots of flexibility and attacking industry, if we need to change things up though and go more conventional we can bring Austin on and go to Gunn Valery vestergaard bednarek Bertrand Romeu hoj JWP Armstrong redmond Austin We actually would be OK in a 4231 if we could just get a center forward to stay hit form and stay fit. In defence I opted for bednarek and vest as Fulham are a large physical team and they are both strong in the air but against faster sides I'd go to yoshida and bednarek Sent from my G3311 using Tapatalk

This might be a really good game to try Redmond in the center forward role. He is quick and a good outlet, maybe we could go: McCarthy Yoshida Bednarek Vestergaard Valery PEH Romeu Bertrand JWP Redmond Armstrong Obviously not ideal but with Ings out at least he can score unlike the other forwards we might use. Plus it allows us to play JWP and Armstrong without having to compromise on a decent DM, making us a lot more creative. We miss out on a traditional target man but I think when you play quick on the break then a 9 isn't always the most useful thing anyway.
